Microtel Inn and Suites Gassaway

We had to replace the key card multiple times as it kept deactivating. The shower head was little more than a drip. Several places in the building had missing ceiling tiles and buckets beneath. A few stains on the sheets and window seat. Room was clean and decent otherwise. Pricing was fair. Not sure we would stay again if we found ourselves in need of a room in the area, honestly.

Everything was awesome! Breakfast was great. Very nice staff. Clean. Just had ceiling leaks in lobby. I’d definitely go back!!!

I was disappointed that the sidewalks and parking lot were not cleared after a snowstorm. Very quiet. Very few guests.

Holes in ceiling, ceiling tiles on 1st floor completely out pipes showing. Carpets stained. Floors sticky. Gum on lobby tables. Would have and should have walked out, but the charge was already on my credit card. Couldn’t get mobey back. Most disgusting place ever stayed at wonder if health department has seen this. Took pictures. Not sure it’s a safe place to be. Someone should inspect this place and not rent rooms here.!!!!!!!

Ceiling falling down in lobby. Not pet friendly even though it says it is. Charges you 250.00 for your pet. Only specific rooms are Available for pets. If you book the wrong room they will not let you stay. Staff was very rude and unhelpful. I took a refund and went to the next town to stay.

Sorry to say this was not a very pleasurable experience. The room was dated, while not filthy, not very clean. The hallway had ceiling tile missing, damaged plaster on the walls. The bed was comfortable and the room quiet. The lock on the back entrance door was not operating. The breakfast was fine, and the Mexican Restaurant down the highway was excellent.

I would not have stayed at this property if I had known a few things. The property is located up a steep and winding road. I was driving my motorhome. When I checked in, I was informed I couldn't park on the parking lot. There was less than 15 vehicles on the entire lot. I had to park my motorhome in a gravel lot, that you couldn't even turn around in, and that didn’t have any lighting. I felt very unsafe! When I went to take a shower, there were hairs on a shelf on the side of the tub where it looked like someone shaved. In the bottom of the tub was long hair. I was told if I damaged the gravel parking lot I would be charged $250. They wanted copies of both mine and my husband's driver's licenses - I've never heard of needing both. Check in took too long and they have too many rules that come with charges if you break the rules. And if we asked a question, the answer was, 'that's above my pay grade'. I definitely won't be staying here again and wouldn't recommend it.

Poor lighting on our floor, 3rd- end of hallway was completely dark- didn’t feel comfortable as a female traveling with my 13 year old daughter with very little lighting.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff was very pleasant. Recommend to anyone traveling to the area

The outside of the building is very nice, but that was it! The lobby was okay. The room, however, was very outdated and had stains EVERYWHERE!! This was more of a 50 dollars a night stay, not 100!

Certainly could have been better. My daughter and I checked in then went up to our room. We got to the room and noticed a yellow stain on the comforter right in plain site. We went back down to the front desk who apologized and got it taken care of we went back up to our room and gathered our wallets and went for a bite to eat came back at 7pm and when we got to our room I pulled back the comforter on the other bed and it had hair and makeup all over it. I just pulled the comforter back over it and slept on the top sheet that looked clean at least. Around 11pm someone tired coming into our room... This just was not the best experience for our first time.

The room was not cleaned and the bathroom was not clean. Looked like crumbs in the bed I was disappointed with this motel.

Stopped here while passing through on a road trip, while checking in the guy working the night shift did not understand what he was doing to check someone in. Once we finally got to the room in the sketchy elevator, the linens on the beds were yellow and see through with stains. There were stains all over the rugs too. Would not recommend staying here.

A bedbug was crawling in my 84 yr old mother at 8:30 at night as she slept in the bed!!! I want a refund for my rooms. The hotel said they would refund my money and Expedia didn’t! I am very disappointed that Expedia didn’t back me up and do the right thing and refund my money. I will never use Expedia again. I am putting this in social media. Along with the pictures of the bedbug on the hotel stationary and room cleaning ticket and stating that Expedia would not refund my money.

Clean, quiet, great place to stop on a road trip

There was not hot water a good majority of the time. The tv kept cutting out, and there were cockroaches.

The air conditioner didn't work in our room. They were booked solid and couldn't give us another room. 93 was the high that day and we were on the top floor!

The bath tub leaked all night long. Rooms were very warm and they didn’t want you to change the air units more than a couple degrees at a time to make sure the unit didn’t freeze so it took a while to get the room cool enough to sleep. The unit was very loud. Hard to sleep at night with so many different noises

Gentleman that checked us in was polite and courteous so no problems with the service. The biggest issue was the room itself. First, the room was very warm and did not cool down at all. Secondly, I took a very long time for the hot water to heat up to take a shower. The biggest complaint was the bed… It felt like a very old mattress. You could see it bowing in the middle and had absolutely no support whatsoever, which made it very difficult for two people to sleep on. The room is also incredibly small. Comparable rooms with other hotels had more space and cost less.

Positivt var at det var rent og der var dejligt varmt vand og en god bruser. Stedet ligger meget isoleret

We LOVED our room! The bedroom separated from the lounging area. Very roomy throughout. Comfy beds and not hardly any noise bleed through from adjoining rooms. Staff was great from check in until check out. Always available and friendly. We didn’t experience any concerning problems during our stay and would book here again!

Window was broken and double-glazing filled with dirt, wifi was so poor as to be unusable. Check-in was marred by me booking an upgrade through Hotels.com that was rejected but the only evidence of this was a note inconspicuously marked on the booking reference. Incidentally, the room was available :-(

Clean and comfortable. WiFi was very slow and kept stopping. Close to the highway but not so close that one could see it or hear it. Decent value for the price. Internet upgrade would be nice

Friendly, helpful people at the service desk . Overall clean room , except for food in the fridge. Maid service was clean towels ,wash cloths and packing up the trash. The biggest issue was the bed. My wife and I both agree that it was the hardest most uncomfortable bed we've ever tried to sleep on. Iwas tempted to go sleep in the suv.

The parking lot was not cleared of snow very dangerous walking. Its a pet friendly hotel but no signs saying you cant bring your pet in the lobby. Morning clerk at the desk was very rude about it. Will not stay here again

The front clerk Cassidy was fantastic. She assisted me in getting my hotels.com reservation changed because of an error with having a dog in the room I reserved.

We travel often for my daughters travel sports and this is hands down the worst hotel experience we've ever had. We stayed 2 nights. And no hot water. Were told at check in itll be on tomorrow. It was not. There was hardly anyone staying in hotel im assuming because it is so terrible so we asked for any sort of accommodation for the trouble since the hotel at this point was pointless. like a room with double beds or a discount on our stay because our sole purpose for the hotel was to take showers because our county had a major power outage. The general manager basically said F U not her problem. Obviously not that verbage but definitely that tone. Hotels.com called to attempt resolving the issue. General manager was just as rude to her. I dont know but if i hated my job as much as this lady clearly hates hers. I wouldnt work in customer service .

Only issue i has was with check in through hotels app when i arrived at the property, 2nd time it happened, i do online check in, then when i arrive the property tells me that the reservation is canceled through hotels.com, then they run check in a couple more times and magically it goes through. Otherwise this hotel is super convenient easy access from interstate and very clean.

Staff are really friendly

We didn’t even check in and stay. The front desk clerk had no idea what she was doing. I used Expedia points to pay, but the hotel and Expedia couldn’t communicate. So, We moved to a different hotel.

The manager was very unhelpful in checking us in. Possibly because I made the reservation online just before going to the hotel, the payment from Expedia had not processed yet. The manager Nancy acted like it was my problem and refused to check us in, and told me I needed to call Expedia. Very unprofessional and no concern for the client who had been traveling all day. I also suggested the manager handle the problem instead of letting her cork muddle through.

We arrived at the hotel and was told we booked a room through a 3rd party and there wasn’t a room available and to contact Expedia which we tried several times. The manager told was nothing she could do and to leave, we couldn’t find another room due to something going on for the weekend so we slept in our car in 40 degrees. Extremely upset. Being inhospitable myself the hotel should of offered to help us find something

We paid extra to have late checkout at 1:00 p.m. when we checked in at 2:00 a.m. in the morning they said that they do not allow late checkouts. We had tried to ride our motorcycle as long as we could knowing that we wasn't going to be here at the motel until at least 2:00 a.m. so when we booked we asked for late checkout and it as far as we know was approved. All suda machines were out of soda when we ask where the pop machines were the clerk gentleman working at the front desk told us where they were but never informed us that they were empty so I used my card to buy because it would not take cash which he informed me of charge my card twice and there was nothing in it and had not been for at least a month. When we first got there they put us on the third floor at the very end we after riding the motorcycle all day and half the night there was no water pressure or hot water for at least 20 minutes after I went down and asked if we could get closer to the water or at least hot water inform me that it takes 20 to 30 minutes for the hot water to reach this area. When we walked into the room the air conditioner was set on 60° which didn't bother me at all but was a little chilly at first. Definitely no water pressure . We travel a lot and we definitely will take this place off the list. I recommend going a little further down the road to flatwoods always been treated great and rooms are very nice water pressure is good.

Right off the highway but no road noise to disturb a good night's rest. This hotel offers an affordable and comfortable stay.

Really calm stay. Very convenient for a quick overnight. A convenience store and gas station down the road and many food options at a 10-minute drive.

IT WAS CLEAN AND CONVENIENT TO THE HIGHWAY EXIT and was moderate in cost.

Nice place to stay off the interstate while traveling. Easy to get to, safe & quiet. Gas station nearby & lots of parking.

Difficult to find. No direction signs once off of interstate. Rooms need serious makeovers. Very dated.

The hotel sits high on a hill in a very scenic location. Unfortunately the staff was very unfriendly.

Hotel itself great! Not many places to eat around there but we made it work. Lobby decorations for Easter awesome! Breakfast limited.

Just a couple of other business close by. Grown up with weeds surrounding the motel, very little landscaping .

The room was clean but outdated. There were no bedside lamps, just over-the-head-of-the-bed fluorescents that couldn't be dimmed. We decided to book because of the free breakfast. Unfortunately, it was not very plentiful, warm, or good. As well, there was almost no seating. Finally, the wifi was very weak and dropped continously. We felt that the room and breakfast were not a very good value for the money.

High on a hillside and convenient to sites. The breakfast was as good as any we have experienced in any motel chain.

How pleasant it was to find this very clean hidden gem of a hotel with friendly, efficient staff! And breakfast was good, too. Highly recommend.

It was clean and quite. A very nice complimentary breakfast. I dined at local Mexican restaurant. When I checked out in the morning the lady at reception advised of a bad accident on I-70 north. Really appreciated the heads up.

Convenient for a brief stop on our journey. Breakfast was basic, but met our needs. Budget hotel.

The breakfast was above average. The staff was very friendly, and helpful. Loved the mini kitchen. Everything was clean and nice.

Amazing experience, there are multi options for breakfast, definitely will return next time !!!
