Motel 6-Gulf Shores, AL

Motel 6 was a room to sleep nothing else ,no pool the pool in some pics belong to red roof inn who has sign thats states no motel 6 customers in pool,no breakfast the washer and dryers all out of order no wifi.

We didnt have wifi the entire time we stayed. When i asked about it the lady working there said she was going to reboot it so we could get signal and it didnt work. Would only work if we were downstairs somewhere close by office and as soon as we went up it went off again. The ice machine also didnt work. The lady working said to go next door to the red roof inn to get ice. I know we were in a beach town so its a given there will be sand but the floors were very dirty in the room and all thou inside the fridge was clean all down the sides of it on both sides on the outside were dirty.

This is a good place if you just need somewhere to sleep and shower. Cant beat the value. You get what you pay for. It is not a marriot or hilton for sure so dont go expecting that. We just wanted a safe place to sleep n shower n thats what it is. Nothing fancy. Pets stay free!! Thats another reason for choosing this place. We will definitely stay here again. Staff was friendly, cold ac, clean, no stinking carpet (all wood floors), within 5 minutes of any shopping, amusements, or beach.

No working ice machine + Our stay at Motel 6 was terrible. The first room didn’t have a working TV, so we had to switch. The second room wasn’t any better—people stomped on the floor above us most of the night, making it nearly impossible to sleep. I promised my wife we would never stay at a Motel 6 again.

The room smelled like dogs. The TV only had 2 working channels and one of them did not have sound. Maintenance attempted to fix the issue but was not able to. The ice machine was down.

So basic / simple place to be sure wish it had swimming pool or did i not see it n miss it? I enjoyed my stay

Very happy about their dog policy, but disappointed that no one cleans up after them. Could not walk anywhere outside without seeing and smelling dog poop.

Good for an overnight stay. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. Does not have a pool which was no problem since we were going to the beach.

Washer machine wasn't work. And it was a friendly stay.

Room was dirty and had hugs. Was only given a 1 day refund instead of at least 2 of the 3 nights i paid for. Even after i informed the staff of the issue after day 1.

Ok, little run down. Floors dirty. Sheets had stains.No breakfast.

Bathtub would not drain, could hear guest in next room loudly, feet would get black if walked across floor, room smelled of mildew.

The room had a musty smell on arrival. My son had spilled water on the floor so when i wiped it up the floor was just nasty. I had to buy a mop and mop the whole place. The beds are hard and small. The bathroom had a sewer smell coming from it. The mattresses were stained but sheets were clean. The ceiling above the shower needed some attention. Needed to call the front desk but apparently the phone was for show as it didnt work. The stove had not been cleaned, just wiped. Smooth top needs more than just wiping. The fire alarm went off every night at various times. No fire detected but again, couldnt call the front desk. The staff was amazing! Couldn't ask for better.

The room was dirty. The tub backed up while showering. The sink.backed up while brushing my teeth. The phine didn't work. The neighbor woke me up yelling im her room. The other occupants were shady. I highly discourage making accommodations at this location.

Rooms was nasty hair on beds floors dirty not swept

We had cockroaches. Were given new room.

One the rooms smelled of mold. Two housekeeping walked in didn't knock as we layed half naked in bed. Three it was dirty. Four the toilet didn't work. Five shower was nasty took 15 mins to get hot water. Six towels was dirty. Seven the place was just plain out nasty. I got sick and had breathing problems from just a few hours of sleeping and we got up after housekeeping just barged in. And we left.

Good luck trying to find the office to check in. I drove around twice before finding the office. Once you opened the door to the room, the smell of mold hit you in the face. The bathroom mirror had what appeared to be dried blood. They need to invest in a dehumidifier; the smell of mold was strong. Don't ever trust the reviews some people leave.

The room smelled really bad and the room was not clean. Definitely won’t be staying there again. Very disappointed for $132

Go somewhere else. The room was clean enough but in order to turn the bathroom light on, we figured out you have to turn on one of the light switches that turns on the light over the bed at the same time. We made a game of how many times to flip the switch before the bathroom light would come on. The remote didn’t work, the WiFi didn’t work and the directv did not work. Some local channels h worked but had no audio. There was a tub but no drain plug so it was shower only. Soft spots in the floor. Water leaking on the outer corridors from window units. Railings wobbly and steps kinda precarious.

Extremely nice and professional staff. Only issue was that the internet did not work inside our room

In a safe location. Pet friendly. The room was large but had very little furniture. Bed was on one side of the room and the TV was on the other side of the room.

My recent Motel 6 stay was a major letdown, especially for the price. The cost just didn't align with the room's poor quality. Upon entering, a persistent, old, musty smell hit us. It made the room feel anything but fresh. While the room was surprisingly large and initially seemed semi-clean, an ancient AC unit barely cooled the space, leaving us uncomfortably warm. The bed was comfortable, a small positive. However, the room didn't resemble the online pictures at all, which was incredibly frustrating. The online images showed a modern space, unlike the worn reality. The biggest issues were basic necessities. There was virtually no internet, and hot water was sporadic or completely absent. Trying to shower after a long day was a chilly, futile effort. Ultimately, these frustrations made us cut our vacation short. We just wanted a hot shower and a fresh environment. The spacious room and comfy bed offered brief comfort, but the musty smell, ineffective AC, misleading photos, and critical lack of internet and hot water made this Motel 6 stay one I wouldn't recommend. The price simply wasn't worth the compromises.

Needed better channels on tv; cream for coffee

While it was an "updated" room, it was really just a band aid over an old space. Air Conditioner sounded similar to planes taking off when it kicked on. Bed was ok nothing to brag about. Had hot water when first checked in, later that evening into following morning no hot water. Sophie with staff when getting coffee they had water heater fault, and gave partial refund due to circumstances. That's really the only positive thing to say about the stay.

I guess it is what you expect from a motel. Non-smoking rooms had a faint stale odor probably attributable to all the people hanging out outside smoking. The bed was okay. The room was clean - but showing age. The a/c turned off and on all night. The walls were paper thin. The people at the office were very nice.

Very basic. No frills…absolutely none. The location is pretty convenient for activities. Room was clean enough and bed was pretty comfortable. Sheets and blankets were stained. There is no kitchenette (as photos showed) or sink/dressing area. The one sink in the bathroom drains slow. Room was spacious (and echoey) but no furniture. No lamps, just overly bright overheads. I guess you get what you pay for. I’d recommend staying elsewhere if you can afford it. Feels like a $45/nt room

Waited 10 minutes for anyone to come to the front desk and help us. Not even exaggerating. Was able to check in a little early so that was nice. Being charged the same for a downgraded room, not so nice. Room smelled terrible. Like mold and Marijuana. Towels were stained. Bathroom light didn't automatically come on. There was one time it took close to an hour to turn on. The people above us were pretty loud at random times of the night which was pretty distracting. I wouldn't say it's the worst place but for the price I wouldn't say its worth it.

The staff was so kind! Great place will return as much as much as I can.

I contacted front desk numerous times on issues with the room. They always brush me off never fix the issues ended up checking out early.

Check in was quick and easy. Nikki was absolutely amazing and super sweet. Room was very clean and comfortable. Great location close to the beach, food and shopping.

The location was great and the room was clean and the lady who works over night was awesome. But unfortunately someone else on staff kept coming into our room even though there was a do not disturb sign on our door and whoever came into our room to clean it anyways stole property from our room. The police had to be called and a report was made. The manager was no help at all. They said they would refund the rest of the booked nights but we haven’t to get the refund. For safety reason I would not recommend this hotel.

Was in a good locstion to Gulf Shorws beaches.

Location was right in the middle area and not but a few miles to the beach. Was very quiet at night and the ac about froze us out of the room and office had extra blankets. The gentleman in the office was super nice. We went able to save money by staying there so we were able to afford extra stuff. It's a win win situation. We'll definitely stay here again.

Excellent Stay will stay there again .. love that property easy to The beach and a nice drive to Orange Beach .

Location of this place was excellent,not far from the beach or shopping areas gulf shores has to offer. Friendly staff also. All around good place. Also budget friendly which is a plus.

Perfect location to the beach

The room was clean and the location was excellent. It was near the beaches and good restaurants. It was nothing fancy, but it was one of the better examples of this motel chain.

The a/c works great! Bed was very comfortable facing a nice size tv. Small mini kitchen was there, we only used the fridge. The shower temperature was great, water pressure was fine, there was a rust stain all over the bottom of the tub, and it held water and didn't drain as you showered. This is a wonderful location, if you have a vehicle, it's at a red light, right beside go carts and goofy golf, beach just a short drive south.

It was safe and clean enough (corners/ behind the bed/ areas like that weren't). The front desk was very nice! There was no coffee maker in the room or on site. The light in the bathroom only worked sometimes. The hot water didn't work, but when I came back later it did. The was no shampoo in the bathroom only a bar of soap. If you read through the reviews these are common issues.

No tv channels at all, shower was dirty with mold, staff was very noises. Heard their whole conversation whe. They were cleaning rooms. So loud it woke us up. Vending machines didn’t work. Very slow internet If any at all.

Great for a cheap hotel. Nothing fancy, not the cleanest. No coffee in the room. Just a cheap place to sleep.

It needs to have a bigger refrigerator or a small couch in the bigger rooms. Its a nice place to stay. If you are on the front side by the office make sure you got somewhere to park.

Great location, not spotless but was mostly clean, kitchenette was a nice feature for our extended stay, large room, would stay here again
