Great location and traditional Italian decor. The hotel is good value for where it is and when compared to the other hotels in the lake-front. We’ve stayed here over 5 times, every time we come to Bellagio since, for this reason. The hotel is a little tired and in need of a refit, but this would attract a higher room rate and is probably unnecessary when all you need is somewhere clean, functional and convenient. We had a lake side room for three, which was spacious and clean. Breakfast was fine and the location meant you could pop back to cool down or just escape the bustle of the town. The pool is a real benefit; a quiet oasis at the back of the hotel, providing somewhere to cool down and relax. Swimming in the lake is not easy in Bellagio. Will definitely come back - it’s good value for a Bellagio hotel and the location and pool make it worth every penny.

liked nearly everything though took one star off for only having one very small, slow lift. I do realize though it isn't easy to install modern larger lifts in a historic building I also took 1 star off for a lack of sunshades in the pool area - there wasn't very much shade from trees and with temperatures up to the mid thirties there were only 2 sunshades!

Wonderful location in Bellagio Italy. Close to all the restaurants, cafes and shopping with spectacular view of Lake Como. Convenient to the ferry shuttle. Breakfast was included and was decent. Our only complaint was that the elevator stopped working on check-out day. To be fair, the staff carried our bags down for us, so we did appreciate that. If you are looking to stay in Bellagio, you can't go wrong here.

Old school pictures didn’t do this excellent hotel justice. The hotel felt traditional, elegant and classy. The pool and gardens in the back offered a private and relaxing reprieve. The hotel’s location couldn’t have been better. Breakfast was great. Latte is just milk. Felt like more than a 3 star hotel.

The hotel was nice, beds are hard as a rock. Staff helpful. If you want to be in the middle of everything it's perfect. Parking is quite a walk from hotel.

The hotel was very conveniently situated near the ferry port and for exploring Bellagio. The rooms were basic but have everything you need. The beds weren’t the comfiest - a bit on the hard side but the rooms and hotel itself were very clean. The breakfast was better than expected, choices of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, lovely soft bread and bread for toasting along with scrambled or boiled eggs. We had a lake view which was stunning, however a little on the noisy side early in the morning from 6am and the curtains do not pull so light floods the room. Overall the hotel is good, has everything you would expect from a 3* hotel! The greatest thing about it too was the hidden little oasis behind the hotel with a swimming pool and loungers, amazing for a late afternoon dip after exploring everything Bellagio has to offer!

This property may have been "splendide" back in the day but we were not thrilled. The parking is really challenging and a good walk. The plumbing in the bathroom had a weird shower setup and broken parts. On our last night, my wife asked "What's that?" It was a large cockroach that went under the bed. I told the front desk. They were unfazed. Beautiful view but thick with tourists. We were happy to leave. Not again.

Hotel was near the lake and the dock. Front was excellent but the hallway was falling apart.Dirt in all corners and saw a sentipeds in the lift.The female receptionist is not welcoming.I ask if my friwnt can come to wash her face in my room she said only 5 minutes.My friend can be a potential customer ad they are coming back to bellagio with family next few months but not happy with the female receptionist.The male receptionist is more helpful and explained about out stay in the hotel. Thenproperty needs looking after its looks like its flling apart.

The only positive aspect was the location. The facility was old, there was a roach in the hallway, the elevators were not working, the food quality was poor, and overall, the conditions were very inadequate.

Hotel Excelsior splendid is an older hotel that is in good shape however the rooms are somewhat dated. Breakfast was good however it was somewhat spoiled by the large amount of flies. The location is excellent. It is right on all of the piers, one minute and any of the piers there are other hotels in the area, one of them an expensive, five star hotel, also there is a hotel that has been abandoned next to the facility. It is currently being worked on The hotel was very clean. The location is completely excellent and the price was reasonable. We paid US$1800 for five nights stay..

This hotel is in the heart of the lakefront promenade. There are shops and eateries all around. I loved the lake view from my room. However, on a Saturday night it was not such a prime spot as music from a restaurant below kept me awake until midnight. In retrospect it was a small price to pay for a very special stay.

This property is located central to the Bellagio waterfront/ferry/taxi drop off. There are many dining options and the location can’t be beat. However the hotel rooms are mediocre at best. The mattresses are very poor quality and let’s just say the walls are VERY THIN! The hallway noise and other surround room noise is very disruptive.

This hotel was gorgeous and in the perfect location for Bellagio! My only complaints are 1) that the air conditioning is locked so it’s either blowing directly on your bed (so you freeze) or it’s off and it gets unbearably warm and 2) there is a large gap under the door from your room to the corridor so you can hear EVERYTHING at all hours day and night

The hotel is very pretty and historic-looking, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast every morning was excellent. We had a nice room looking out to the lake, and as a surprising bonus, the window had automated roll shutters that kept the room dark for sleeping and blocked out any noise. Our only complaint is that the bed was not very comfortable. The mattress was hard and springy and the blankets were very thin. With a new bed and upgraded bedding, I would rate the property as 4 stars.

Location right in front of the lake, one minute walk to the ferry, nice view, nice decoration inside but bed is not comfortable, bathroom is small, AC is controlled so room is not cold, during hot summer is not giving us comfort at all.

Outstanding property!! It was beautiful, extremely clean, and ideally situated!! The staff was incredible especially Gloria at the front desk. She was kind, helpful and always smiling. The restaurant staff was so professional and polite too. We can not say enough about this hotel and its hospitality! Lived it!!

Nice old hotel building. Really clean, in the morning one of the staff cleaned the ceiling (!). Breakfast was good except for the coffee - both machine and filter was not good. Staff at breakfast was helpful and working, but reception was weirdly care to anything. When asking to store luggage, the guy didn’t even realise maybe he was supposed to help taking the luggage away. Just stood there, confused. And then again when picking it up, told us we could just «get it». From behind the counter... Under the staircase… Not once did it occur to him to give a hand or help retrieving luggage from a place we as guests should not be allowed to go freely. Seemed annoyed and confused that he had to appear from the back office when called. Also a guy, looked like the hotel manager maybe, held telephone interviews with loads of people’s CV’s floating, openly, in the hotel lobby. Isn’t that personal and maybe sensitive information? Just weird. Maybe that’s just Italian.

The property is in a great location for all the shops, bars and quaint little streets. The ferry is directly opposite the hotel and is noisy from quite early. That's when we got up. The staff were quite ignorant really. No 'hello' as they passed and they seemed to avoid eye contact mostly. The hotel bar is just outside the front of the property The staff there were openly rude and ignorant. On one visit there was a sign to say 'wait to be seated' but people were just walking in without being challenged while we were just ignored. Breakfast was cold, even the bacon and scrambled eggs, the 3 days we stayed it just got more cold each day. I would not stay here in this hotel again. I would definitely not go the this bar again. Good job my daughter and son in law had a nicer hotel and bar which we went back to.

Love my stay here at Excelsior Splendide. I got the lake view room and love every minute I spent on the balcony. The pool was very clean and refreshing specially on Italy’s hot summer. The check-in and check-out was a breeze. The breakfast was good and nice variety. The staff were very polite and nice. Would stay here again. There’s an elevator too, if you have mobility issues. It’s conveniently placed too. Lot’s of stores, restaurants and things to do very close.

The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. I injured my knee in transit to Bellagio, and the front desk staff very kindly helped me to find a qualified doctor and they cheerfully provided me with ice and suggested things to do that were nearby. It was a pleasure to stay at Spledide

L'hotel est agreable, belle vue sur le Lac. La jeune fille de l'accueil Tres gentille Petit dej ok et la piscine sympa Le Seul point noir (Tres Tres noir) c'est la difficulté d acces et le stationnement. La ville etant fermée aux voitures nous sommes bien passés 4 ou 5 fois par la ZTL avant d etre obliges dappeler l'hotel pour nous faire guider. Jattends mes amendes maintenant! Ce cerait sympathique d envoyer un mail avant d arriver afin de donner les instructions.. cela a grandement gaché notre séjour

This hotel is in the heart of the lakefront promenade. There are shops and eateries all around. I loved the lake view from my room. However, on a Saturday night it was not such a prime spot as music from a restaurant below kept me awake until midnight. In retrospect it was a small price to pay for a very special stay.

The hotel feels a little worn and tired and in need of a refresh. Our room was tiny and the bathroom even tinier, but it was a last minute booking so that might have been all that was left. The staff were all super nice and extremely helpful when it came to storing our bicycles. Breakfast was not great, with stale pastries. Location is excellent, right opposite ferry.

Perfect location in Bellagio with easy access to the ferry, dining and shopping. Room was decent and bathroom was larger than most (in Italy). Breakfast was very good with many hot and cold options for both food and beverages. The staircase was beautiful but an elevator was available.

The hotel is very pretty and historic-looking, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast every morning was excellent. We had a nice room looking out to the lake, and as a surprising bonus, the window had automated roll shutters that kept the room dark for sleeping and blocked out any noise. Our only complaint is that the bed was not very comfortable. The mattress was hard and springy and the blankets were very thin. With a new bed and upgraded bedding, I would rate the property as 4 stars.

Wonderful location, the staff were very helpful. The room was spacious, full of light. Minor negatives, no mini fridge in the room, and the buffet had packaged juices and no fresh fruit, but they did have very good drip coffee. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Excellent hotel in Bellagio. Great value. We booked a room with view of the lake. It was so beautiful. The room seem to have gone some remodeling. It looked so much better than the pictures on Hotel.com. The AC was very good. It was so hot outside in the beginning of August. We look forward to going back to our room at the end of the day. The ferry gates were also nearby. I highly recommend this hotel.
