The pool is fairly nice but there weren't any towels. The bathroom was also out of paper towels. The steps to our room were looking a little aged and the room could of been a little cleaner. They seemed short staffed. I have never had to wait an hour to check-in and then the room we were given had people in it smoking weed when we opened the door. Had to go back for a new room after waiting a ridiculous amount of time already. Also the shower gel was completely empty. They need massive improvements. The staff was nice probably overwhelmed.

The room was a great size. The pool was good. The bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. However…. This property is in need of a complete rehab. The bathrooms are old and the bathtub was rusty and didn’t drain properly. The refrigerator was damaged and missing parts. The pool rarely had towels. The trash sat outside from the previous guests and 3 days later was filled with magots. Very gross trash was outside most rooms for several days before removed. I enjoyed the stay but you need more help servicing the trash and rooms.

The staff was amazing!!! But the property is dated and the hot tub was dirty along with the pool!!!

Had a amazing stay!! Biggest complaint is thst the side walks and 2 sets of outside stairs to get to our room were covered in days/weeks of snow and ice, please keep your stairs clean, my husband fell back of it. Breakfast was wonderful!! Room had so much space and had everything we needed!

Parking not convenient. Two spots for three rooms. Widen the lane to provide additional space for cars close to where their room is located. Facility kind of looked like an old Residence Inn. I'd stay again.

The suite style with loft was unique and worked well for our kids. However, we wish there had been a clearer warning about the number of stairs required to access the unit. Our mom has mobility issues, and getting to the suite was very difficult for her. While we enjoyed the space itself, the stair-only access made it challenging for anyone with limited mobility.

Easy check-in/out process and parking. Facility is a bit run down. Beds were clean but carpet in bathroom sink area was stained. Didn’t look like the space was well cleaned but nice to have the extra space and full kitchen. Pool and hot were a bonus.

The hotel was under renovation. It seemed like they were repainting the entire property at the same time. We arrived on a Thursday evening and found our windows covered in plastic wrap, paint chips scrapped from the exterior walls everywhere, piles of them swept together and not picked up. Additionally, there were regular 1-gallon paint cans blocking the parking spaces. Very hard to see at night and not a safe way to block the spots. After 24 hours of no painting activity, we moved them out of the way so we could park next to our unit. The shower/bath switch didn’t work so shower use only. We did not address the issues during our stay as we were on the run the entire stay. The interaction we had with the staff at the desk and breakfast was pleasant.

Plenty of space - former condos converted to hotel. However, the carpet was stained and unvacuumed. The business center was not operational. The pool hours were more limited than the hours that were posted. For what we paid, all of this is unacceptable. STAY AWAY.

We had booked one of the "Fireplace Suites" months in advance. The room was absolutely disgusting, from stains on the carpet, to what appeared to be black mold in the bathroom, the tub did not drain, and just general uncleanliness (for example the refrigerator still had food crumbs in it, surface areas were dirty, and etc). Obviously managers at this location not only do not do cleaning spot checks, they don't even enter the rooms. I rarely ever leave reviews, and typically don't ask much of the places I stay, but this was completely unacceptable.

Go stay somewhere else. We had bed bugs in our room and had to leave.

There was blood on the headboard of the first room we were put in, the bathtub had been painted and the paint was peeling off while we were using the shower and there were dirty dishes on both of the rooms we were put in

The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were not the best. The definitely have that kind of cheap and run down aspect, cutting corners and not very clean. Cobwebs on the ceiling in the kitchen, mold in the bathtub and the icing on the cake was the black mold on the ceiling. Instantly asked for a refund. Staff helped out with the refund and that went smoothly.

The staff was extremely friendly, but it was obvious that sheets are not changed between stays - out of 3 beds 2 had stained sheets and food in them.

The desk and breakfast staff were all polite and friendly and professional, but the room and property are in bad shape. The room was disgusting. The kitchen was dirty (old spills down the cupboards, dirty silverware, someone’s food left in the microwave), the furniture was beat and tired, the place smelled like smoke and pine sol. The sheets and towels were clean and while the whole place needs a makeover in the worst way, the bathroom was clean enough to tolerate. I don’t usually make reviews good or bad, but this place was awful due to the condition of the property in general and the cleanliness issues in the room. Wish I had read reviews before booking. Book with caution.

There were cockroaches in our room. We were eventually transferred to another room but not for hours after checking in.

The hotel is supposed to provide a full refund. The hotel was infested with cockroaches and we were not able to stay.

Room was dirty, multiple stains on the rug, dirt in places. We could also hear through the ceiling and walls, it was pretty noisy.

There were very noisy Air Conditioning units at ground level that started and stopped relentlessly all night. I could not change rooms.

I really liked the spacious rooms, especially when traveling with multiple people. We had a room with three beds and a pullout couch, including one of the beds in a separate loft area, which really worked out great for us as we were moving our daughter into college and had multiple people with us.

Kind of meh. Stopper in tub broken so I couldn't take a bath. Gym had poor setup with exercise machines facing AWAY from TV. In living room, TV waaay too close to couch. Just a vibe of a place needing updating.

We stayed for a night on a stopover in Burlington and we were traveling with a four month old. The location of the hotel is convenient, parking is ample, and the place has a decent range of amenities (pool, gym, and free breakfast). We had a baby monitor which we could not use because the WiFi was not password protected (a requirement for many baby monitors due to security). Most hotels anticipate this requirement and have alternative WiFi networks with passwords for those who need them. The drip coffee machine had packets of coffee available but no filters and I was too tired and short on available time to wait for them to bring it to our room or for me to go need to pick it up. The shower did not drain properly at all which is one of my pet peeves at a hotel and kind of gross. I have no issue with this not being a five star hotel, I wasn’t expecting that, but I see no reason why these inconveniences should exist and could not be easily fixed.

Room was really big, 2 queen beds, 1 sofa bed, big kitchen and 2 TVs. Worth it.

The staff was very nice. Some of the rooms had broken air conditioners. The property is run down. Even though it said it was a 2 bedroom with a loft, there were no doors on either bedroom. That’s something we should know ahead of time. Breakfast was excellent, except they kept running out of coffee and forgetting to put some things out.

Very Spacious but needs a make over

The room was nice enough and spacious, but the place smelled horribly of cigarette smoke. And I was woken during the night by marijuana smoke filling my room. Also, there’s a big kitchen, but no utensils or plates or pots and pans.

Really nice place. Staff was friendly. The bed was comfortable enough. It's about a 10 minute drive from Higher Ground, which worked out perfectly since I caught a show there. Nice quiet location. The pool was nice and warm. Went to bed thinking how nice and quiet it was in the room but then I woke up to a crying baby at 5:30am from the room above me. Otherwise it was a really nice stay, would definitely stay here again.

staff not efficient on check-in; outside property and landscaping not maintained; not ada compliant, did not know to ask for first floor room beforehand, , had to climb stairs to unit with suitcases and worst of all NO FRONT DESK STAFF WHATSOEVER ON THE PROPERTY Sunday morning from at least 8:30-10:30 a.m., one poor couple were locked out of their room and could not get back in.

They did not give what I paid for . Paid for king and gave me queen bed when I arrived . The property was under renovation so all windows and sliding doors were taped up with the entire area dirty with debris strewn all over . Promised refund but the reneged the following day . Told me if I don’t like it , to go somewhere else . I am bending over backwards to get refund .

I stayed at the property over Labour Day weekend. At 12:45 am there was water leaking from the light/fan in our bathroom. We had to rush to pack up all of our stuff, and move to a different part of the hotel in our pyjamas. The night audit was extremely helpfully and dealt with issue quickly. The next morning when checking out the manager was not there. I explained the issue to the front desk who told me she would contact the manager for the refund. The refund was approved and I was told I would need to contact Expedia for the refund. Expedia said the hotel charged me and would have to issue the refund. I made 2 calls to speak with the manager, both calls went to a voicemail box they was full. I left messages with the front desk. After not hearing back after 24hrs I called again, was transferred to the manager and again went to a voicemail box that was full. Completely unacceptable that the manager did not seem to care about the situation and made no effort to contact me. In addition to this, the first room we were in was not clean. The air vents were dusty, there was confetti on the floor, and when setting up the pull out couch there was a dirty sheet scrunched up in the corner and a large black bug of some sort. The dishwasher had not been emptied after the previous guest. There was food in the cupboards from a previous guest. In short, aside from the bed having been made and the fresh towels this room had not been cleaned. The bolt on the door was loose, safety issue

Check in took 1 1/2 hours. Apparently the cleaning staff didn’t show up so the front desk person was cleaning the rooms as she check us in. My hat goes off to her, she held it together well. Property is very run down although they do seem to be doing some renovation work. Our room was basic clean but the lamp shade next to the couch was smoot covered. Vents were dirty bathroom lights dirty. The AC was extremely loud when that came on.

We had issues with this property from start to finish First, there was an issue with billing. Expedia noted that first payment was paid at time of booking. But the hotel insisted on charging us the full amount not accounting for our first payment. Another guest we met there said that they had the same issue Second, the interior of the unit was not what was in the photos or as a described. We got the 2 bed loft. There were not separate rooms or doors on the bedrooms. It was completely open The furniture and the carpets were stinky and dirty and the carpet was frayed. We put throw blankets on the couch before sitting on them There were bugs walking on the counters and we found a wasp, earwigs and spiders on the beds and bathrooms The exterior was in the process of renovation which I won’t complain about - though the price didn’t reflect the condition Finally, there were guests that were partying all night , the police were called and they left empty alcohol bottles and meatballs around the sidewalks. We paid almost $325 a night. This was not what was expected The staff was pleasant though

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. From the check in , throughout the stay, and check out everyone was friendly and helpful.

Check in was a disaster to put it bluntly. One and a half hours to check in!!! Not happy with this at all. The front desk clerk helped to clean rooms then came back for a few minutes and then went to clean rooms again. There were 6 people ahead of me, all not happy. Very disappointed

I filled out a complaint ticket with Sonesta and also emailed the manager and heard NOTHING BACK. The hotel was booked, along with all other hotels in the area. Was there for a lacrosse tournament. Our room was overrun with Ants, our fridge was broken and one is the toilets was clogged and broken upon arrival and stayed that way for 2 days. They said they would spray for the ants. We left the room, came back to find our room was left completely open by staff. They had entered and left the bug spray. But there were still ants everywhere. We ended up spraying OURSELVES!! We made the front staff aware of the issues. It felt like they just didn't care. We literally had no where else to go, or i would have. Upon checkout, i had inquired if we could at least receive some type of credit. They said email the manager. I did... and heard nothing back in return. I even called corporate and filed a ticket and heard nothing. Horrid experience

They were just under staffed I had to wait till 8 pm just to check in because the had no rooms due to cleaning.

When I checked in, i was handed a slip of paper listing the amenities of the hotel, which mentioned laundry. So when I woke up before my family, I decided to get some laundry done. I had enough quarters to do the wash load, but not enough to dry also, so I asked at the front desk for quarters and was told they didn't have any change and that I should go ask at the convenience store. So I did. The convenience store let me get $2 in quarters. So I thought I'd be alright, except that even after a full run, the clothes in the dryer will still only halfway dry. So I went to the front desk again to tell them I had gotten all the quarters I could but that my clothes were still wet. The receptionist insisted that the hotel was in no way connected to or responsible for the laundry room... despite being physically connected to the hotel, being listed on their amenities, and branded with the same cutesy signage as the hotels other offerings. Another associate picked up on how dismissive and uncaring the one receptionist was being and first went to her car to check for quarters and then offered to let me dry my clothes in the hotel's dryer. But I just don't understand how they can make it look like the washer and dryer are in every way a part of their operations... unless there's a problem. This really should't have been a big deal, but the level of condescension and dismissiveness from the one receptionist was pretty unbelievable.

The check in was easy and quick. The property is essy to get to from I89 and very close to shops and restaurants.

I liked the location off the highway, cleanliness of the room and the quietness of the area.

It’s a very easy place to get to and from with everything around you. Kitchen is convenient to have, room is clean. Quaint place to stay and easy to travel downtown and walk along church street.

The rooms are big and roomy but need renovation. Not as clean as expected. Breakfast was good. Front desk very helpful. Easy short drive to Burlington and Essex junction.

Far away from the city, otherwise good option for few days. Very close from the highway.

Older property, mattress was new and firm. The building exterior poorly maintained. However, exterior stucco now in process of being painted. Stayed one night as convenient to Burlington airport.

Service during the breakfast was very bad, very slow service, no juice & no water available, problem with the pancakes machine that they wouldn’t filled event though they told me they would do it !

We enjoyed our brief stay at Sonesta. All of the staff were very pleasant. Breakfast was good - eggs, pancakes, toast, hash browns, etc. Room had a full size fridge with freezer and microwave. The room was surprisingly quiet. The building is a little run down, but overall this place was great!

Very dirty and outdated, they ran out of food for breakfast at 7am. Would not stay there again

This is a worn property with a great staff. The location is central to all touristy stuff. The pool is meh, breakfast spotty and runs out without replenishment, and the exercise room is not big enough for one person work out in. You must buy synthetic logs to use in the fireplace. Our room had lots of spiders, rust and old food under the sofa. This is an older, utilitarian space that needs deep cleaning and updates. The staff was friendly and helpful but there isn’t much they can do to help this property.

This property is in dire need of a refresh. The exterior is very run down. The room needs a refresh. However, it was clean and comfortable for a 2 night stay. What really irked me was the need to stand in the lobby waiting for the front desk person to appear after waiting about 8-9 min - and she was surly! Both mornings, breakfast was depleted with more than 90 min remaining. Out of coffee, milk, fruit, no eggs, potatoes…you name it it, they didn’t have it. And the staff didn’t make any effort to correct matters. Look, I felt safe and stayed in a clean and comfortable room. For a short stay - no big deal. Would I recommend staying there? No. You can easily find better places.

I stay there almost once a week. They had nothing for breakfast no toast or eggs and three dried up sausage

The photos of this hotel are not accurate. They need updating. The hotel is tired and in desperate need of a make over. Beds were fine and clean but the kitchens are filthy and so are the floors. Our socks were covered in pet hairs and you wouldn't cook food in the oven it was so filthy. Breakfast was awful. Advertised as serving until 10am but at 8am and 9am there were a few strawberries and 3 bits of bread. When we asked for water we were tols there was none! We asked at reception 3 times if they were putting more food out but the staff kept hiding in the offixe and kitchen!
