Camp Fire was a fantastic restaurant on property, Taylor in the Great room (bartender) was phenomenal and the spa was just what we needed! We only had a few days to get away but even for being off season, this was a great destination and was so peaceful and quiet for us to relax and recharge!!

The hotel itself is lovely and the room was very nice. They don’t help you with luggage. The food in the restaurant could be improved. Spa is great. Outdoor bar on terrace is great.

The hotel is branded as part of Hilton’s Curio hotels - Curio for curious I suppose. The hotel is a renovation of a very old Saranac Lake hotel, and that leads to its oddness. The rooms are very small - mine was just 9 feet wide, and with a small window. The bathroom is likewise small - just a shower and no bath. The tight space meant that I had to step into the shower and reach under the shower head to turn on the shower, so receiving a spray of cold water before the water got warm. But the room was well appointed and pleasantly designed, and everything seemed clean. The entrance foyer is attractive and has preserved some of the old features. There’s only one elevator, however, with a quite small car, and that will lead to long waits at busy times. I ate in the hotel restaurant three nights. Avoid the burger - it was unpleasant - but my other meals were ok.

Hilton Curio Collection Hotel…rooms are small but very well equipped! Restaurant food is very good. Also has a great room with bar, fireplace and games to keep you busy. Staff members throughout the hotel are friendly and helpful. Parking on site…and they have a great mercantile type store in the lobby. Fun place!

We were charged $22.50 for something after we checked out. Only drank 2 bottles of water which were supposed yo be free. We stayed 3 nights. The room was slightly cleaned the morning after the 1st night. Looks like someone started but left. We had to call for extra toliet paper which was reluctantly delivered.

For a Hilton, a historical property, and what we paid, I was very disappointed. Stayed in a suite in a separate building. It's the little things that add up to a lot. Cobwebs on the dining light fixture, hanging from ceiling; holes in blanket; no conditioner left in shower; room temperature way too high. Maybe the main building is better but won't be going back.

We didn’t like the fact that the suite section was not even in the same building. If you’re paying for a suite at $400+ there should be some convenience attached to it. We have stayed at Hilton hotels across the country and know that there is always shampoo and conditioner in the shower, well here they were all empty. Then went to use the keurig and there was a used pod in it still, but wasted my time even getting more coffee for it as it didn’t even work. And then to top it all off, when booking I paid for a buffet breakfast, that don’t even exist, but was offered an extremely expensive breakfast in which at that point they felt bad for us and just gave us the breakfast, which should have been free anyway due to awful taste of it. Needless to say we won’t be staying here again!!

The layout of the hotel was a little complicated. You had to walk outside thru the parking deck to get to another building to get to our room. We had a 3 night stay. The first day we had to ask for housekeeping for towels and have the beds made. The second day housekeeping never came so when we got back to our room after being out all day, the room was never made up. The next morning we needed fresh towels so we called the front desk to have them delivered. They never came. They had a hard time meeting the bare minimum of what you would expect at a hotel.

We loved the Hotel Saranac. It is a beautiful old hotel located in the downtown area just steps away from shops and restaurants. Be forewarned, the rooms are small, but filled with charm, well appointed and very comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant is very good and well worth a visit. We will definitely be back.

We stayed two nights in cold rainy weather, but the hotel was a highlight of our trip.Large rooms high ceilings and updated. Nicely taken care of, and we enjoy the vintage touches from the grand style of living. Staff that we interacted with at reception and breakfast was very friendly and professional.

This is our second time stay at this property and even though we like the location and the ease of parking and dining places, the cleanliness of room this time was very disappointing. Shower had hair and dirt spots. Carpet had multiple stains and sticky spots. There was a dead bug in the coat closet. Our comforter cover had yellow stains as well. Overall was not too happy with the room this time.

Loved everything, except that the room did not have a mini fridge. We were staying and doing alot of hiking so it would have been helpful to be able to keep some food items in a fridge. My fauly for not checking before rebooking but I did not realize it was not a mandatory amenity in a hotel anymore.

The room could have been cleaner. There was other peoples hair all over the shower and bathroom. The rooms are very nice and modern but not soundproof so you better hope you have good neighbors unlike us. The staff was very trashy and rude which was shocking for such a nice hotel. Overall we would stay again and the problems are fixable with better management and staff. Greta location and great town.

The Superior Suite was very spacious and comfortable. It was extremely quiet the entire weekend and dinner was delicious at the Campfire Grill. There are many great places to go within walking distance as well as many options for hiking and outdoor activities within a short drive. We will definitely be back!

Reception staff upon arrival was disappointing, we were not able to dine at the hotel or use Great Hall for a beverage. Concierge staff, Jan and Helene were lovely and knowledgeable. They made our stay memorable. Gift shop staff were also excellent.

Despite platinum Expedia status, no room upgrade was offered at check-in and when I asked we were told no other rooms were available even though the couple in line behind us at reception were offered several alternatives. However, after mentioning this in a Hilton review we were offered a complimentary breakfast which was very kind of the hotel management and greatly appreciated by us.

Traveling alone, I especially appreciated feeling safe throughout my stay. The staff was especially helpful. Returning to the hotel groggy and hungry after a medical procedure, the young woman at the desk walked me to the restaurant, which was not yet open, and made sure I got a sandwich to take back to my room. Little things like this make all the difference.

We had an absolutely impeccable experience for a quick couple's getaway at the Hotel Saranac. From check-in to check-out, everything felt special. The room was quiet and comfortable, the staff incredible, and the onsite dining was perfect. We very much enjoyed our cocktails each night in the Great Room Bar as well. The location is great...within walking distance of almost everything in Saranac Lake, including some hiking and walking trails and it is also very centrally located if looking to spend some time in Lake Placid, Tupper, or Paul Smith's. We can't imagine staying anywhere else!

What a wonderful trip, first timers to the Adirondack's and it was AMAZINGLY AWESOME. Saranac Lake is a laid back fun little village. You have the faster past in Lake Placid which was a short scenic drive. We rode our bikes along the Rail Trail, shopped in both towns, very good restaurants - had barbeque and the BEST Brussel Sprouts at Smoke Signals in Lake Placid.

Our choice to stay here was a last minute one due to the threat of rains at the campsite we'd intended to sleep in. The bed was like in a fairy tale - so comfortable and cozy. The food at the "Camp Fire" restaurant was spectacular (we even spoke with the chef which was an added treat!!). And the location allowed for easy walking to the charming town of Saranac. Highly recommended!!

We were checked away from the main building , in the old interns dorms. Which turned out to be wonderful: very spacious and updated. The main building doesn’t have a lobby as far as I could tell, anyway. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was supposed to be served in a restaurant in the main building. The waiters said there is just one cook at the kitchen and asked us to return in an out. This is unacceptable- you are not supposed to start your day one hour later because of a bad staffed restaurant. The waiters seemed to be UN knowledgeable about how billed is paid: claiming they will claim it from the hotel, and the hotel will buy it on your bill. And they did not know what should be covered by the hotel and what’s not. Which was disturbing. Eventually, everything was covered by the hotel, but the waiter tried to give us as little as possible “are u OK with just water?” And avoiding coming to our table and offer anything like orange juice or coffee. One of the worst experiences for breakfast at a hotel.

Everything at the hotel was fine with the exception of the on site restaurant. The service was exceptionally slow,the menu prices were excessive compared to the quality of the fare. An example would be the twenty five dollar burger that one had to search to find the burger after thirty-five minute wait. Unacceptable!
