No elevator and staff would not accommodate or request for a 1rst floor room. Rhey have very little parking space so you have to park on the street.

Clean rooms. Pool Sauna. Covered parking.

Nice hotel to stay at. Parking under the building or across a side street. Pool and spa are in good condition. Breakfast area is small, but offers a fair selection. Road side rooms can be a little noisy, not too bad.

Rooms are large and clean. Pool area was clean. Staff is friendly. Some rooms have the option of a door that opens into the hotel hallway and another door that opens to the parking lot which is convenient. Parking is limited onsite and the over flow parking lot is across the street.

Our room was very nice. It was a king room, and the bed was wonderful. It was one of the best beds we have ever had in a hotel. The room was also very spacious and comfortable. The parking was good and covered parking. That could help in Hancock in the winter. On the second floor they had a large, elevated patio space that would be good for an outdoor sitting area to relax. The not so good; there is no elevator. If you have mobility problems, you should know that and do everything you can to request a first-floor room. We did not explore the layout of the hotel, but it looked like there were some areas on the first floor that also required you to climb a few steps. The next issue was breakfast. To be fair, they make it very clear on their signage it is a "continental breakfast". Most name brand hotels also say this, but they have a decent spread. Here, it is almost all carbs, cereal, or yogurt. As an added bonus, it is a big hotel, and the breakfast area is tiny! We couldn't find a seat, so we were just going to take some food back to the room, but the room is so small you could barely move, then when we saw the food, we knew we were going to need to find a restaurant. We were there two nights and going out for breakfast added to the cost of the stay. I will also say, for what they charge a night, they could afford to have a decent breakfast. This was not a low-end hotel pricewise. We would stay again, for the room and the bed, but we'd be wiser.

Very nice for a remodeled motel ( formally a Best Wetern) newer up dates work well. WI-FI isn’t very good. Staff was good and over experience was good.

Our 1st visit to the upper U.P. ❤️. Eastern standard time zone was cool. Our 2 night stay was SPOT ON, PERFECT! Continental breakfast, sufficient. Pool/hot tub/sauna = AbsolutelyPositively to iur satisfaction! Uncle's Cafe around the corner, yummmmmm. Walkable. Friendly staff, guests anyone encountered IN both Hancock & Houghton. Came for Bash at the Bay in Dollar Bay MI which was 5 mins away. Such a beautiful area to visit and ENJOY ALL YOU DO there! Copper Harbor is an hr North...a MUST VISIT!

I stayed at the Magnuson Hotel Copper Crown while on a weekend trip through the UP and I couldn't recommend it enough. The hotel is older, but my room was extremely clean and comfortable. The hotel also has covered parking, a hotel, and a hot tub - which was awesome! Given the price and the walking distance to downtown Houghton, it's a no brainer to stay here.

Very clean property. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would have liked a microwave in our room but there was one available for use on a lower level.

It seemed run down. The halls and room had a bad odor that made everything else about it less pleasant. The beds were very comfortable and breakfast was quite good but the place needs a little TLC.

Read the description in its entirety, the summary glosses over much. Very dated built around 1967 No elevator, 2nd floor is 2 full flights up. Helpful front desk when we were worried about the stairs. Clean generally but the coffee pot in the room had mold in it. We had a very noisy room over busy road and thin walls that allowed us to hear the return of the next room after a long night out with maybe a cab driver or the police. Breakfast is limited, waffles, toast, instant oatmeal, limited breakfast cereal, packaged muffins and a few apples, coffee and tea.

We were given a queen room towards the front of the hotel that was separate from the main building. Our window faced a brick wall and we could see towards the neighbors in the back where a building was being demolished. Not great. Room had a mildew smell. Carpet was dirty. Shower curtain was not useful as the floor would get soaked.

The memory foam beds are perfect! The room was very clean and beds were impeccably made. Older facility, but carpet felt clean and the whole building was clean from my perspective. Attendants available 24/7. The shower drain was a bit slow. Pool and hot tub area looked nice and the staff was happy to start up a sauna for another guest. I stayed in room 243/43 which is a bit awkward with the upper deck right outside the windows. I just kept the curtains closed. Not my preference, but my comfort in the room made up for it. I look forward to staying here again!

Good , convenient place to stay . Staff excellent , towels , soaps really nice . Parking was really convenient as was check in check out . Continental breakfast was adequate but not great. The hotel is older and there were scrapes in the sink and the dining area was small and plain with old tables and chairs . The bathroom had a heater with a temperature control knob on the wall which was nice and there was plenty of hot water . WiFi wasn’t good .

Didn’t have the correct room that I selected, cleanliness was horrible, conditions were super outdated , two lights we inoperable, tv didn’t work, will never go back or recommend

Good bed. Dirty carpet. Dirty upholstered chairs in breakfast room. No kleenex in room. No coffee available for breakfast until we asked 3 times. Not recommended.

The hotel is clean and comfortable. It is showing its age but seems well-maintained. The building layout is non-typical and is not accessible for those with mobility impairments. However, it served my need, for a room to stay the night, very well.

Pretty old, thin walls, 24” TV…

This hotel is older but I liked the idea of both an inside and outside entrance. I also liked the idea of having the shampoo/conditioner dispenser mounted on the wall of the shower. The carpet was old and the toilet was too low to the ground. The checkin with Elizabeth was smooth and easy.

Our recent stay at the Hotel Copper Crown in Hancock, MI was a very pleasant one. The rooms are large & roomy. It was quiet; better than most places we stayed. The bed was so comfortable & I love the pillows. Had a good night's sleep. I would recommend this place as an option.

Definitely in need of updating, room showed wear and tear and thin walls. Our stay was three nights only one maid visit. Which I should have put the DND sign on the door. Luckily that day we weren't out all day. We came back to the room After a few hours to find the window unlocked and wide open. This was a first floor window facing an alley. Wasn't a comfortable feeling. Luckily nothing was missing.

Not sure this is worth a $320 overnight stay. Check in was easy, very nice staff. Easy walk to a beer garden on the water. Breakfast didn’t look appetizing. Shower pressure had issues and the temp would drop unexpectedly. Dramatic drop.

Somewhat dated hotel, but clean with large rooms. Comfortable beds. Friendly check in. Breakfast was your average hotel breakfast.

The staff here is very friendly and eager to help. The room was very clean and well-stocked too. Bring your own drinking water though, as there isn't any available in the hotel.

Our stay was generally good except for the check-in. When I made the reservation via Hotels.com I asked for a first floor room, if possible. (We're senior citizens and prefer not to carry luggage up stairs.) When we got there the clerk told us they had several 1st floor rooms available, but Expedia had already booked us into a 2nd floor room and she could not change it. I tried to contact Expedia to change or cancel our reservation, but could only get a useless Chatbot. Luckily, after about 1/2 hour of frustrating noncommunication with Expedia, a manager showed up and switched us to a 1st floor room. But if he hadn't shown up we would have been stuck with a 2nd floor room for 5 days, despite the availability of 1 floor rooms. I don't understand why Expedia booked us into a 2nd floor room.

Excellent check-in. The front desk person was very personable and very professional which made our hotel experience an excellent one. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would highly recommend this property.

The location is between two one way streets making it harder to get to. The sign for the hotel is easy to miss.

The only thing that could use some work is the breakfast options. Would have been nice to have some biscuits and gravy. A second microwave in the cafeteria area would help with congestion when trying to heat up the breakfast sandwiches offered. Coffee was empty when we tried to get some.

It is actually a decent place to stay. Rooms are good sized although dated. Breakfast is continental bit with waffles so something. Most food choices are on opposite side of the river. Water pressure in shower was bad and almost nothing at one point. I thought I might have to fill ice bucket from tub and dump on myself. Decent for the area and the price.

It was fine. The parking situation (even with the extra lot across the street) was a little dicey if you got back late. Cars were even parked across the entrance to the lot one night. The most unfortunate thing was the inconsistent water temperature in the shower. Fluctuating from too hot to freezing cold several times during a 10 minute shower. But the staff were nice and the breakfast was decent. The rooms were clean and good sized.

This is very dated hotel. The locks are the doors are not safe. Wooden doors with old locks. Very easy to be broken into. There is no elevator, our room was on the second floor therefore we needed to haul our crap upstairs. Breakfast was not very exciting. Typical waffle and a couple of yogurts. No fruit or breads.
