Check in was a fiasco. Expedia didn’t relay my reservation to the hotel properly. The food was dry and bland. I had to check out early due to a family emergency and inquired on a refund. Never heard back. So I have to follow up again.

I had several issues that I did report. They were not handled prior to me leaving. Room and front lobby were both dirty. Just not a good stay. Breakfast attendants could be heard cursing in the back and the breakfast was subpar.

My biggest issue is that Holiday Inn Express has a policy that they put a 25.00 charge on your credi when you check in. This charge is to cover any incidental's that you may have. In 40 years of staying in hotel's I have never had an incidental charge. Of course the charge is immediately visible on your credit card but takes serveral days to be reversed. Holiday Inn Express is able to use 10's of thousands of dollars daily while you have to wait for the charge to be reversed.

Unfortunately, this is the first time I’m leaving a negative review. Our room was not fully cleaned with some kind of dark goop on the counters. Shower had dirty walls. We only had two bath towels and one washcloth, like they hadn’t restocked. No linens for pullout. (We were able to get towels and linens from desk later.) Breakfast was the worst we’ve had at a Holiday Inn Express. Most items were not stocked, no one available to help, counters and tables dirty, no salt and pepper (just empty containers.) Overall, not a good stay. When I tried to speak to the morning desk attendant, she was dismissive. I do have photos, should that be helpful for management.
