Berkshire Travel Lodge

NO WATER! My husband and I checked in at the Berkshire Travel Lodge on July 5, 2025 at around 7:00 PM. It’s an old roadside motel, more run down than the pictures on Travelocity, we only got 4 channels of cable TV, no ice available on site but good enough for our 1 night stay. When we woke up on July 6, we had NO WATER. We were unable to take showers, brush our teeth, or use the toilet. There was no one in the office, so I called the phone number posted and spoke with the manager who said he’d be off site all day but he’d make some calls and call me back. That was the last I heard from him; I’ve not gotten any reply via email, no one answers the phone, and there’s no way to leave a message to request a refund since our room did not meet minimum standards due to the lack of water.

I was visiting nearby Stockbridge, MA overnight, and lodging there was ridiculously expensive. This was on my way to my next destination, so I stayed. It was easy to miss, with a small sign at the base of a steep hill up from Rte. 22 near the I-90 interchange. The property is old and shopworn, and overlooks noisy I-90. They should stop advertising the "pool" which is closed and covered with a tarpaulin. The room was basic with bare-bones amenities, and the bed was comfortable. Cable TV was bare-bones minimal, with only one network channel and no guide. Wifi was OK. Everything was clean, and it was quiet enough to sleep with windows closed and drapes drawn. There weren't many guests. Breakfast was OK coffee with cheap packaged baked goods. I felt safe and it wasn't bad for one night on the way to someplace else.

TV didn't have signal. Property outdated. Picture of a pool that does not exist. Pool has been closed since covid . I want a credit Falsly advertised . You need to remove this location from your poorly managed site I have photos but site not letting me add them

Convenient to Rt 90. Major disappointment- the swimming pool was closed. This was not made clear at the time of booking. The pool was one of the reasons I chose this place.

Could hear when every toilet flushed. Sketchy live in residents. We were not permitted to use the only deadbolt on the door. Did not feel safe in general. Too expensive for what it was.

room was dirty; furniture and bedding was stained; towels were threadbare; internet didn't work; TV only had 3 channels; no hooks bard or in bathroom to hang towels; bathroom door had was cracked; door to room didn't lock properly; outside stairs to get to second floor weren't safe.

Great place 2 stay only downfall is there's no real reception so wifi/calls/ car radio doesn't work 2 well & when u leave its a pita getting out as u can see the traffic from behind ur car Not alot of channels maybe 3/4 Other than that great place 2 stay

Parking was fine. Breakfast was prepackaged mini muffins. No ice, no coffee in the room, no hair dryer. Old and dirty

No hot water. Limited TV, coffee was burnt tar, musty smell, hideous very dark green wall. Yikes!

We drove 45min to get there and they had no power so we had to find another place to stay.

The property is old, and run down. My room was dirty ("stuff" on walls), Saw two roaches in my room. Overall run down.

Blood stained towels, blood stained sheets, cobwebs of dirt hanging from the ceiling, ancient mattresses, mold, mildew etc etc etc.

Property is close to Tanglewood Musical Venues. Parking is easy. The rooms are impeccably clean and the office manger was curteous.

I like the view but then the room carpet is dirty and fridge freezer not defrosting old ice inside. Room smells cigarette. Yard dirty w thrash outside under stairs. Fences not maintained . Needs painting.

The sheets were clean, I think. They were accommodating of my dog, but the only area to walk my dog had a lot of litter and no grass. The bathroom was gross, and everything was in desperate need of paint.

It was dirty, cob webs, walls were cracked, bathroom door would not shut, dirty hand print were rubbed down the wall (maybe blood), ceiling in bathroom was ready to fall down, air conditioner was noisy and did not work right, train went by 3 to 4 times a night, bath tub/shower were so dirty I did not take a shower plus it was not handicap accessible, all we had were 2 skimpy pillows had to go buy 2 there were more thing but this is enough. It should be shut down

Bed bugs, mattress was terribly dirty as well. Sit on the toilet and your knees are outside the bathroom. Awful awful awful. I went in, saw bedbugs and got my money back.

It was disgustingly dirty. The base of the toilet had dried urine. Cobwebs in corners. Mattress was extremely hard. Headboard had something nasty on it.

Good location for Tanglewood. Easy to check in The bed and toilet were good. The A/C worked. There was a microwave and a small refrigerator. The room smelled musty. The walls were cracked and not clean. The place is badly in need of a remodel but if you just need a place to sleep…

Very pleasant and helpful staff. Great price and value for the location. Traffic noise from I-90 and train was noticeable.

The room I had must have been renovated recently, but none the less, very clean The bathroom nerd renovation but again, was clean. The front desk gentleman at check-in was awesome, very friendly and upbeat. This is your basic Roadside Motel, there are eateries and fuel literally right down the road, and very convenient to I-90, right off Route 22. I intend on using this Motel again when up there!

Beautiful scenery. Room was not fancy but comfortable and clean.

The most poorly furnished, smelly,outdated,crappy motel room I’ve been in in 40 years. It would have been worth $40, not $160. Never again.

Very misleading, photos on hotels.com must be from like 20 years ago! Property completely run down , room walls were dirty , bathroom walls full of cracks , there are a lot of lower rooms that have people that look like they live there ! Pool advertised is covered , place is a total mess. We left at 4:30 am . Room reeked of cigarette smoke . We were there to see James Taylor and knew we would never find another place last minute . Do not stay here .

This hotel has definitely seen better days. And any repairs that have been done in the rooms were very rough and not well done. The bed was obviously old and sagged to the middle. We did like that there was a table and a couple of chairs for us to sit at. The bathroom was small with no space to put anything. If the hotel was updated properly, it could be a good place. The location is good, right off the highway, and there’s a Love’s not far away.

It was adequate for an overnight stay—- could hear traffic from the highway and other guests were noisy.

Right off the highway but up on the mountainside made for easy access and beautiful vistas. About what I expected for the price. If you can see past the decor (in need of updates, perhaps a paint job), it has the basics and the rooms are spacious. Nice sized table and two comfortable chairs. Clean.

The guy at the front desk asked me to go to his room on the 3rd floor and I said I am not that kind of girl. The bed was filthy and the bed felt like I was on the boxspring I didn't sleep at all.

They never had a reservation for me. When arriving after 55 hr drive. They charge my visa and I will deal with that tomorrow.

The motel seems to be managed and cleaned by the owners. Not the ritz, but clean and a bargain compared with other lodging in the area. The owner was very responsive.

The room I had must have been renovated recently, but none the less, very clean The bathroom nerd renovation but again, was clean. The front desk gentleman at check-in was awesome, very friendly and upbeat. This is your basic Roadside Motel, there are eateries and fuel literally right down the road, and very convenient to I-90, right off Route 22. I intend on using this Motel again when up there!

I booked to stay for a week in a specific room downstairs. They asked me, to switch rooms and go upstairs - because there was an older (person who they gave the room to). I’ve been a loyal customer to the establishment because I drive over an hour to work, having stayed several nights. I consider myself an elderly person being 59 years old and a diabetic. Having health issues. They made me feel guilty. I was very unhappy and upset about the request. I shouldn’t have been put in an awkward, uncomfortable position. On my last nights stay; to make matters worse, I slip and fell at the bottom of the stairs. I tried to get help and was told that the management wasn’t there so I had to talk to them in the morning. The man barely spoke English and didn’t understood what I was saying. In the morning the management wasn’t even there. Another guest who witnessed everything; as I fell and hurt my wrist and twisted my back in the fall. The property is not maintained to the way it needs to be. Especially when it’s icy. Buckets of snow/ ice melt should be out and available so people can’t put it down and do not worry about slipping. The person I spoke with said that two other people had fallen as well. She was kind enough to help me. I will not be using this hotel again. Their loss of money and a loyal customer.

Booked the hotel and arrive late night. (Half an hour after the booking) NO one was there!!!!!! I call them No answer! Try to leave a message, mailbox was full So I have to book another hotel for the night at late night!

Staff friendly and helpful.

The place becomes sold out. The clerk was awesome called me. And make sure I was still coming. I did not know what time I was going to be there. They left the room accessible for me to get in. Thank them and we'll stay there again.

Out in the middle of nowhere on a highway with nothing around it for miles no food no Ubers or public transportation bugs in rooms smelly dirty sheets only 7 channels on a Roku tv no WiFi

A good, affordable place to sleep close to many scenic attractions.

It is old and run down. The breakfast offered was an abomination.

I asked for a pool, breakfast, and under $100. I've found some nice places with these filters. "The pool isn't open yet. Something is wrong with it." It seemed to me that this was a standard response to this question. I would not be surprised to hear if that pool has NEVER been used. I had an email that said check out was 11am, they told me upon arrival it was 10:30am. No one was at the desk to take my key. And, the sign on the door that may have lead in Theory to the "Continental Breakfast"? Said "Employees Only", and below that the hours for breakfast were over at 9am. But once again, based upon the bug spraying of the rooms when I arrived, the occasional stray hair found on the towels in the bathroom, and the dirt on the floor.... I believe there would have been a sign of some sort of food having been served if there had been a Breakfast. Please take this Lodge off of your list if you are hungry in the morning or hoping to cool off with a dip in the pool. You will be disappointed. They will not be provided. There is a reason it was only $73 for one person. But I got even less than what I paid for.

The hotel room was very clean. There was however, NO BREAKFAST, as advertised and by the sounds of it there hasn't been for some time. All of the ads for this hotel say there is breakfast and it even says it on your confirmation. I feel the ads and their facebook page need to be updated. I chose my hotels on the basis of breakfast availability so this is pretty much false advertising.

It's stated there would be breakfast in the morning, that was untrue no breakfast

Our stay was good What would have made it great would be if the pool was open and breakfast food not snacks. Thank you

On the plus side the bed was comfortable and there was free WiFi. On the negative side, The promised breakfast turned out to be coffee with and a few tiny pastries. There was only powdered creamer product.

View was lovely. Amenities lacking ( tissues, paper cups, availability of ice) "continental breakfast" was coffee ONLY. Bathroom was ancient.

You said free breakfast and there was not free breakfast and the room was really dirty

Personne à l'accueil tres agreable et sympatique MAIS chambre vetuste, ne comptez pas non plus prendre un petit dejeuner pas de jus d'orange, pas de lait et 3 donuts de la veille, en plus il y avait une pane de courant de 7 PM à 23 PM. N'allez pas dans cet hotel. The reception is very nice and friendly BUT the room is outdated and need a total renovation , don’t plan to have breakfast, no orange juice, no milk, and 3 donuts from the day before and we had no electricity from 7 PM to 23 PM. Don’t go to this hotel.
