We were asked to sign a $250 fine agreement to NOT SMOKE in our room. When we got to our room, it smelled of cigarette smoke and the smoke alarm was missing. We had to go to the lobby, get a new room, move our stuff from 3rd floor to 1st floor. The building was under construction, smelled of paint in all rooms. I had to go back up to the third floor to get ice. It was the only machine. The desk clerk had to come in and set up the TV so it would work. Then, we noticed the iron was not present, either. The desk clerk and other staff were very nice, but I would not recommend the place to anyone. The new bed was extremely uncomfortable. The location is great, lots of other hotels and places to eat nearby.

This property is one of 3 main hotel chains in the Camden area, price wise they fall in the middle. My son attends Camden Military Academy, when I visit this is where I stay. My only real complaint is the pool, it’s outdoors so in the off season you can’t use it. It would be nice to have access to an indoor pool. Easy access to nearby restaurants and shopping.

Outside of property was in good condition. Inside condition was ok. I think they didnt have enough staff like Housekeeping. Some days they clean the room, other days, I had to go tothe front desk and request my room to be clean. It should have a ice machine on each floor. And the pool wasn't clean on certain days. Not enough of staff.

We arrived to check in but when we got to the room it hadn’t been made up so we got another room. But that was on the third floor and the elevator wasn’t working! So after getting to the room we discovered it too was occupied so we went back down to reception. It was actually quite funny and we felt like we were in a southern version of “ faulty towers”! The girl at reception was very apologetic and did give us an upgrade which we appreciated. So third time lucky the room was ready! The location was good with Camden town just a couple of miles away as well as the revolutionary village.

I liked the breakfast and the staff was friendly. It was memorial day weekend and the pool was green with lots of debris. If I had been traveling with children they would have been very disappointed because I wouldn't have let them swim.

The property seemed all right the inside Lobby smelled like formaldehyde and some type of chemical we were only there until 12 when my daughter was laying on the bed and got up and saw four bed bugs crawling around we left immediately

We had a bit of a rough check-in a girl was training and it took over 10 minutes to check the guy in front of us in. Then we finally get our room key and they forgot to tell us the door is “tricky” and you lift handle and push really hard so we had to go back down and get help. We get in and the window is broken and stuck open! Back down and they tell us they will move us. Almost 20 minutes later we get assigned a room with two double beds vs the king bed I booked weeks ago and they didn’t even ask if we were ok with that. When I said something to manager she said “it’s fine hop bed to bed”Weird response! The room was ok but I had to use Clorox wipes and wipe down the not so clean bathroom! The room and hotel in general have a musty/mold smell. Missing pieces of Sheetrock near the toilet and a tub with permanent stains. . We will stay at another hotel if in Camden area again.

Did not enjoy this stay. Got in really late and just wanted to get to bed, we were only staying overnight. Room smelled bad - musty. When we woke up in the morning, I just felt gross - almost like my clothes were wet. It was just a bad experience.

It was white round stains so I hope it was mold and not something else. Either way, we didn’t use that area. Checked in at 9p and when I went back to see if we could swap rooms, the only front desk person was gone and left a note “had to step away”. It’s a $60 room, not a $200 room

Stayed here for a golf tournament weekend at Camden CC. Hotel was ok and staff was friendly but there was clearly a “mold” problem which you could smell as soon as you walked in the room.

service- No one could look up our rewards number so we didn’t get credit for our stay. Room cleaners were phenomenal. Comfort- room 302 is next to a mechanical room and it woke us up multiple times each night when some piece of equipment turned on and off. Condition- occasional smell of smoke

The employees are exceptional! Leigh Ann and Stephanie were both very patient, professional and went above and beyond customer service. The employees in the breakfast room were also excellent. The cleaning staff were polite and helpful. Overall, we highly recommend this establishment.

This review should for the most part go to the Comfort Inn & Suites since my booking with the Holiday Inn Express was changed due to overbooking to that hotel. There were roaches crawling over the bed in the room Comfort Inn & Suites gave us. We did not stay a single minute in that unhealthy environment. As for why Holiday Inn Express is getting a low rating: they lost all my trust for disrespecting a commitment that was my booking of several weeks in advance by overbooking. That is a terrible way of treating customers.

After waiting 45 minutes to check in, I had to change my clothes in the lobby restroom so that I could make it to my meeting in time. The person working the desk had reservations confused, billed wrong credit cards and for an unknown reason was unable to speak up or articulate clearly. One couple in the lobby said they had been waiting nearly two hours to check in because their room “was not ready.” I never had the opportunity to check in and the lobby filled up with other people. The hotel has refused to refund my money, so I’ll be disputing the charges and reporting them to the better business bureau.

The afternoon assistant manager Devon was very rude. I pointed out a discrepancy with my room and her response was “what do you want me to do about it”. I was shocked by that response. The pictures that were advertised for the room I reserved were false. She had the audacity to tell me that I should have called the hotel about the room after I showed her the pictures that were advertised for it. The picture had a loveseat in it, which would have been another sleeping area. The room assigned had a loveseat. Devon then put extra linen on the counter and brought a folding bed to the room which she left outside. Once I saw what it looked like I was offended that she thought I would have someone even sleep on that thing. I then had the pleasure of watching her accepting adult drinks from guests that were checking in and she was quite friendly with each and every one of them. The property itself was nice. However, she doesn’t need to be the face of that establishment at any time of the day and especially not by herself.

Excellent stay! Room was very clean and quiet. Lots of Revolutionary War historic sites close-by and the town of Camden is a perfect area to spend an evening walking. Lots of small shops and great food.

We were in Camden for a horse show. When we checked in the desk clerk was super friendly, and gave us information about our room, its location, and the breakfast schedule. Our room was spacious and I noticed that the toiletries were the Dove brand. Also, our pillows were labeled soft and firm (we had two of each). The bed and bedding were super comfortable as well. Breakfast was great with your standard eggs, protein, yogurts, cereals, breads, coffee and juice. We will definitely choose this hotel in the future.
