Ok hotel but the pool and gym were out of service

All ice machines were out of order. Pool under maintenance. Room door misaligned and sticks; does not automatically close; must use force to open and close.

It was nice, the pool was not open and the hot tub is permanently closed

Renovation of pool and fitness center made those amenities closed. Looking forward to seeing it when its done!

Room was dirty, toilet was disgusting and looked like it never had been clean, hair in the shower, the website said they had a hot tub but the front desk said it was an error and they didn’t have one. I stayed 2 nights and the pool was closed for both nights, breakfast had stale pasties and soggy potatoes, door handle had crusty substance on it, headboard had white substance smeared on it. You can hear everything from the surrounding rooms and the traffic from the highway, it’s like the windows are open. The amount I paid was absolutely not the quality I got. I felt like I was staying a terrible motel.

When I arrived I was told there was no hot tub and the pool was under construction!

There is a hot tub pictured for this hotel. However, there was not a hot tub. It looks like it has been covered with flooring (See picture below). This was very frustrating as we had been looking forward to the hot tub.

This place has a long way to go. While it seems to be under repair it is in no way ready to be accepting guests. The "system" was down is what we were told upon arrival. The front desk attendant informed my wife and son that we could either wait in our car for the system to come back on or they would offer a full refund if we wished to cancel our trip. We had drove over 5 hours to get there and had no other options so wait we did. It was the middle of the night and we were all so tired from being on the road. We had our talk with us as well which made things particularly terrible trying to just hang out in our vehicle and the parking lot. Eventually I decided to hang out in the lobby where I proceeded to hear the attendant talking to a guy there to do repairs and she explained to him the system is down but that for the night she would put him and his workers up in a room that somebody else had turned away for the reservation. I was very agitated to hear this as I began to explain to the front desk attendant this was very inappropriate that we had traveled so far my family was tired and also wanted was to get into our room which we had already paid for. Eventually I was able to talk the worker into giving us a double bed room for the evening but it was super weird how she continued to say that this is a lot of her control and that we better not mess up the room or it would be on her. The hot tub is not even there anymore the pool was off limits the gym was under repairs.

No calls nor emails were made to state the nature of the hotel! They had no room keys available “due to being struck by lightning “, so we had to wait for housekeeping to let us in! The elevators didn’t work, WiFi was down and the tvs didn’t work! Our room wasn’t cleaned until we arrived and had to wait 30mins after 4 to even be able to access the room! Just a total disaster

Staff was very pleasant and the room was very clean.

The room was very clean. The staff was great and very respectful. Very kind happy people. We will be staying here again in the future

The staff was nice but the room was dirty. The only trash can was in the bathroom. No one had cleaned the bathroom floors (dirt & hair on floors and in shower) and there was no blackout curtain in a ground floor room right next to the side door and a lamppost. They had refillable toiletries in the shower but they were all empty

This was my firts time in a Hampton inn I was put into a room the bed wasn't stripped and fresh bedding put on towels all around the room Was told in booking i got a jacuzzi room that was a lie was told they do not have them here The second room was not any better would like to cancel stay but then loose money this isn't fair to people 😑 i deserve a better stay than dirty toilets dirty bed and towels everywhere in a supposed to be a 5 star hotel this is my first time in a Hampton inn ever Not happy 😒

Building and room were filthy. I travel most weeks of the year for business and have reasonable expectations. I have never stayed in a place with filthy sheets, floors, and especially the elevator. I asked for another room and they said they were booked. Ultimately I asked for the vacuum and clean bedding and the staff obliged. They were truly apologetic. I very much appreciated them for what came across as a sincere apology. I will never stay there again. I have never had an experience like this in a Marriott branded hotel.

Can hear people talking outside our window. Our window curtain is broke, being held up with a hangar! Been disappointed

Easy access to turnpike, but do get some traffic noise when heater or A/C isn’t running.

I was disappointed with my stay at this Hampton Inn. The front desk staff was not friendly or welcoming. The first room I was assigned had trash on the floor and the trash can had not been emptied, which was concerning. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. The only positive was the breakfast, which was decent. Overall, I expected better quality and service from Hampton.

Staff was great at check in. We did not use the pool. Lobby was nice. Rooms clean. Breakfast was just okay. The oatmeal was always undercooked and juice/water machine had a funny taste. We stayed on second floor and had someone above us make quite a bit of noise at 2a, the bathtub is not installed well and the floor pops loudly while taking a shower, and then pillows were not comfortable. Even with a few minor dislikes would stay again.

Everything was great except the bottom of the bathtub made loud popping noises when someone is sitting or standing in the tub. So every time you move while showering the floor of the shower is popping and groaning. Other than that it was awesome. We loved how quiet the place was after about 8 or so.

This was my first time visiting Laporte, and I stayed at this property just north of town. Overall, it was all one would expect from a Hampton Inn. Room was comfy as was the bed. Upgraded TV (at least 55") with decent selection of channels (it was rainy so usual reception problems with rain). I like the USB ports right by bedside. Water pressure and temperature was very good. The only small issue i have is with the pool being closed. I book exclusively where there is a gym and pool so I can keep up my fitness routine. Breakdowns happen, but the property should remove photos of the pool and make a note on the booking site (Expedia) that the pool is out of order. It was non-refundable, so there was no chance to back out. Not a huge issue for me, but some families al;so book only where there are pools and a lot of kids may be disappointed. The gym was adequate but it had a sign indicating that it doesn't open until 6 am. This is extremely late for those of us who do a one-hour workout and need time for breakfast and shower before 8 am. appointment. I did go in a 5:30 a.m. and the key card worked, and to their credit, no one kicked me out. There is no reason this could not be 24 hours, or at least open at 5. Gym is small but everything was in good working condition. More than good to maintain fitness. Front desk personnel were very friendly, and every one of the housekeeping staff was also very friendly and smiled and waved every time i passed.

This is a nice hotel, a little remote so it is quiet. I would stay again.

Sort review: stay somewhere else. The entire front entrance is under construction, there's materials everywhere, and some sidewalks you can't use because of it. The place is fine-ish. Their system was still down, so they said they would just check us in the old fashioned way. While walking to our room, we discovered there was a U12 baseball team that was staying at the hotel. They had almost every room. It was quiet until the baseball team got back. It was then 4-5 hours of screaming kids sprinting down the hallways. Also, they thought it was a good idea to put a room with a dog directly above the pool. Our dog never settled down. Which may be a good thing for when someone else tried to come into our room... with a room key. They checked someone in and gave someone else a room key to the room we were in. Then, an hour or so later, someone from the front desk came up and started grilling us like we WEREN'T suppose to even be there. What's your name? Did you check in today or are you a hold over? When I went to check out, they still didn't have it right and gave me a receipt for someone else (who they had listed in our room). As for the room, the toilet lid was glued in spots, and was glued on crooked and unleveled. You don't sit straight or level on it. Stay. Somewhere. Else.

Staff were very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.

There was an unusual breakdown of the room key cards and the front clerks had to let everyone into their room with the master key. The clerks were very gracious. But I felt that there was a lack of getting the job done by the company as we were told the repairs would begin on December 22nd.

Staff was amazing! We stayed for a week for girls softball. Staff was engaging with the girls, cheered them on and made their stay enjoyable.

I booked my reservation through Expedia for a family suite. When I arrived the check in process was very quick so no complaints there but as I walked into the room I instantly realized that it was not what I paid for. I went back downstairs to talk with the lady at the desk and explained what happened. She informed me that that room was the only room they had left on the property. They gave away my room that I had already booked weeks ago. Needless to say my family and I had to pile up in a standard double bed room. Very uncomfortable and not accommodating at all. On top of that there must of been a cat that stayed in our room previously because there was animal hair all over and cat nip treats on the floor behind the dresser.

They double charged me at check in even though I told them I had already payed online at the time of making the reservation.front desk told me they were gonna charge me a 25 dollar incidental fee and then charged my card for 120

Easy check in. Booked online and 10 mins layer had room key. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Clean rooms and well stocked for your basic needs. Would stay again.

The hotel’s location right by a little lake makes it bucolic despite being right next to the highway. The service was great. The only downside was that the hot tub was not in service.

It was really convenient and it is a nice place. When I have occasion to be in the area I will book it again.

Highly recommend this hotel! When we checked in, the A/C in our room was not working. The desk sent maintenance to our room immediately, and he pulled the unit apart and got it going within a few minutes. It worked fine the three days we were there. All staff was friendly. Good mornings from all the cleaning, desk, and maintenance staff out whole stay. Breakfast was great! Regular waffle batter and cinnamon roll waffle batter. Had strawberry cream cheese spread for bagels, as well as the usual jellies, butter, peanut butter, etc. Also, the expected bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, cereals, yogurt cups, apples, etc. It is just north of the interstate, so a little bit of traffic noise, but not bad. Not next to restaurants, gas stations, etc, but everything else about this hotel was fantastic.

Hotel was clean and had a modern look. Staff were very friendly. We were a little disappointed by the breakfast. They ran out of eggs at 7:30 and had a hard time keeping up with the coffee. There was no fruit or yogurt.

Very nice hotel convenient location and was very well stocked inside the room. Breakfast was great and fresh. The rating of 8.2 it gets is very low it is much closer to 10.

POOL WAS COLD. NO SPA despite being advertised in hotel pictures that there was one. Entrance door into room was hard to open and close which is a Safety hazard in an emergency. Lastly, breakfast starts at 6 am and goes until 10. But, at 7:30 there was only watery eggs and cereal left. Attendant was rude when asked about it. Very sad conditions for a room rate of $186 a night not including taxes. Hampton Inn in Laporte, Indiana definitely needs to do better. After a long day of watching volleyball games at Dunes Volleyball Club, my granddaughters were looking forward to the pool, but the youngest could not handle how cold the pool was and used the poolside shower just to warm up. SAD!!!!!

We have a great stay here! The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was very good with a nice variety of options. As well as having plenty left at 9am (when it ends at 10), and they still brought out more hot food. We were happy and full :)
