The location as such is nice and would have potential, but it urgently needs a renovation: it seems that nothing has been renewed since its opening 30 years ago. Dirty carpets. Bathroom with damages. Shower/restroom facilities at the pool basically unacceptable. Friendly staff. Price ok, but I would be happy to pay more for better condition

Only thing we regret is that we only started one night here as we on the way from Portugal to Spain! We couldn’t say enough about this historical hotel and can’t wait to expect one day we return for the longer stay. The free breakfast was served on an ancient stone table, hotel also served a wonderful dinner, it was delicious! Entire place was like a giant storyteller, the ancients buildings and its exhibitions brought you back a thousand years. A beautiful garden and courtyard with partially existing cloister ….. the hotel location also very close to the Portuguese only national park, Peneda-Gerês National Park, not far from Braga. Ideal location between Portugal and Spain!

Comfortable room. Breakfast selection was great. Liked the concept of a hotel in an old building. It is near a small town but dining options outside were quite limited. We enjoyed dinner in the hotel’s restaurant. Food and service was great
