Americas Best Value Inn & Suites Macon at Sunset Dr

You never know what you’re going to get with America’s Best Value. We’ve stayed in some that were 4 star and some that should be 1 star. The room here was ok but the parking area and beyond was horrendous. They welcomed dogs but had no grass anywhere for them to do their business. I clean up after my dogs so that would be an issue. If this were in the city, there’s no way I would have got past the outside.

Its a great place to stop & sleep. Pictures should be updated as there isnt a pool. Not that we would use it. More of an FYI And they allow pers which is a huge win for us.

They are friendly and pet friendly. They are really good with us having our two ESA pets. Its quite and can park right in front of our room with is good for us with both of us handicap.

I have stayed there many times, its always clean but it is getting quite run down, needs a face lift and the walls need fixed, wallpaper is coming off of them. But it is affordable and not too much out of the way, which does make it nice and quiet. Parking lot needs fixed too, lots of pot holes in it, and bummed that they no longer have a pool there.

But there were spider webs in the shower, the refrigerator leaked, the ac barely kept the room cool. The parking lot was run down and you came in from behind the hotel which was also kind of sketchy.

What a dive. No swimming pool as advertised. Mostly construction workers staying there. Room appeared moldy on the bathroom ceiling and floor. Would not let us cancel because we booked online. I definitely would not bring children here.

This property is in extreme disrepair. The pictures on the website do not give a current representation of the condition of this property. There is no pool - it has been filled in and planted with roses. The room was clean but it smelled awful, possibly from the aging air conditioner. The lobby is not inviting and I would not even try their coffee machine. It is good enough for a semi-cheap bed and bath.

We stade for the cheap room but they don't tall you that you have to pay a extra $80 for dogs and the room was clean.

The heating system is outdated. The room was filthy, there was toothpaste spray still on bathroom sink and black pubic looking hair on the sink also. Will NEVER stay here again

It was less than I expected in cleanliness. There was an odor as we walked into the room. The light in the bathroom had dead bugs in it. There were live bugs in the bathroom. I wouldn't recommend this place unless there is no other hotel room available in Macon, MO.

False advertisement. The property is nothing like what was advertised. Dead bugs on the floor and under mattress.

Dated, Seedy characters watching me from outside as I pulled up. Looked like residents who were staying the extendedly. Everything was very dated. Spiders and insects in the room and bathroom. Noisy air conditioning unit that woke me up frequently kicking on. Couldn't wait to get away from there. No receipt from front desk. Left early with no one at desk to interact with. Might have left if there were other choices but other hotels had filled up. Won't be returning.

I asked to change rooms and they insisted that they have no other rooms but the hotel wasn’t packed at all. Then when I asked for a refund they gave me a hard time and told me they can’t help me at all so I had to reach out to Expedia to help me..

Love the beds, so comfortable! Room and bathroom clean and nice. Larger mini fridge that actually gets cold. Convenient microwave and coffee maker in room. Friendly staff :) My only complaint is the front window near the parking area, the light from the sidewalk comes in at night (we light our room dark while sleeping) there was no way to block the bright lights from coming in above and below the curtains, if that was fixed this room would be perfect! The property is just outside of town (not too far) and so peaceful and quiet, overall, we loved it! We would stay here again and will recommend to others. :)

Front door wouldn't close properly. & wouldn't lock until it was slammed & pushed repeatedly. Black mold on shower curtain. Heater in bathroom didn't work. No bathroom exhaust fan. Silverfish in shower. Bed was setting on too high of a base which made it hard to get into. Overall a very unpleasant stay.

Owners/Managers we're really nice. You can see they care about their business and property. They are improving things as they are able. Beautiful flowers were planted to greet guests, as you came up to the lobby. They were helpful in answering questions. Room was very clean. Bed was comfortable. Shower worked great. Hot water, etc.

The stench of water damage and mildew from the ceiling over the entry door, window, and shower was overwhelming. We all ended up with horrible headaches and had to leave before morning because it got so bad. Staff didn't care and they have signs saying Online Bookers will NOT receive Refunds. This is because nothing is as shown online. This is an old motels someone bought and did basic cosmetic repairs to appear liveable. Then used the previous owners' pictures for their online ads. Staff is unhelpful and could care less. Horrible experience!!

The room was booked to have somewhere decent to crash during a long road trip. Dated decor wasn't an issue (for $70 I wasn't expecting it to be The Four Seasons) and it was surprisingly quiet for an off-highway motel. Electric heating was effective but it pinged, had to turn it off. As for values, what do you value in hospitality? Backstory: the room was booked 5 minutes before I showed up, never an issue with many previous last-minute bookings made thru hotels.com. But the night attendant said I'd have to wait 45 minutes before the booking showed up on his computer, and then got a spiel about how "people expect to click a button and get in their room" (in so many words). Offered cash to secure the room and figure out the rest in the AM, but he said no, that they'd been ripped off before, that he had to follow protocol, & that there'd be someone else at the front desk who wouldn't know what was going on. I said "that's what writing notes are for" but that went over his head. Said there'd be coffee and pastries in the AM. Ended up getting in my room in 10 minutes, but it was a >>stressful<< experience. In the AM, someone else was doing checkouts, chain-smoking outside. He offered coffee (awful). And after admitting he was slacking by not putting anything else out for b'fast, offered me a honey bun out of a box.

Older hotel off the highway. Staff was prompt and attentive at check in. The hotel is older but you can tell that the owner has been updating and keeping it clean. I was impressed with the value for the price. I would stay again.

Property was a little out of the way. A mile and a half off main highway. Didn't like A/C units. Close to floor. Had to use cell phone flashlight to see & had to practically stand on head to read. Stayed two different nights. Not consecutively. Breakfast could have been better. Nothing hot except coffee & toast. Had butter for toast, but no jelly. Had cream cheese, but it was plain. Had Honey Buns & Danish. (very few). Bread for toast in a bread loaf with twisty tie. Milk, OJ, & Apple juice. Minimal. Second breakfast,made coffee in room, got a cup of milk & danish. Second night, a/c wrked but got too cold Tried to set it warmer, but couldn't really see well. No matter what I pushed it ran 2 minute's then shut off for 10 minutes. So from 3 am until 5 am I couldn't get to sleep. Really poor night. Why would any Motel put the a/c units be put so low??

Had to travel to Macon Missouri to be with family. Found America's best value online. I was pleased that it was close to town, and it was comfortable and clean. Mostly needed a place to sleep.
