Workers were friendly, beds were very comfortable but the whole hotel was so hot! It was in the mid 70's outside and lobby was 75 degree, made breakfast room hot. The room air conditioner took long time to get down to comfortable temp. The pool is nice but again so hot! Was set to 81 degrees. I went to front desk to ask about if able to turn down a little and told no, its just always that hot. They do have a nice outside sitting area in front and back of hotel.

The pool needs a good scrubbing and the carpets in the open areas and room need vacuumed everywhere including under the desks and around the sides of the beds. Otherwise this is a nice hotel to stay at, as we have been here several times before.

Came to stay to visit family for the 4th of july. Stayed in room 226, the bathtub didnt drain, no one cleaned our room the entire time we were there, had to ask for new towels and toilet paper, came back to the room only to find out it was still open because the door didnt latch correctly. Once you open from the inside, you have to remember to turn the handle again to get the latch unstuck so the door will then lock behind you.

This hotel is getting rather run down, and we had numerous issues with our stay. First disappointment was the fact that our door lock stuck EVERY SINGLE TIME we tried to use it. It would take anywhere from 5-20 swipes before the door would finally open. Informed the front desk, and they said, yeah, it does that - try pushing the handle up instead of down (that did not help). Extremely frustrating when you're just trying to open your door! Secondly, we had NO television for the 4 full days we were there. They have Direct TV, and I know that they should have been able to get it up and running within that timeframe. Pretty boring sitting in the room in the evening with no TV. Independence does not exactly have a thriving night life, so not a lot of options to pass time. Again, we were there for 4 days, and there was absolutely NO housekeeping service. We had to ask for clean towels, had to ask for toilet paper for the room, and the trash can was overflowing at the end of 4 days. I would have at least expected the bed to be made and the room to be refreshed daily. We have stayed at this location in the past and had no issues, so I don't know if there is new ownership or what the issue is, but we will most likely find somewhere else to stay the next time we are in town. It's a shame, because this hotel used to be nice.

Our door to our room did not close, the water pipes were having issues, the couches were dirty and the pillows were not good. The room besides that was decently clean and the bed was pretty comfy. Had an issue with the heating system. We could not get the room temperature above 58 degrees. Called the front desk once and no answer. Went to the front desk twice and no one there. It was a cold miserable night. Breakfast was a joke. Everything was stale and old. The hardboiled eggs had a green color and smelled bad. The bread and cereal were stale and hard. Again no one around. The pool was not opened up until 9am when was suppose to open at 7am. Overall, an unpleasant and uncomfortable stay will definitely find another place to stay next time.

The room access door swipe cards (keys) are the old, magnetic strip-type. There are better working door key systems that use chip technology. My door swipe card worked intermittently, requiring repeated swipes to get access to my room. Irritating! Bath: It took 2 minuets of water flow to get hot water in either the sink or bathtub. Unacceptable! Thank-you for taking my report.

We did eat breakfast there and it was 1/2 hour before they were shutting it down. Pretty much every hot item was gone and nothing restocked. My only advice is go to breakfast early. Everything was good other than that. I would recommend staying.
