⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ — Hotel Rey Fernando: The perfect home base for Santiago Santiago de Compostela is a city that carries centuries of spiritual weight and breathtaking beauty — and Hotel Rey Fernando matches that setting with an experience that genuinely impresses from check-in to checkout. The location is outstanding. Whether you’ve arrived at the end of the Camino or simply as a traveler drawn by Santiago’s extraordinary cathedral and old town, being this well-positioned makes every difference. The city’s most iconic sights are within easy reach, letting you spend your time immersed in one of Europe’s most remarkable destinations rather than navigating your way to it. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed — exactly what you want after a day of exploring cobblestoned streets and soaking in the atmosphere of this ancient pilgrimage city. Clean, quiet, and genuinely restful. The staff, however, are what truly elevate Hotel Rey Fernando above the competition. Warm, attentive, and knowledgeable, they bring a personal touch that is increasingly rare in modern hospitality. They clearly care about their guests’ experience and it shows in every interaction. And for the price? Exceptional value. In a city that draws visitors from across the world, finding this level of comfort, service, and location without an inflated bill feels like a genuine gift. Hotel Rey Fernando isn’t just a place to sleep in Santiago — it’s an essential part of the experience. Highly and unreservedly recommended.

The staff were very helpful. There are basically no amenities. There was a coffee and basic bar service area but it's out of operation. There is only a coffee vending machine. We asked for a hot pot and the staff provided one so we had tea and coffee in the morning. The location is great being 6 minutes walk to the train and bus station.

The only complaint was no air conditioning. They had a fan in the closet, but it didn't help.

A great hostel with very friendly staff. They helped store our bags both before check in and after checking out. The room we had was comfortable and large and although no air-conditioning a fan was supplied.
