Beach Place Hotel

We got the two room apartment. Lot of space Very clean Comfortable bed Internet speed could be better Pool and services (towel, humbrella and chair for use at the beach) very welcome

Everything was good, the people working there are very professional and polite. The pool was clean and the whole space was good. Close to the beach, if you don’t have chair or umbrella they have for the guest. I like the place

The hotel was older but well maintained and very quaint. It was close to a beautiful beach but the hotel pool was NOT heated as advertised

The motel itself was mediocre. Seemed old and not well maintained/updated. There are two old beach chairs and one small umbrella available for the whole place. Our key cards de-magnetized twice. There is no way to heat food in the room, only a refrigerator and coffee maker. The mattresses were not comfortable. The wifi basically did not work - it was such a weak connection that we did better using cell data because the wifi disconnected so frequently. In good news, the motel is a block to the ocean, and that location balances out the low quality room.

The door to the room had issues reading the card, it was always an issue when returning. There was a gap around the bottom and right corner of door that light came in. Not enough parking. We had to park behind the building, people visiting the public beach would park there to avoid paying for parking. There was a man living in his pick up truck behind the hotel. It smelled damp, musty. People smoked cigarettes and pot on the balcony and you could smell it in the room. It was very, very, very noisy at night, the music and traffic from cars would make me never ever stay there again, even if it was free.

This is a fantastic little hotel. If you’re looking for luxury this isn’t for you!! If your looking for quiet clean and wonderful staff this place is for you. It’s close to the beach and they provide chairs and umbrellas to take with you. The internet was failing when we were there. We stayed for a couple days before our cruise. Would stay there again.

We had mixed feelings about this hotel. We chose it because of the kitchenette and ample parking (which is rare in Miami Beach area). Both of those aspects were great. In many ways the hotel was excellent. They provided cups plates and cooking pans, even with washing up liquid. It was well thought out. The shower was powerful and hot, and the hotel was just over the road from north beach area. There were ample electric sockets in useful positions for charging. You could ask for beach/pool towels and take chairs and umbrellas over to the beach. The swimming pool was very clean and well looked after, and we enjoyed sitting out at the tables there, even though the road was nearby. We cooked our own food and there was a Publix a short drive away. But somehow, despite having everything we needed, the rooms just felt a little dingy, and we didn’t really enjoy being there. There was a horrible cleaning fluid smell which other reviews had mentioned. We thought it couldn’t really be that bad, but it was and it nearly made us leave the first night, but thankfully wore off over the few days we were there. I think the main bonus of this hotel is the ease of parking, and I would only stay here if I planned to drive to places. We drove to South Beach a few times and parked fine. Another time I think I would stay out of the city and drive in.

There was a false eyelash on the floor Tiles missing off bathroom floor - you cannot walk on it without shoes Extreme stains on carpets No sound proofing - can hear everything from the neighbours. Cars racing at all hours down the road, very noisy We paid $300 for 1 night and got this!

The host at check in was great. But the place was not clean, I saw a roach in the bathroom and other bugs and insects in the room. Toilet and shower is one floor so you have to step in a wet floor to use the bathroom. The host i spoke to in the morning to try to change rooms was not customer service oriented.I spent the night not sleeping and had to drive back to Tampa in the morning because I didn’t have money for another property. So I lost the money for that day leaving the place at 9:30 am.

I am so grateful that the housekeeping found my tempurpedic pillow and gave it to the front desk. I picked it up a few days later. The room was clean. Right by the beach. There was a funky smell, but that may be because of the humidity and moisture.

I was greeted with the fact that my id and reservation did not match and that I had not responded to an email advising me of this. I had no email whatsoever. The attendant was very curt and frustrated with me for not receiving their correspondence. When we rectified that I was assigned the wrong room. When I gave them notice of that, they tried to rebuke me until I showed the listing. It took a while for them to find the appropriate room. The overwhelming smell of room freshener was awful. When I aired out the odor, I found out it was to cover the mildew and mold odors. I then found later that evening that one of the windows was broken and would not close all the way. I had a 4 1/2 hour drive and needed an efficiency with a full refrigerator for work purposes and did not have a choice but to stay. I will not recommend this place to anyone and you definitely get what you pay for. Awful stay. Awful space. I wish I could have a refund.

Far from everything, like 20-mins to the restaurants located on North Beach. Place is cheap for the price and can use the renovation. I do agree that the room smells so bad! The cleaning solution or whatever it was is very strong. It gave me an headache!

The receptionist was very helpful. The room was clean and everything worked well. My only complaint would be that our room, no 100, was very close to a extremely noisy road. Ot was more like being next to a race track.

I like the location as it's near the beach. The downfall is the traffic going by is loud. The ac can drown out the sound though. The room is good size.

Great sized rooms in a convenient location. Staff was friendly and accommodating. 24 hour front desk service. Newly updated bathroom felt clean. The bed was not so comfortable. I would stay here again.

The AC in the room is abnormally loud, no spoons in the room, bath tub is not clean, internet is very slow and weak. Would rate them 3/10 and would not recommend this place for anyone

We stayed in a larger apartment style room. There was plenty of space, very clean, and beds were comfortable. However it was very outdated and the windows and doors badly need replacing. The main building and smaller rooms were much more updated. Beach was very close but not as close as pictures lead one to believe. Staff was friendly and the pool was perfect!

It's an older hotel but reasonably priced for the location; a short walk to the beach. The room was spacious and clean.

Good location. Super old. Very dated carpet, furniture, bedding. Clean though. Doing the best they can. Feels like most units are for residents.

Rooms are nice and complete although a bit outdated. Location is near the beach and towels and chairs/umbrellas are freely available. Ice cubes and fresh water too. Street is busy, main connection.

Argue about resort fee there is no pool they don't tell you their are no resort amenities at the moment before booking also there is no air conditioning in the room front desk doesn't care and never send anyone to help you jus spend your days waiting and nothing gets done very rude staff to

Booked this place last minute and the staff were kind enough to allow us to check in early. Very nice place, very clean. Pool area was well kept. If I came back to Miami I would stay here again

We gave $100 USD hold on my partner's card and she still hasnt gotten it back

There was a staff named Helen that was sweet to us. She showed us how to get to places (using the trolley) and provided with anything we didn’t have in the rooms.

It is noisy being right on a main road, but nothing that earplugs can\'t solve. Service from the front desk was polite and efficient on checkin and checkout. Other than the beach, there isn\'t really anything to walk to, but a few blocks in either direction will get you to lots of shops and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

The staff is incredibly helpful and considerate. I had to come for the death of an immediate family member and was a wreck when I arrived, the front desk agent was so polite, kind and understanding making the check in process smooth. The remainder of my time there all the staff I encountered were very helpful and considerate. The property is older but the cleanliness is good and seeing the bldg maintenance crews working showed how they cared to keep it well maintained. The pool area was very clean. The only thing that was a slight problem was the tv but quite frankly I can’t imagine who comes to Miami, Bay Harbor Island’s area to watch tv. I came for an awful reason but they made my time here at the hotel very nice.

The location is great for me. Right across the street from the beach & right between bus stops to get you anywhere. The property is obviously dated, but they work pretty hard to keep it up. The maintenance guy is awesome. The housekeepers claim to not know ANY English, which I don't believe, but it saves them a lot of time & work I'm sure.

A single block from the beach and easy access to all of the main streets of Surfside. Generally MUCH chiller than the southern side of the island.

First and foremost it was a good stay. They had great parking, very close to the beach, friendly staff and it was clean. It’s definitely an older property. If you’re looking for somewhere with easy parking, easy beach access and the bare basics. Stay here.

staff is nice, check in easy, i had a kitcheotte room so cool it had an iron, coffee maker, dishes, microwave, safe, ocean across from hotel where you can run… tv limited channels and dont park in front cause its a lil difficult at times with traffic and how the property is at a curve… this is a minor thing. ac works great. free trolleys and bus walkable. 10-12 blocks for a grocery store publix and cvs/walgreens the other say. cool place to sit outside on the balcony and chill

Good rates. Close to beach No stores or restaurants within walking distance. Half of parking spaces require backing out onto a busy state highway. Housekeeping doesn't make second attempt if Do Not Disturb sign is out the first time.
