Sunrise Ridge Waterfront Resort

The location is on the beach. There is not much that is within walking distance for restaurants and shops. It is a short drive to the downtown and to Qualicum Beach and to the market in Coombs. The resort is new so it is clean. The gym doesn’t open until 7:00. Coffee was sometimes ready at 6:00 but it depends on the staff. The washer an dryer in our suite was very convenient. It’s good for families with kids.

Lobby is beautiful amd my room was very spacious and clean. Parling is limited near the building I stayed in. I arrived in the evening and it was a challenge to find parking and then to locate my room. Improved signage would help. Wifi connection is lousy. Shower was fantastic. Id recommend this place, but be sure to arrive during daylight

Nice newer and very .clean with welcoming staff. Not like both pool and advertised hot tub closed.

Staff was friendly, though didn’t see many. No phone to contact front desk, and no housekeeping came in. Upon arrival, we found that one coffee pod was punctured open, leftover used coffee and washing machine detergent were left in machines from previous visitors. No pillows for sofa bed … had to use a folded up towel since we didn’t want to walk to the reception building to get a pilllow. Overall cleanliness was good, and suite was nice. Well stocked with necessities. Fitness room literally felt like a sauna … we actually thought there was one in there, so use of exercise equipment was impossible.

Cons: Check in was over an hour and a half late due to staffing shortages. No restaurant on site. Oven was missing some knobs. Pros: beds were comfortable, pool/hot tub were clean, beach close by, staff were friendly, bbq and patio were a nice touch.

Still in the midst of a construction area. But construction wasnt distuptive, just a bit unsightly.

Nice and close to Parksville. There is no food here, you need to find something off property. The pad to access the parking area is hard to find in the dark and there was nothing lit around it. Very beautiful property, and excellent for star viewing near the beach.

I have mobility issues and the elevator was out of service, no one offered to help with luggage up 3 flights of stairs.

Great stay, location, amenities. Pool, hot tub, kitchen stocked with essential. Comfortable bed. EV charging stations. Will stay here again.

I stayed at this property as a business traveller. They texted me the day of check in and if I wanted to check in early, it would cost me $50 however early checkin wasn’t available. Check in was 4pm. I arrived at 3:30 to be told my room wasn’t ready. I was tired from previous travel and said I would wait in the lounge u tip it was ready. I was never notified that my room was ready. At 4:15, a different employee was working the front desk and I asked it my room was ready and she said all rooms were ready. I picked this property because of the price and because of the gym and hot tub.Gym was subpar but the hot tub was nice. Nowhere onsite to get food or coffee to go, not even to go cups in the room. Nice that there was a small kitchenette with a couple of dishes. My room was overly hot. It was snowing during my stay but I had the heat off and the window open. One day was more hot than the rest and I asked what was going on. I was told the boiler was having issues.

Their is a strange musty smell to this room and the cable box in the living room doesn’t work

The only thing i didn’t like about this stay was that the room was DEFINITELY not cleaned. Dried food on the drawer pulls, fridge handle, and a boat load of dust and food in the corners of the room. I cleaned it before I could sleep. Other than that it was great. No restaurant.

There were cobwebs, mould in the shower.

When we got to our room, the floor was dirty there was stuff all over the floor. It look like cereal, paper, dust popcorn. It hadn’t been swept or mopped at all. We went down to the desk to ask the desk clerk if we can get someone to come up and clean the floors because I couldn’t even take my shoes off. It was that dirty.

There was no shower soap (one tiny bar left for hand washing at bathroom sink) Food left in fridge from other guests (take-out leftovers) Bathroom door didn't close. Large room windows faced the elevator area , therefore no privacy whatsoever and had to leave the blinds shut, felt very shut in. Would not stay in this room again.

This was my fourth stay at this property, and it was by far the worst experience I've had. I typically book a studio room, and in the past, I’ve been assigned a studio overlooking the courtyard, sometimes even with a balcony. However, this time, I was given a room that resembled a run-down motel. My windows faced the hallway, offering no privacy whatsoever, so I had to keep the blinds closed the entire stay. Even with the blinds drawn, hallway lights shone into my room all night. To make matters worse, I later discovered what appeared to be human feces on the bathroom floor and a filthy coffee machine left by the previous guest. Additionally, the room I was given this time didn’t resemble the pictures at all, and I learned that some of these rooms don’t even have air conditioning. This property is beautiful, and I’ve always loved staying here, which is why it’s been my go-to choice when visiting the area. But after this experience, I’ll be looking for other options next time. I think management should consider categorizing these studio rooms more accurately so guests can actually receive what they paid for—rather than a rundown, motel-style room with unclean conditions

It was dirty and our room bas basic. The suites might be better but the room with one bed in the main building was not. No dining option on site. Mini fridge didn't work. When i left my review manager reached out with a discount for next stay..hasnt clarified what the discount is. I don't have plans to use it though. There's better places to stay.

We stayed in a beautiful 2-BR condo with a sliver of water view. The condo feels new with lovely finishing and tall ceilings. You need a car to get to restaurants because there are none on-site, but you have a full kitchen for cooking if you bring/buy your food supplies. A major downside for us was the bed in the master bedroom. While it was very comfortable, it had definite indents on each side (as in it no longer "bounced back") and more of an issue was that it sloped downward toward the head - enough of an angle to feel like you were sleeping with your feet up. We stayed three nights and put up with it because I did not want the hassle of moving. The other bedroom also had a very comfortable bed that my mother said was "perfect". Each condo has wifi, which is nice. It was supposed to be password protected but ours was seemingly the only one that was not secure. And because it was not secure, I was unable to work on that network. I did ask for the wifi to be re-set, and was told the maintenance person would be around in about a half hour, but no one came. When I went back to the front desk a few hours later, the attendant gave me access to the Sunrise network (THANK YOU!!!!), which allowed me to work although the signal was not always good from our condo. All in all, it was a beautiful place to stay. Those two issues were small but quite impactful especially since I planned to work from the condo one day. If that is sorted out, it will be perfection.

Nice location. Room was small, very hot and stuffy and next unit was loud and slamming doors until after midnight. Calling front desk did not help

The suites, 1brs and townhouses are excellent. The studios without view are in the dark in the back. They overheat even in October and the space is poorly laid out. The only closet is in the bathroom. OK for a single traveller I suppose.

Everything is beyond our expectations, I love the ocean view outside our townhouse, my family had a great time there.

Checkin was great, property looked nice but our room was like a sauna. The heat was shutoff but bathroom floor still warm from radiant heat. Tried to sleep with portable AC on but too loud.

Beautiful property ! Our unit was amazing with incredible waterfront views.

The room was very hot and air conditioner loud. Didn't like the connecting outer door because the people next to us had someone ringing the doorbell at 3.30 in the AM. Overall I would stay here again, we really like the area.

Just a couple of things, I was coming in very late and let the front desk know but they wrote down the wrong time so didn't expect me. Eventually I did get checked in. As it was a bit chilly, I asked for maintenance to check my heat as it was not working. Looks like maintenance arrived. Nothing changed the room was still cold. I let the front desk know but all they could do is offer blankets. I'd say this was not a comfortable room.

The 2 bedroom studio suite is beautiful. Amazing stay. With stunning views. Mark at the front desk is super friendly and helpful.

After what i thought was going to be an awkward start turned into a fantastic two week stash with complimentary upgrades to a suite. The staff were attentive and helpful at all times and i really could not have wished for a better place to stay. I will go back.

Had a problem with checking in and the room when we first checked in. However after talking with Katy who was front desk supervisor we were upgraded to a suite! It was my birthday so just added to the day. I would recommend this resort to anyone, you will come back!

Finding the room was confusing and challenging. It was not explained that there were 2 separate units behind a single door. Nor was there indication of this. Front desk was not adequately staffed, meaning multiple trips were necessary to get service.

I have been coming to this Resort every week for months for work. I always have the best communication with Mark the agent at the resort. Very professional and. Wry helpful. I cannot say enough, everything on point. I will be back next week. Thank you Mark and thank you Sunrise Resort.

Poorest communication ever from front desk

There are many option for lodging in this area. This resort is unfortunately understaffed. I called and asked for fresh towels - nobody showed up. I called again in the morning and the poor girl at the front desk told me I would have to wait until 8:30. I told her I needed to get to the ferry - she said she would have to lock up to bring me towels. I needed access to laundry for my trip… and the place came with a one load laundry soap package. On the second night I asked for more and I was told they were out. Was it completely awful? No it wasn’t - but there are enough other places in the area that I won’t stay there again. I think they just need to dial it up a bit.

Convenient location, friendly staff, easy and free parking. Kitchen, washer and dryer in the unit; beautiful view, close to the beach. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back again next time.

Noisy mostly unsupervised kids in pool. Room in main building close too close to pool. Made for non-stop noise. No restaurant on property. Advertised as waterfront but not waterfront so is misleading. Access to water down a gravel switchback pathway to rocky beach. At high tide beach disappears so walk through water to get to steps to access pathway.

Welcoming staff, beautifully laid out suit with all the supplies I wanted (kitchen). Incredibly comfortable bed! Perfect location. Walkable to beach and restaurant. And even eagles sharing the property with you!

Excellent property. The beds were really comfortable. My only negative thing to say (and it’s extremely minor and not a big deal) was that they didn’t have any decaffeinated coffee. Staff was great. We really enjoyed our stay!!

Loved it had so much room, a real big kitchen, everything we could ever need and staff was so nice.
