Pool and hot tub nasty

It was $68 a night so I’m not expecting the Ritz-Carlton. It was a great place to use the beach and crash for the night. No frills lots of kids. The pool is dirty. I wouldn’t go in the hot tub. The staff was very nice. I have no problems with this place for the price they were asking. If I wanted basic, I probably would stay there again.

The wife and I booked a last-minute Labor Day weekend consisting of Friday night through Monday morning. Upon arrival, we were sad to find out that the property as big as it is only had one operable elevator. I’m handicap and they offered no handicap parking. But I believe the worst thing that needs to be mentioned is we suffered the whole weekend without Wi-Fi. I spoke to several staff members including a manager. All I got was lies. The hotel information states free Wi-Fi but we never seen it. Needless to say, I would be extremely hesitant to book there again.

Great room layout. Mattresses were not very comfortable. Pool was clean and comfortable. Hot tub did not work.

The location of the property was great. The property, elevators, balcony,breezeways, rooms was run down. The pool was nice. Our room was dirty. Long strands of Hair on the floor clearly visible. Was not rowdy or loud in the evening. Walking distance to a Winn Dixie and McDonalds. Had to park across the street.

Only objective, not enough parking on the premises we had to park across the road.

Priced reasonable, friendly staff. Construction in front of hotel made it inconvenient in mid July. Room had kitchenette. Could not bake biscuits while cooking on stove top. Had to do one at a time. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

This property is currently being updated; therefore, construction dumpsters, etc., are present, limiting parking. Pictures on your site should be updated. The room was adequate, but cleaning services are lacking. We constantly had overflowing garbage cans in the hallway next to our door. The hot tub did not work during our entire stay. We kept informing staff, yet nothing was done. Our balcony had no chairs for sitting. We notified the front desk, and it still took two days for two chairs to be brought. Although the price per night was a selling point, next time we will spend our money elsewhere.

When we arrived the room wasn't ready. We had to wait 2 hours longer just to get in a room. It was not the room that we reserved. There wasn't hardly any parking so we had to park across the street!!! No breakfast and very run down!!!

I have stayed at this hotel many times over last 10 years. I usually have no issues. Unfortunately thats not the case this time. PARKING WAS INSANE. Had to wait until exactly 4 pm to check in. Once we got in the room under the sink was moldy. No silverware. Door between rooms was poorly fitted so we had hard time getting it open. The tv was cracked. Oh and there are no longer ice machines so you have to pay 6 dollars a bag or go to the store to buy it. The drink vending machine was empty the entire stay. My grandson used the pull out sofa bed but even after two requests could not get a blanket. There was no phones in room to call the front desk. There are also no inside safety locks on the doors. Pro-This hotel has a great location and wonderful view. Despite my complaints I would still stay here again because of the room type fit our needs. I just would not expect the quality this hotel used to have.

The view is unbeatable but the cleanliness is awful!!!

The beautiful views, easy beach access, convenience of a kitchen and location to many great restaurants was a highlight, however the conditions and cleanliness of the hotel was poor.

Limited parking and would have to park across the street in an abandoned building parking lot that was full of nails and trash if the hotels parking lot filled up. Very dirty room with visible mold all around floor trim and walls.

There was MOLD on the ceiling. It seemed as if the room hadn’t been cleaned to the best of one’s ability (only cleaned what was visible to the eye). Underneath the beds were disgusting. The sink stayed clogged. The oven and stovetop in the room didn’t work, would set the smoke detectors off. The dishes provided still had grease on them. There were cockroaches. The “free internet” didn’t even work. The tv’s did not pick up good signals so we wasn’t able to watch anything nearly for our whole stay. The bathtub seemed unsafe, almost as if it was going to fall through (there were cracks in the tub and it sunk in).

Really dirty and unsanitary

Overall “pleasant” stay mainly because of the view/balcony and jacuzzi which we had to manually clean, which was expected. What I didn’t expect was having to clean MOLD in the shower. There was honestly mold a lot of places. Room could’ve been way better and cleaner for the price point. Had to pay for ice as well, which was unusual. Can’t beat the location of though, definitely saves this place!

This hotel was disgusting! Mold on the lamp shades, pubic hair on the toilet tank, dirty floors, busted cabinet hardware, spray painted refrigerator! We found out the day before we left that our room had been “remodeled “

Our stay was miserable. Elevators were hot and smelled badly The room was not clean. The shower water spigot had visible mold and mildew. Rust was visible on various appliances The balcony was slippery from the condescension coming from the AC unit. The air conditioning unit has visible mold.

Property wasn’t clean. Roaches in the room. Mold. Hot tub dirty. View of the ocean was the only good thing about this hotel.

The room had definitely aged since the ad pics were posted.

We stayed here last year in October and really enjoyed it. Upon our arrival this time the floor felt like it had sand all over it (a little is normal) and the beds were horrible. When you sat down or laid down you could feel the box springs. Please replace the mattresses and have someone check the rooms before someone checks in. I do not believe we will choose this next time we are in the area.

The cleanliness of the room was less than stellar. There was sand on the floor from a previous guest and mold on the lampshade. The room was very basic and could use updating. One of the elevators was broken and therefore the other was busy and slow. The room had a great view and location but I'm unsure if I would stay here again. They could use a good bit of improvements. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Nothing for breakfast other than coffee.

Our room didn’t have any forks, paper towels, wash cloths, the hair dryer wouldn’t work and one of the elevators was out of service. The beds are located by the front door so you could hear every person as they walked by. The pictures look a lot nicer than the actual room.

This place has really gone downhill since our last stay. The kitchens need to have more pans, dishes, utensils, etc. We expected to be able to cook and eat at our room. But that was impossible without anything to cook with or eat with. The room was very dirty upon arrival, and I asked twice if they could come clean, they never did. I had to beg for clean towels & toilet tissue, which they never brought, we had to track down a cleaning cart and ask the maid for some. Needless to say, we will not return to this resort. Even though we had stayed there 4+ times. It used to be a great place!

Room was a little dated..but comfortable

What I appreciated about the hotel was its beachfront location and the beautiful view—it was definitely a highlight. However, the actual experience didn’t match what was advertised online. When I arrived, one of the beds had dirty sheets, and the pull-out bed in the back room hadn’t been cleaned or changed. The balcony had significant rust, the AC unit wasn’t functioning properly, and the bathtub would back up during showers. I also noticed that some other areas of the hotel were showing signs of rust and wear.

Such an amazing view at an amazing price!!! We plan on going back soon. Little kitchen with all the things to cook meals. Right on the beach. Beautiful!!!

We have stayed here before, overall the staff was great! Location and price was amazing! Will be coming back in May.

First room had a hole in the wall. We moved into another room. You could not see out of the window and there was trash left in the bathroom, dirty floors and appliances, bugs in light fixtures. We got locked out of the room because the key cards wouldn’t work. It took management 30 minutes to check it and then decided they would have to change the entire lock, taking away our vacation time. When asked for a refund, the desk clerk said the manager would call us, but she never did. No assistance or discount was given. When we called the clerk back she said hotels.com would have to assist us. No assistance was given by them either.

We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was great except the bed was not comfortable. We actually went to Walmart and bought a foam mattress topper. It helped a lot. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

Parking was never available in the lot. Had to park across the street. Construction going on in front of the hotel so it was difficult to get in/out of parking lot. Only one elevator worked the whole 10 days we were there. VERY inconvenient. Housekeeping was shotty. They left new towels but never made our beds or filled the soap dispensers. Overall this is a 2 star resort so I guess you get what you pay for. We just wanted a place to sleep between shopping & being at the beach so it served that purpose.

Staff was very nice and helpful. Beach access was great. Rooms needed updating/cleaning. Furniture and fittings not in good shape. First room we were given had been smoked in profusely even though was suppose to be smoke free. Staff was helpful and did change our room.

I was expecting the absolute worst after reading the reviews… upon arrival, everyone at the property was very nice. It is an older property and needs updates, but the views from the balcony is more than worth it. Pool was beautiful and pool area cleaned every morning! Room was accommodating, again, in need of updates but tolerable for a week stay with kids. Cons, parking… only a few on site, others across the busy road. Elevator, only one, sometimes you have to wait, no airflow at all in the elevator and it gets HOT. The biggest complaint we had was with the key cards. They only worked once or twice before having to have front desk resync them. Front desk was very apologetic, but sometimes we’d have to do it several times a day which was annoying. There has to be a better way to get them to work. Even with the cons, I’d stay here again in the future.

When I checked in I couldn’t get into my room cause the key didn’t work 3 times and the parking was awful not enough place to park and then u had to park across the street and the rooms need to be updated. Then tv didn’t work u had to plug everything in to work. I want ever go back and stay there and the elevator, you only have one to use and if you didn’t get get on it or couldn’t get it to come down or up, you walk down the steps and carry your luggage

The staff during the night time is very very rude. Suddenly , at 3 am in the night , there was a leakage from the bathroom ceiling and entire floor was flooded. They suggested us to pack everything and move to other nearby properties. The staff also said you can sleep in the flood if you wish to. Very bad service, they didn't even acknowledge that we had to go through tough time at night but rather spoke very rudely.

Property was right on the beach and the room was comfortable. The rooms weren't ready for many guest including ourselves until 1hr and 45 min after check in due to being understaffed for cleaning crews. Our cards stopped working the morning we were leaving which made going to the beach early that morning not possible. the TV remote for the TV in the bedroom of the master suite was missing the whole time. The staff acted like all of this was our problem to deal with. the lobby bathrooms were not clean at all. The pool was under construction which was a hassle to go around for beach access and a let down that we paid the price for a hotel with a pool/hot tub and didn't have one that was usable.

Never got to stay. They over booked and I had to find another hotel. All happened when I arrived. Waiting on refund for 3 nights I never got.

Amazing view, clean pool. Close to pier. Very friendly staff.

Property was in a great location, pool nice , hot tub nice, beach nice. One elevator was broken all week. Wait times for elevator were long. Parking is horrible. If you have 97 rooms, there should be minimum 120 parking places for all guests and staff. First room we had was 514. No smoking but smelled like cronic smoker lived there. Went to living room and noticed outlet for AC was burned and umplugged and plug was also burned and room was not swept. Front desk was very nice and moved us to 614. All good now. We are on the beach and lots of towels are used daily and sand gets in the room. I was informed that housekeeping was every 3 days. We stayed from wed to sun. They came one time and brought towels on Sat. And took out trash. Bed was never made and room was never swept. Keys had to be reprogrammed at least 5 times. We had a good time but house keeping leaves a lot to be desired. Front staff was very nice. Tiki bar drinks were great and bartenders also great.

Overall it was a great stay the room was clean, quiet and had a balcony with a beach view. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was a little cloudy and warm but overall nice the tiki bar was great

Great location

Looked dirty and just needs some attention to pressure washing the building and pool definitely needs a good cleaning. Not many places to park and parking lot needs so TLC as well. But over all my family and I had a decent stay.

Staff here were all friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it for 4 additional nights. On the beach and close to restaurants and shopping. Perfect!

Love the waterfront location of Beachcomber, near Pier Park and a Winn Dixie grocery store right across the roundabout. Unfortunately, during my stay, the two driveways into the property were packed sand (not pavement) and sometimes blocked due to heavy equipment laying sewage/water pipes underground in front of hotel. This wasn't so bad, the noise was tolerable, but the ELEVATORS were on the fritz...only one of the two was working, and sometimes it wasn't! I was on the 6th floor, so I had a great aerobic workout getting to my room at times. I liked the layout of the room, bedroom in front, kitchenette (with large fridge) in middle and living room area in back. Loved being up high to look out over the gulf. But when I looked down into the pool (not huge but nice size), I could see black splotches on the sides (underwater). For the inexpensiveness, it was worth it at The Beachcomber. The staff was very nice.

Property was a bit dated and only had one of the two elevators working for 7 floors. Parking if the lot was full was across the street but with the added construction on the road made it more of a hassle getting in and out which is no fault of the hotel just a comment on current parking. Most of the staff I interacted with was friendly and helpful. The view was great and room was spacious enough for myself and 2 kids. Would stay again.

Location of the property made for a quick ride too and from the airport

Staff was excellent! A+++++Every request was met with a satisfactory result A+ Pool was clean and refreshing. View from the room A+++ Beds are ok but comfy (A little shifting of the top mattress sliding off the box springs,but we just pushed it back to center. Kitchen was nice setup(cleaning of oven is needed) otherwise was all clean, pots and pans and kitchen accessories were adequate. We used paper plates and plastic forks/spoons anyways. Tiki bar was excellent with Ashlin and Henry making GREAT refreshments. The hotel is older so given that, and it's affordable pricing you get more than your monies worth. We'll definitely be returning!!

Great food options at very family oriented

It was very convenient to a lot of shopping. The tiki bar was great . Only one elevator was working but never had to wait on the one in use. The kids loved the pool and access to the beach.

Very friendly staff when approaching them. Easy access to beach and pool. Small Play area for small kids. Cons—$50 night Fee upon check in. Didn’t state on site that I saw. No laundry, but stated there is laundry on the website. No breakfast. Very dirty room. Trash from previous guest left behind. Mattress had a literally dip in it, woke up with back pain every morning. Whole room smelled funny but strong Cat pee smell by couch. Cushions cover on couch ripped all around the back, foam exposed. Mattress had big yellow stain (probably cat pee) Had to ask for items multiple times before finally receiving. Balcony chair broken, just propped up against the wall. Door very unsafe for toddlers. Unlocks when being opened from inside. Hot tub had broke metal chair, very unsafe with a simple slip. Only one elevator working which itself sounded sketchy. Minimal, minimal parking. Extra across street but crossing that traffic with no cross walk is hit or miss. Couple gave us their lounge chair since they left at noon and supposed to be rented til 5. The told the guy and after they left he tried to tell us we had to pay an additional $40. Even though it’s already been paid for. Huge chair outside for pics but it is broken, which hard to tell until you’re on it for pics. Not worth what I spent. Minimal pots and pans for cooking. Not worth the price. Wouldn’t stay again.

Washer and dryer was down but luckily laundromat around the corner and I guess they just quit serving breakfast besides that we loved everything

We enjoyed our stay. Our room was clean . Other tourists were nice and respectable. My only complaint is that the continental breakfast area was no longer in use. Every other time that we went, it was available. But not this time. With the cost of the rooms, i think a continental breakfast should be included and when we talked to other tourists, they said the same thing

Construction blocking ALL beachfront hotels. Tiki bar was not open as we were told they would be until sunset. The towels and washcloths were like usng gauze they were so thin and unabsorbant.

Liked the Tiki hut by the pool. Austi was a great bartender and took very good care of us.

Excellent budget hotel just bring your own soap / shampoo / blanket. Pool was roped off and granola bars for breakfast.
