Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Lugoff

This was my second time staying there. My first time was during the pandemic, I can understand having the pool closed at the time. But this stay the pool was closed again We asked when would it open. A staff member said that they didn't know when it would open or even why the manager even keeps closing it. This is the summer and people are renting rooms for relaxation and fun. Thought this is something people know that he closes pool for no reason. Won't be staying there anymore.

Ok, but not great. My non-smoking room was clean, but smelled of old smoke and made my throat itch a little. Room was clean and the property was well maintained and even had a truck parking area next door. Convenient off the highway but not noisy.

WHEN WE ARRIVED MY SON SAW THE CAMERA SHOWING THE POOL AND SAID OH THEY HAVE A POOL. THE ECONO LODGE EMPLOYEE SNAPPED "IT'S CLOSED" WITH A VOICE AND LOOK AT MY SON LIKE SHE DID NOT LIKE CHILDREN. WE EXPLAINED WE WERE CHECKING IN FOR THE 1 NIGHT UNDER X NAME. INSTEAD OF STATING SHE WAS NOT FINDING A RESERVATION UNDER X NAME SHE ASKED FOR MY DRIVERS LICENSE AND SET UP A WHOLE NEW RESERVATION AND ASKED FOR PAYMENT. WE LOOKED PUZZLED AND EXPLAINED WE JUST BOOKED IT ONLINE AND ALREADY PAID AND I HAD THE RESERVATION TEXT AND EMAIL. WHEN I PULLED UP THE INFORMATION I REALIZED THE RESERVATION WAS STILL IN MY MAIDEN NAME AND EXPLAINED THIS. AT THIS POINT YOU WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THE WORLD WAS COMING TO AN END. THE EMPLOYEE YELLED OVER FOR THE OTHER GIRL AND THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT US TO EACH OTHER AS IF WE DIDN'T EXIST ANYMORE. IT SEEMED LIKE A VERY SIMPLE FIX BUT SHE STARTED BERATING US THAT "FIRST OF ALL YOU DIDN'T BOOK THRU US YOU BOOKED THRU EXPEDIA....." AT THIS POINT I WAS BOILING MAD BUT REMAINED CALM AND NEVER GOT UPSET WITH THEM. WE CONTINUED TO KILL THEM WITH KINDNESS. SHE FINALLY SAID SHE WAS GOING TO MAKE AN EXCEPTION AND ALLOW US TO STAY SINCE I HAD THE EMAIL SHOWING X NAME. SWEETIE IF YOU REFUSED TO LET US STAY THERE ARE A MILLION OTHER HOTELS FOR US TO CHOOSE. THE NEXT TIME WE TRAVEL THAT WAY WE WILL DEFINITELY CHOOSE ANOTHER HOTEL TO STOP AT. THE ROOM WAS NOT AS CLEAN AS IT COULD HAVE BEEN EITHER.

Rooms were clean and comfortable

Dirty, dingy, smelly rooms. I changed to another and it was the same, sheets turned on to the other side/inside out, but, I could see that it was dirty also with blond and brown hair in the sheets and pillow cases. Room smelled musty, floor felt sticky and grainy as though it had not been swept or mopped. Disgusting.

Not the cleanest places , my kids socks where extremely dirty after walking on the room floor for 30 min , i had to tell them to put shoes on . There is not breakfast at all , not coffee in room . Everything in the room is old really old , one of the lamp wasn’t working, we just used it for one night, but tbh we slept really good , A/C was cold and bed was comfy, i checked the blankets and they were clean so that was really all that mattered for us since it was only for 1 night, we had to moved rooms because the first one they gave us smelled like someone had just smoked in there and we asked for a no smoking room , the lady was really nice and helped us right away and after that we had a good night. For the price i think its good overall, don’t expect something perfect when you are not paying for it , but i do think they need to do better in cleaning those floors!

My stay was ok. The bathroom was not clean. The tub had hair in it and the toilet bowl was not clean. There was dust on both of the headboards.

Bed linen was stained as well as the towels and wash cloth’s.Heater didn’t work so had to move to another room and it smelled like cigarettes.Also bed frame was broken.Could not turn down temperature in refrigerator, froze everything inside.

The property is a bit older but it was clean. I felt comfortable and safe on the property. My room was clean and everything worked just fine. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful. There is a Waffle House next door and it was great also. I would definitely stay again if I'm in the area looking for accommodations.

If I could leave a comment with photos I would. There were cockroaches the size of a bic lighter in this room. Couldn’t get deposit back until next day+3-10 business days. Which I understood. But I left by 8:30 PM after checking in, getting food, coming back and seeing the pathetic excuse for cleanliness. No refund. I ended up sleeping in my truck on my jobsite and paying for the room. Nasty.

The room was real clean slept well.

Great price but chair in the room was pealing terribly and I had to get a towel from front desk to cover it before I could sit in it. Furniture in room was all scratched and ceiling over bathroom was sinking in.

Not a bad place for the price. The beds aren't the best but for 2 nights it was tolerable.

Room smelled like cigarettes even though they say they will charge you $250 If it does. The beds are super uncomfortable. The lady at the desk was nice. The sign says the housekeeping will be every other day but nope they woke me up at 9 am after not getting there till midnight so that sucked. Water is hot

Noisy neighbors, bumping and slapping doors all night. Some of the staff was very rude and lazy. You can't extend extra days without paying the deposit every single time you want to extend. If you book 3 days and pay for those 3 days along with the deposit and decide to add a 4th day, you got to pay for that day along with another deposit and have to dispute the transaction with your bank otherwise they will try to charge you more than once and not initiate the refund.

The picture posted on this review page is so much nicer than the room actually is. Appreciated the vinyl flooring and new tub, new shower surround, and cleanliness, but the condition of the bed, furniture, and sheets was really poor. This location has better than average ratings on hotels.com and I don't think they honestly reflect the rooms.

ROOM WAS PRETTY CLEAN, BEDS WERE HORRIBLE, VERY UNCOMFORTABLE, PROBABLY OLD !!! NEED TO BE REPLACED

Very dated

This was the worst hotel I’ve ever been in. They will lie to you and tell you they have breakfast. They do not and they only have coffee if you request it the night before. The only good thing about this stay was the nice young lady at the desk on Saturday morning and that was the only good thing about this stay!! this hotel needs to be condemned unless you really enjoy being woke up through the night with the smell of pot while someone smokes it outside!! I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel!!! The beds and pillows were absolutely terrible and lumpy!!

Convenient clean, great staff

We didn't expect much for the price.And we just needed a place to sleep.But the service was wonderful.The woman at the desk was great.We had a late Check-in and they still had a room for us.We were very grateful

Check-in was a good experience. The gal at the front desk was helpful, friendly and courteous. The hotel is worn; however, rooms are very clean and comfortable.

We stayed here so my son could do a shift in Lugoff, SC for EMT training thru RC Health Services. I used Expedia points and got a great rate. While it's an older hotel, it's clean & quiet. The water pressure is strong & hot. The staff is friendly & helpful. My son booked another three nights.

It wasn't the hotel itself, the deesk clerk was not very friendly, helpful, just mean

We accidently left a personal item when we checked out. We came back 2 days later and they still had it for us!

Bad, unprofessional clerk. Not even welcome or thanks for the business. Bed sheets, they are old with stains and holes.

Easy check in. Great inexpensive place to crash. Hot water was great.

Just a clean simple room and facility. Great value and a waffle House is right next door.

This place was very clean for the money. It had gas and food near. The ladies were very friendly and I felt welcomed.

Hotel was ok for the price I would...it was affordable. The owner and staff was friendly which is a big plus. The hotel is located directly off I20.

Overall nice for a day stay on budget.Within an hour of Columbia. Bit worn out room conditions but we didn't face any issue for a family stay with a kid.
