because not enough room for parking a lot to close to the pole. every time I drove away almost hit the pole. need to more space the parking. I understand the limit space there. just be careful don't hit the pole bent on back of the rear..... thanks!!

The location was great for my traveling purposes. Neighborhood is sort of on the rough side of seedy. The photos on Expedia need updated- there are no lamps, coffee makers, alarm clock, etc. but those items are in the photos. Staff pleasant, new management. May I suggest somewhere on the property to offer a shady picnic table?

Smoke free room, smelled like it had been smoked in before. $160 is kind of high for the room. Surrounding area is ok. Parking is narrow, difficult for bigger trucks to park. Bed wasn't bad, mini fridge worked well. The TV had some damaged pixels. Ac worked well. Shower was nice, toilet didn't disappoint.

Overall very good experience. Had issue with remote not working for tv. Front desk was very helpful switched remotes which worked better and had maintenance fix the issue in the morning. Also didn’t have towels in my room so the attendant went and got towels for me since it was before 9am and maid service had yet to arrive. Was my first time staying at this location and was pleasantly surprised. Bed was comfortable. Parking is well lit and felt secure.

Hotel smelled like smokers even though we got non smoker. Bathroom toilet was broken from the top. The bedding had holes from cigaret smoke. The door in the bathroom would not close properly and was dirty. The smoke detector had plastic over it which was an obvious safety hazard. Room was old and seemed like no upkeep was done to keep the paint or room presentable. Also seems like a lot of people rent the rooms weekly or monthly just made it feel like it was worth the price point paid.

The room had obviously not been cleaned, big hunk of hair on the bathtub, dead bugs on the toilet, sheets had cigarette burns, the smoke detector was missing, no remote for the tv, cockroach in the shower and the plug on the hair dryer was cracked and broken

Check in was done virtually So it was not a good experience. I did not feel safe parking, walking to my room. As soon as I open the door to my room I got a whiff og bleach smell. We left the door open and turn on the air conditioner but it was warm air blowing. Also, the reatroom had cigarettes burns on the seat there were holes in the wall and we seen a cocaroach. I was so upset about the whole situation that i just dropped off my key and left after full 30 min of being there.

The room I stayed in was ok. The floor felt sticky and uncomfortable when I walked around. The most disappointing is there was bed bug and I got bitten multiple times. I have gotten infection for a couple days now and unable to go to work because my hand swollen and itchy so badly. When I booked the place I already checked for the reviews but somehow there is something missing about this place that gives it an above 4 stars rate.

We checked in, found roaches crawling, blood stains on the sheets and there were sketchy people walking around and long term clients living there. We didn’t feel safe. Requested a refund at the front desk, they said we had to go through hotels.com. Called hotels.com, finally spoke to someone who told us it was too late to get a refund because it was now after 4pm. The hotel.com service agent, put me on hold and said he was going to talk to the front desk worker from the hotel, then came back on the phone to say sorry, we can’t refund your 3rooms your not staying in for the night. said they would give me a credit of $70 for my next stay using hotels.com. So I lost over $500. I went back to the front desk, spoke to Harry who stated hotels.com never called the front desk. This was a huge nightmare and money down the drain I wish I would’ve taken more photos, but I just needed to get out of there. Our Lyft guy picked us up and stated to be careful of bed bugs and the people around the hotel. Very sketchy

This property looks nothing like the photos. It is extremely run down. Regardless if you book a non-smoking room, you can still smell the cigarette smoke. The TV in the room had sound but no picture. The towels had hair and red stains as if they were never washed. The toilet didn’t flush properly. I could go on and on about how horrible my experience was at this place. I do not recommend this place at all!!

Room was clean and appeared to be recently refreshed. The lighting was great except in the dressing area. Why do motels always skimp on lighting in an area where we need the best lighting? Electrical outlets were almost nonexistent. The bed was not comfortable, although admittedly, that is a personal issue.

It was ok we didnt stay the night tho. Beds seemed clean for the most part furniture was very worn and in not great condition mini fridge had graffiti in it and was dirty shower curtain had a hole and there was mold in the ceiling in the bathroom also the drawer had no bottom

Every morning we had to ask for clean towels and more toilet paper . Rooms were small and the mattress was horrible. Every morning we both woke up to our backs hurting real bad. For the daily amount we paid there was no coffee maker or cups in the room the only thing that are in the room was a large flat screen TV, a fridge and a old microwave that has a stain around the bottom where the plate sits. No we were not happy with our room and we stayed 7 nights. The office staff was never seen because he stayed in his room probably watching TV. And he was hard to understand. The house keeping staff was nice and hard workers. Will we stay there again? More than likely because that's the only motel in the area we need to be close to our family and friends and maybe just maybe the mattress will be better.

I’ve stayed here 15+ times and I have found that no matter which room I get (never the same one) there are a few things that baffle me. First off, no black-out curtains just blinds which do not block the sun nor do they give any privacy. Furthermore, one of the sides is warped and they would close all the way in the middle or the slats are misaligned from being treated poorly. This was a terrible investment. And, I have never once had a nightstand that had a working drawer. The front is missing, the bottom is missing or both. Very annoying that everything u want close to the bed has to sit on top or in an awkwardly large open space below. And, there is one waste basket for the whole room which is in the bathroom. There should be another at least under the desk or on the side of dresser facing the door. I find myself throwing trash on the floor because who wants to go into the bathroom to throw away trash. And I always forget to move it out when I’m unpacking. Lastly, every TV has a large crack right in the middle sometimes it’s missing a long strip of glass the cracked n fell out. So, the TV is not really a feature nor, are the shutters or the nightstand. This property may have gotten a facelift but the bones are brittle n breaking.

The hotel was nothing of what it was described to be. It appeared very unsafe. The office door was locked. I had to ring a buzzer and request entry so I could register. The registration was conducted via a small screen and not a real person. The room which was described as having an 8.0 rating was not. It smelled and definitely not as shown in the photo. I left the keys on the bed and departed immediately. We did not stay. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I would appreciate a full refund.

They have an automatic system to return the security deposit, but it never worked & not answering the phone! So yes, they took our security deposit! Be careful not to be scammed!

Customer service would not help me cancel & refund when a wrong booking was made 30 days from the reservation. We had to book a night separately when we arrived and it was dirty and neighbors all around were noisy. There isn’t even a front desk helper.

Rodeway inn lemon grove , the check in receptionist was very rude mention it was my first time at the hotel , secondly asked for papers for my service animal which you can't ask for my animals papers by law , thirdly you have stuff falling apart in the room , housekeeping knocking at my window on rushing me to get my food , i felt like rodeway inn east lemon grove was very discriminating made me feel very uncomfortable , on top of that day shift receptionist took 20 dollar deposit out of my 50 because of the sheets , that has nothing to do with damage property and felt scammed out of my money , for a hotel with expensive prices i wouldn't recommend this hotel

I’m honestly not a complainer by nature, but this was the first family vacation we’ve had in a minute and the Rodeway was honestly a horrible experience. The service was awful and I got short/rude answers when I asked questions at check-in. The room is smaller than the pictures make it seem and we were all on top of each other (on of the beds is basically against the wall). The floor is sticky and disgusting and honestly I didn’t want to touch anything including the mugs and microwave. The toilet paper is behind the door, so if you don’t close the door you’ll have to close it into yourself to reach it. The AC/heating unit sounded like it was going to take off every time it got the room to temp. The room also reeked of cigarette smoke and the fire alarm had been disabled. There’s a discount market that nearly shares a parking lot and there was a fight going on when we were checking in. When we were leaving another patrons dog got away from them and tried to attack my husband. When we checked out (at 7:30am because we just needed to. get. out. of. there.) my husband even said we had a horrible experience when checking out and was told “thank you, come again.”

Was leaving my room and got scoped out by a group of 9 guys. They all came out of a 1 bedroom checking out everyone in the area, had another group of men staring at my wife as we walked to our room . DONT RECOMMEND STAYIMG HERE, ITS UNSAFE!

Overall, my stay was okay. The actual location was a bit seedy, with some hidden jewels around a couple of corners The pictures are a bit deceiving, as it is located in between two major but convenient stores. The staff was okay, but the housekeeper was nice and just wanted to do her job, despite the request of no service, so I just had her empty my trash. Being a last minute decision, it was okay, but I would definitely not plan to go there for the cost. I would have rather pay more to be in Downtown San Diego.

Place overall is not in a great location. Price reflects. Room floor was filthy. Walked on it briefly and when I stepped into the shower basically black dirt washed away from my feet. That’s how dirty the floor was. We had a 3 night stay and only stayed 1 night because of the cleanliness and neighborhood not feeling safe. Bed was ok but creaky.

I was surprised at how awful this hotel was considering it's price. I could tell that management was trying to make improvements but for $200 it wasn't even1 star. Tv broken. No hot water. AC rattled and leaked all night. My feet were filty after waking on the floor. I tripped on the uneven top stair going to my room. Its between a Home Depot, Food 4 Less, and a homeless tent camp. It looked like a charming, hidden gem from the listing but it definitely wasn't. Car alarms went off in the middle of the night and someone banged on my door. We left in a hurry the next morning. Glad i wasn't alone!
