Gjesteomtaler

Hva gjestene synes

This is a heritage property which has been tastefully renovated. I loved the soft grey colours throughout the hotel & the thick blue carpet in the public areas & Victorian features. There is an open staircase which is really opulent. I walked down 4 floors every morning. On the way up, I never had to wait long for a lift. My room was spacious & had a side view over the west pier and the sea. There was a fridge, ironing board, nespresso machine, aircon, rain shower .. & nothing was lacking. I liked the framed photos and prints dotted around with a Brighton theme. A lot of thought has gone into the decor & comfort for guests. Thanks a lot :)

Great Location, Cool Building with Interesting Historical Character but with Modernised Rooms - but not to the standard that they are charging for them, felt quite overpriced to me as someone who regularly travels, I’ve had much better rooms at the cheaper chain hotels. With the rooms being average you possibly could expect the hotel to justify its high prices through good service instead but again this was also average at best - with the exception of the concierge staff who were all brilliant, everyone else we interacted with felt like they couldn’t care less, nothing they said was particularly rude or wrong, it just felt like a lack of effort and like they were doing the bare minimum - Totally acceptable in a £70 a night Travelodge but not at The Grand’s prices. Everything else felt like a particularly pricey add on to try and fleece you too - parking @ £40 a night, Pool access is £27 a person for a 1.5 hour slot - if you managed to pre-book it, I ordered one alcoholic single and a mixer and a non-alcoholic drink at the bar and paid in excess of £25 for it. They need to either up their service levels / customer experience significantly or drop their prices a chunk to suit what they are currently offering to customers.

We been stay in Brighton for a week, Grand hotel is the second one hotel for us to stay, I have to say we are quite disappointed with service and room, first one is no one give me any information for where we can have breakfast and when, reception was very busy when we check in, but I still think they should let us know about the hotel as is the first time for us come to visit. Second one is the bedding so uncomfortable, I spent over 600 pounds for three nights, I think I should have a comfortable bed, but not, we got a two single bed joint together, and bedding looks very cheap, I already knew that the room won’t have any view as I couldn’t get sea view room, but I couldn’t believe how cheap the bed feels like, I thought grand hotel is the top one in Brighton and has long history, they should have a comfortable bed to match five stars level, but they are not. My 12 years boy complained that the mattress made his back hurt, I been stayed in Double tree Hilton before we move to the Grand, my son and I both think Hilton’s bed much more comfortable, and they also has better views, Third one is the cleaner didn’t clean the room until afternoon 2pm when I came back from the beach, no towel no drink water, I have to wait with wet swimsuit for about half hour for the cleaner to come, I don’t think is her fault, she is very busy , seems like she has to clean all of the rooms, that is too much for her. I am sure next time when I visit Brighton we will choose Hilton hotel.
