Crown Hotel & Bar

The hotel itself was great. We had thought there was a restaurant available for dinner but apparently there was not which was kind of a bummer after driving from Inverness and stopping at Balmoral Castle we didn't really want to go anywhere for dinner. The rooms were really big which was really nice. We stayed a lot of places so I can't really remember the bed comfort so I don't want to mislead anyone on that but they were by far the largest bed that we had and the pillows were comfortable. We couldn't find the area for breakfast although we didn't look all that hard since we didn't pay to have it included with our stay. It's not super close to the city center so it's quiet and it's a bit of a walk to get to City Center. But if you're looking for quiet this is the place. All in all it was a good stay and we'd probably go back.

The hotel doesn't offer breakfast or evening meals anymore but that didnt bother us. We would stay again as the location was lovely and we could easily walk into town in ten minutes.

Walkable to downtown and a few close places to eat. The reception is never manned. The restaurant was always closed. The bar was closed. You get a room and nothing more.

Located in old town area - nice walking area. Room was spacious and well appointed. Hotel appears to be waning - restaurant was not operating. Told manager that we had no hot water. They came to check it and said it was an old building and to let it run. Morning showers were cold.

Excellent location 5 mins from town centre No breakfast available. Perfect hotel for a short visit to Inverness. Room were ready for our 3.00pm check in. Room clean and tidy.

We stayed here for one night on our family trip through Scotland. It was so clean and modern. We booked the family room which had two twin beds and a double. Plenty of room for me and my three adult children. The check went smooth. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Short walk to the castle and Victorian market.

A lovely hotel with friendly, helpful staff. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The electrical sockets have USB connections and the wifi is easy to connect to and fast. We would happily stay here again.

If we could give this property less than a 1 star rating we would. When we checked in there was nobody at the front desk. After waiting for 10 minutes the bartender came from the next door bar and said that he could check us in. So we had to go into a bar with the drunks to get our key. Once we got the key to ROOM 2 we noticed that the room was filthy. The bathroom had pubic hair all over the shower floor. The floor of the bathroom had hair on it and the maid swept dirt and pushed it behind the bathroom door. The room itself wasn't any better. I took off my shoes and had white socks on. I walked across the carpet and my wife said look at the bottom of my socks which were now BLACK. The vertical blinds were falling off on both windows and left on the floor. The windows were open which we thought were odd. We went to complain about the dirty room but the bar had closed and now there was NOBODY to complain too. We were stuck with the flithy room for the night. Once we got in to bed and closed the windows we soon realized why they had left the windows open. The room REAKED of URINE! So much so that we were gagging. My wife had perfume which she sprayed but it only masked the smell for a short time then the URINE smell came back. First thing in the morning we left. No way were we staying there for 3 nights. Tried to complain but NOBODY there. We spent 1 full week trying to get a refund and they have igorned us completely. Do NOT STAY HERE. Sleeping in your car is better

My room was not very clean upon arrival. There were long strands of hair from a previous customer in the bathroom, the bathroom shelf to place your toiletries was broken and all my items fell off, and the room itself smelled moldy and damp. Additionally, my room was only cleaned 1 of the 3 days I stayed even though I never put the sign up to not tend the room, so I had a full trash can and dirty towels most of my stay. Parking right on the premises was a huge plus, and the restaurants and shops were only a 15 minute walk.

The staff is wonderful, very personable and friendly. There is never anyone at the reception desk and you have to go to the bar. Our room was tiny. No place to put luggage so it went on the floor which normally would be okay but there is no walking room so we were tripping over it. We stayed for 4 days and the first two days we had water, one day it was a dribble and the last day we had no water at all coming from the sink or shower.

It's a lovely building and the location is near the city centre which is great. The drawback is lots of traffic noise and the beeping of the crosswalk all night. The bed was quite comfortable and overall the facility was in decent condition. The young man who checked us in was lovely.

Lovely newly decorated rooms done to a high standard. The jacuzzi bath is a bonus but lovely good sized tvs very comfy bed. Would 100 percent stay here again Only complaint would be that it was boiling hot in the room heating was up full blast on arrival. Heater had to be switched off and window opened wide.

Staff was extremely kind and helpful! Water stopped working and I called the help number. They answered immediately and fixed it quickly. Rooms are big and beds are comfortable. Nice shower (when it is running lol). Only issue for us personally is the crosswalk across the street. Every time anyone crosses it makes an extremely high pitched beeping noise. This may only bug us because we are American and not used to that noise—but it was pretty rough to hear every minute or so at 8 am. Not the hotels fault, just good to know if you are a light sleeper!

Great location and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Good parking. We stayed for one night and would stay there again. Only thing that we would remark on is that the TV was not working and the walls were quite thin even for UK standard.

This is a wonderful boutique hotel in the Crown area upper part of Inverness. A short walk to the main hub yet far enough away from the noise of the down town! A short 10 minute walk to shopping, restaurants, train station etc. beautiful historic building on the outside and modern in the inside! Very spacious room with seating and lovely bath.

This hotel has so much potential but is a let down in a few ways. The location is ideal. Away from the hustle of the downtown but a short enough walk to enjoy the downtown area. There was sufficient parking and the check in process was easy and swift despite having to go to the bar area which is in the hotel since there is no one minding the front desk. Tarek was kind and resourceful for recommendations. My complaint of this hotel i believe is valid. There was an issue with water preasure and hot water. This seems to be a repeated issue with this hotel (previous reviews indicate this). The tv also did not work in my room. This wasnt a huge deal and I didnt bother to mention it while i was there. I think minor things could improve this hotel. More hangers and better quality ones than the flimsy plastic ones. Perhaps some body lotion and hooks in the bathroom to hang towels. The pillows were of poor quality and so was the mattress. The size of the room was great (#12).

This was truly the loveliest hotel. Ebony at the front desk was so wonderful and made the stay feel extra special. This was the perfect place to stay while seeing some special sights in Inverness. I highly recommend. And while there is no room service, you can easily order Deliveroo!

The property is great . However, the management was not helpful for an unpleasant situation: the water stopped running in the middle of my shower .when I brought it up to the lady at the front desk she shrugged it off without the slightest attempt to find a solution. I sent an email to the manager and received no answer. I delayed the evaluation for 3weeks + to give them a chance for service recovery. Never happened

Had a great few days hotel was very central and staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay there again.

This place is terribly run. Most of the time there is no staff to be found anywhere, and just a phone number to call on a piece of paper at the check-in kiosk. The water ran out at least 12 times during our two-night stay, sometimes for several minutes. (Three times in a single shower.) The bed had a large spot so soft that it made sleeping impossible. The property is clean and the location is good, but someone needs to buy this place and run it like a proper hotel. The hourly staff were polite, but seemed embarrassed by the place. A weirdly and uniquely terrible lodging experience.

We had 2 rooms and neither one had hot or even warm water. staff had no clue on how to correct it. not fun having to head out on a long road trip the next morning feeling dirty. emailed the hotel immediately the next day and still no response back 2 weeks later. not very good customer service. Also was charged on credit card for 3 rooms when we only had 2. Guess they need extra money to fix water heater.

Good base to explore Inverness and the surrounding area. Lots of off street parking if you hire a car to explore the Highlands. Great parade of shops less than 5 mins walk to stock up on coffee and sandwiches for a day out and a 10 min walk into the centre.

About a 15 minute walk to main area with restaurants and pubs. Quiet and comfortable. Spacious room with sink and microwave. I was concerned about noise given that it was named “hotel and bar” but it was lovely.

The room was perfect, the water hot, and it was a lovely walk from the heart of town!

Huge room with nice bathroom and beds. Walking distance from town centre, albeit around 1-1.5km but an easy walk. Restaurant and bar didn’t seem to active so didn’t bother, went into town instead.

Great hotel for the price point. Was disappointed that the bar wad closed for the entirety of our stay but there were plenty of nearby options.

Overall, a phenomenal value for the price and walking distance to train and bus stations, all tour departures, and downtown. The TV disnt work in my room. Sound only. There is no thermostat. The temperature is controlled by opening, closing, or adjusting the window. No 24-hour front desk which is fine but in order to eat meals you have to register a day ahead, even for a continental breakfast. The “bar” closes at 8pm. Housecleaning service entered my room but neither made the bed nor cleaned the bathroom.
