The whirlpool was out of order. There is no hotel parking. It is overpriced. Television is internet based and was constantly buffering. It is in a convenient location and is clean. It does have an upscale look but other hotels within 15 minutes of Middletown are less than half the price for the same quality.

First it’s important to note that the staff are wonderful and trying to do their best, but amenities you pay for and expect are lacking - or they were on our stay. Neither the pool or hot tub were working, and we weren’t informed about this on arrival. We had to discover it. There wasn’t even a towel by the cold pool. One of the exercise treadmills wasn’t working, and again no signage was present. Tea was available in the lobby but no hot water. (One of the very nice restaurant staff gave me a teapot of hot water to bring to our room.) Our tv remote wasn’t working, and after the front desk staff attempted to get it to work (he was great), the staff member concluded we didn’t have the correct remote. Lots of little details and attention to the property would have made this a great stay; however in the end, we were very disappointed.

The Inn at Middletown is the only option in town and they price accordingly. The hotel is mostly clean and well run, but not a $400-$500 a night property. Parking in back takes you through an alley where the dumpsters are located, which doesn’t feel safe at night. The rooms and common areas feel more like a Hilton or other chain. They also add a $23 a night property fee that they say is for amenities. When I asked what the amenities were, they said cookies and coffee in the lobby. Staff are friendly and helpful and it is super convenient to Wesleyan.

We had a lovely stay. It is a beautiful old property. I do wish they did a better job of indicating where the parking is. The signage is rather inadequate. We did have to change rooms as the AC in our initial room wasn't functioning. I was a bit disappointed that the staff member that dealt with that ignored the actual engineer in the room (me) and would only listen to my husband. But he did get us moved without a fuss did which I appreciate.

More of a motel than an expensive inn. Overpriced. Swimming was laughably small - probably for photos. Friendly staff. Resort fee! It was removed when we complained.

The hotel itself was nice, but our room was not great. It just simply wasn’t clean. There were spots of a sticky liquid on the bedside table. I also found several pieces of food (lettuce) under the bedside table. The bathroom floor was also very sticky.

Comfy bed but overall the room is not very clean. Dusty surfaces, behind and around furniture is not vacuumed etc. Handrail in shower came off by just a gentle use. Overall, nice looking facility that could use a basic deep clean As the only hotel in town, it would be great to see them improve their overall cleanliness before I would stay again

Rooms are updated with comfortable beds and lovely bedding. Bath is updated as well, with strong water pressure and plenty of hot water! All very clean! Highly recommend!

Check in was fast, we actually registered online. Parking was a little confusing, not well marked but we worked it out. Lifts to upper floors were fast. Rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. Bathroom was well supplied with toiletries and towels. Very comfortable stay

Based on the high price, we were looking forward to staying in the lap of luxury. It was anything but. Upon entering the building we immediately noticed a strong odor of mildew. On first glance, our room was lovely and spacious with a nice bathroom. However, it lacked many of the amenities that we have found in lower priced hotels; there was no shower cap, no makeup mirror, no pen and no safe. The mattresses were also a bit worn and disappointing. We chose this hotel for its proximity to an event that we were attending. Next time we will travel a little farther to stay in a chain hotel that is more dependable.

Exceptionally clean, very comfortable bed, good reading chair … We had our dog with us and they had a first floor room available near an exit close to the free parking. Very pleasant park right across the street.

Hotel in great location in town. Only issue is that the bedding was clean but kinda damp. Was strange. Almost like the room was humid so sheets couldn’t dry? Not sure, but made it less comfortable to sleep

We arrived at 4 AM as our flight was delayed for several hours, and the front desk staff stayed overtime to accommodate us. The hotel was very clean and aesthetically pleasing, and the bed was very comfortable.

It just needs a nice overhaul. The bathroom has mold in it, and the elevators aren’t clean… but what did make this stay better was the restaurant, and more specifically, the bar at the restaurant. The bartender was absolutely amazing and erased all the average and bad feelings away. She was friendly and chatting it up with all the guests at the bar. It was just some guests at the hotel and her alone handling the service of the restaurant. Two thumbs up for the bartender. She made it all worthwhile- and I think all the guests would agree!

Good stay at inn located right in Middletown. Very clean, comfortable updated room. Location perfect for visit with grandchild attending Wesleyan Univ. Good restaurants close by. Will stay again.

Great accommodations! Beautiful boutique hotel centrally located. Clean well appointed rooms. Beautiful. Only thing we had an issue with was temperature in the room. Could not cook it down to our liking. (Rm 303).

The Inn is convenient to downtown as well as Wesleyan. We were assigned rooms 20 & 21 which were on the ground floor which abutted the parking and trash area and back access door. Every time someone accessed the back doors, our rooms would shake - enough to wake me up. And, then at the 5am the garage truck collected the trash from the adjacent alley which again, woke us up. The hotel is the best choice in town but be sure to ask for a room on a higher floor.

Wonderful hotel...newly renovated. Great breakfast at the Tavern, dinner would have been great too. Room was very spacious and beds comfortable. Really liked the decore sort of modern colonial. Fresh cookies at the desk and got to grab a glass of wine from the bar to take to the room. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Id stay again if ever in Middletown!

The front desk staff were fantastic, and Darcy in the bar is a sweetheart. However the woman who answers the phone for room service was so rude. The first time I called she immediately said could I call back later because they were too busy. Not polite, and pretty rude. I waited an hour and called back again and same woman said that because it was 8:59pm and they stopped taking orders at 9pm she couldn't take my order. There is nothing in the room to say that, and she never mentioned it the first time I called. I explained what happened and she basically hung up on me!! I was staying with my sister who was very sick. It was a very stressful visit and that woman made it worse. I had to leave my sick sister alone in our room to get a take out pizza. Very disappointing.

The Inn is a neat property but feels a bit old and stuffy. Our room had a lot of small flies in the bathroom and the fan did not seem to work at all. It was really hard to connect with the hotel via phone - took numerous phone calls. The hotel does not seem staffed appropriately as the front desk person was doing multiple things and often was not at desk or able to answer calls. An answering service is needed.

We enjoyed our first visit at the Inn. We were in the area to watch the golf tournament in Cromwell. The staff were very friendly and helpful whenever we had a question. After returning from the tournament we enjoyed a nice beverage in the bar area. Although we thought that the menu options for the restaurant were a bit limited so we chose another restaurant to have dinner.

The Inn is a great spot for us to stay as we visit our son at Wesleyan. The young man at the front desk at check in was most helpful. He gave us a $10 voucher for the Tavern and told us about the family discount for stays while visiting Wesleyan students. Lisa, at the bar, was friendly and made us feel at home. We will definitely be staying again.

This place was great! We really enjoyed the pretty suite we got and the staff was super nice. But the restaurant is pretty average. The breakfast was a buffet which was okay. But the French toast was just small pathetic slices of bread. Food wasn’t the best. But we really loved the hotel part.

The parking was inconvenient. Coming in the back of the building felt weird and discomforting. There was also no proper signage for parking. You were unsure of the parking situation. In addition, The restaurant took forever to open and only one person working to serve customers while being a bartender. Very strange. The price of water $5! Unacceptable. At the airport it is $3 - so why $5? The staff was friendly however the small details can affect your business for repeat customers.

Free parking is available behind the hotel. A number of good restaurants open to 10pm are within a few minutes walk. However, they are not open for breakfast and the on-premises restaurant, Tavern at the Armory, is only open for dinner. There is no convenient grocery store. So finding breakfast can be a challenge. Service at Tavern at the Armory is very slow and I would not recommend it.

There was an issue with the ac but they moved us to another room with no issue. Very friendly front desk, ate dinner and breakfast in the Tavern. Bartender (Darcy) was awesome and the food was great at both meals! The Inn's location is great! So many restaurants within walking distance! Will stay again!

We enjoyed our first visit at the Inn. We were in the area to watch the golf tournament in Cromwell. The staff were very friendly and helpful whenever we had a question.
