Refrigerator and AC were not working Reception was helpful enough to put a brand new AC within 10 mins but food didn’t get preserved due to refrigeration issues

This hotel was remodeling and the parking lot area had equipment and construction debris. The rooms were clean and neat. I would stay there again.

Overall this place is an excellent value for the $. They're just finishing a renovation, so the paint was new, there are some really nice lighting touches, and it's remarkably clean in the rooms. You can tell they're working on a budget--the fridge in my deluxe double was spraypainted to look new, but was old enough to make a notable racket at night when the compressor kicked on. Wasn't bad enough to complain about, though--we just kinda got used to it as white noise. I do believe that if we had complained, they would have done their best to switch us rooms or otherwise fix the issue. (Another tip--the TVs aren't quite set right; you have to select the HDMI input every time you turn the TV on, otherwise you'll just get snow.) But these are obvious growing pains, and my girlfriend & I were very happy with our stay. The staff even took the time to show us the room before assigning it. Parking was okay, despite a couple large dumpsters still on-site. Location is...well, it's Chesapeake. Not bad, considering some of the places we've stayed there. Note to staff: I'd recommend stocking extra toilet paper--I had to grab some in an emergency off the cart our fist morning, filling the kleenex dispenser, and for the kitchen suites, maybe some $ store cookware & dishes?

It was no heat all night though out da hotel no WiFi staff was not answering the phone heat did not come back on till after 8 am it was very cold

Great for one night to attend the jazz festival in Norfolk. The very large dumpsters lowered my rating.

Probably should not be open with renovations going on. Full trash dumpsters out front. Room was dirty and lacked basics, like soap and shampoo. The bottoms of my socks were super dirty from walking around the room. It’s a budget motel, I get it. Operators were friendly at check in which was a plus.

Very pleasant 4 day stay in newly renovated room. Very clean and all staff was friendly.

The room looked very nice and the bed was comfortable. But the floors were filthy and roches were everywhere.

The room wasn’t clean and the door was broken. The bathroom is darty and floor wasn’t clean either. The little lotions had dart on them. It was gross they should keep that place more clean.

It was not good. The sink was stopped upand there were roaches!!!😡

Unfortunately for me my stay was a very short excursion we reserved the room a day in advance to enter and find that the room was still unclean the toilet had urine in it the sheets had tears the room had roaches and there was no way to switch rooms or get a instantaneous refund for the money I just spent

This was just ok. I would have not have felt safe traveling alone here. There are residents that you can tell live here and they are drinking beer sitting in the parking lot outside their door watching the people come and go. I won't lie the bed and pillows were the most comfortable I have had in a long time. I didn't see any bugs but there was a small dead roach in the fridge, the microwave was very dirty, and there was hair in the sink. The TV didn't work.

Clean, bare bones room. The only down side was the lack of a coffee maker.

No amenities. The rooms smelled smokey.

Our non-smoking room smelled very strongly of smoke. There were multiple burn holes in the comforter and sheets. Otherwise, we slept fine, had enough room in the mini fridge for all we needed, and the AC kept us comfortable.

This could be a decent place to stay but It was actually the WORST I’ve stayed at. First there were ROACHES, a lot too. We slept with the light on all 3 nights to keep as little roaches as possible from coming out. We even found one in our bed. Then I paid for a NON smoking room. When I arrived to check in they said that there are no more non smoking available…then said they newly renovated a room that no one has stayed in so It won’t smell like smoke. At first it didn’t until the neighbors in the smoking rooms sections of the hotel showed up. We left for the day and came back and our whole room smelled like smoke. Our microwave didn’t work so I heated our food up in the office. They told me they would bring a new microwave by, which never happened. And the smoke detector chirped day and night! They were renovating the rooms next to us, starting their drilling and banging at 6 AM making it impossible to sleep. The staff is very kind and the room is spacious. Could be a nice place but is terrible.

The room was clean but very basic. No extra pillows. No blanket! Just a top sheet and very thin bedspread. The AC and heater worked but were noisy. I thought a car was idling outside our room.

staff at the front desk was super friendly, after a 4 hr drive they allowed me to check in an hour early. the room was recently renovated and the mirror with the vanity light feature was an awesome perk as well, great price great experience. i will be definitely be staying here again in September.

I was yelled at by the man who works up front, in front of my kids, because i was late checking out. The reason i was late checking out, was because i almost got shot that night and was told by the police i should leave for safety reasons. The place was dirty and that man was the worst person ive ever encountered being at a hotel

The front desk clerk/ owner had set room rates higher than what was on hotel.com when it came to paying for another day or days

No where on the website did it say anything about being over 25 to check in to the hotel, so upon arrival the desk lady was very rude when I tried checking in.

Immediately upon arrival other guests in the parking lot stared at us and watched everything we did. A man was carrying a woman on his shoulder, threw her down, and was spitting. They are also currently remodeling this site. So all of the windows were covered with brown paper, and there are construction materials all over the parking lot. At check in, the front desk had a very weird vibe. Everyone standing outside of their rooms was casing us. They watched every move we made from the time we got there to the time we left. When we got to our room, the guests staying next to us left their door open, they were outside in front of our room smoking cigars. I am allergic to cigars, so I just walked by quickly and entered the room. I have no issue with anyone smoking cigars. However, we booked a smoking free room and the first thing I noticed when I closed the door was the two inch gap beneath the door, so there was definitely smoke entering. The room itself was newly renovated. The floor, walls, bed, and furniture all looked rather nice in comparison to everything else. The shower was peeling quite badly, and there was hardly any room between the door and the toilet. I would have been entirely happy to stay in the room had there not been a 2 inch gap under the door. After speaking with some locals, they advised me to leave that area. The hotel gave me the runaround trying to get a refund. Hotels.com really did a great job helping. Would NOT recommend staying here.

Toilet wouldn’t flush, the lock on the door was broken so had to put a desk and a chair to keep it secure. In the middle of the night there were people knocking at the door (1:30am) left and then came back to knock again, I took a peak outside and saw a guy walking around looking at every car. Not safe

Cannot beat the price! I had an issue with the key in the room and they fixed it immediately then another issue with TV (operators error) and they fixed that too! If looking for quick stay so you can 2 days at beach instead of 1 with an overnight stay this is the place. Only 20 mins from oceanfront. Would stay here again $70 cannot beat that

Rooooooaches roaches roaches !!! Prostitution; Although they are renovating, it really doesn’t matter they need an extermination team and police presence. Went to the restroom roaches in the toilet, and even on the bed needless to say 1/10

we had to stop for one night in Chesapeake due to a late flight into Norfolk while heading down to the Outer Banks for a family vacation. 15 years ago we lived in this area so I was not a stranger to where we were staying as far as neighborhood. It was actually super convenient to me because it was right off the highway that I was driving down and it had a Walmart very close by that I was able to pre-order my groceries. I don’t judge anyone. I am well aware there are people who are living full-time in these types of motels with their kids that doesn’t bother me and for one night we just needed somewhere to land. The staff was friendly, our room was clean, no issues with safety noise or neighbors. It was way more convenient to stay here and far less expensive than any other area along our route. As a one night crash pad no issues.

The room is like a motel, the bathroom is horrible and the carpet floor is dirty, it smells bad, the breakfast is lousy, it's just honey buns. I don't recommend it, it's dirty.
