La Maison Du Mile-End

We had a terrible experience with this stay and ultimately left immediately after arriving without even using the room. The listing was extremely unclear about how much of the property is shared. The bathroom is shared, which we did not realize until receiving the check-in details, and the kitchen is shared among four other rooms. When we arrived, there were dirty dishes sitting in the sink and old pans left on the stove. There is also essentially no privacy. You can hear everything happening outside your room. There is no official bag drop or staff on site. We were simply told to leave our luggage at the top of a staircase, which did not feel secure or professional. Once we received the check-in information and realized the bathroom situation was not what we expected based on the listing, we immediately contacted the property and asked to leave. We did not stay in or use the room at all. What made the experience especially frustrating was how the property handled it afterward. We reached out hoping they would acknowledge how unclear the listing was and work with us on a refund. We received no response for an entire week, and when they finally responded, they simply denied our request. Had the shared bathroom, shared kitchen, lack of staff, and overall setup been made much clearer upfront, we never would have booked this property. We gave an opportunity to make the situation right and were extremely disappointed with how it was handled. I would not recommend staying here

This B&B should be avoided at all costs. The overall cleanliness was atrocious. The amenities were deteriorated & beyond shabby. At one point there was no Toilet Paper in the shared Bathroom. The kitchen was filled with flies & highly unsanitary. We chose not to eat there due to concerns over health & safety. Hallway lights were turned off after midnight which is questionable when trying to access a shared bathroom at night in the dark. We were very disappointed, choosing to only sleep at the venue as the bedding was the only clean aspect of our stay.

Very poor cleanliness of the floors, bathrooms, balconies, kitchen appliances and cupboards. Bedding was clean. Air conditioner leaked dreadfully when it rained outside, and only the fan worked when the AC was turned on. Terrible check-in situation, with absolutely no way to contact staff for help. (Written answer to email arrived after 6 days, and we had already checked out) Toilet paper was rationed and only refilled after requested. We were there 6 days and the only time any floor was swept was when we did it ourselves. Floor door jamb on balcony door was completely broken off and the lock to the balcony door did not function. Staff smoked right outside the open exterior doors and his smoke drifted in. The $170+ we averaged per night was astronomical for what we experienced.
