Lovely location next to seafront. Convenient parking and within walking distance of town centre. Friendly and helpful staff.

Hotel is in a great location but is let down by tired condition. My room had a loose window that whistled all night in the wind, the old bathroom could have been cleaner, low hot water pressure. My friend’s room hadn’t been cleaned properly, still had rubbish from previous occupant behind the chair. It took 2 complaints over 2 days to be resolved but not satisfactorily. Housekeeping is every 3 days, not daily as Expedia says, we weren’t told this at check in. Staff are friendly but not as professional as I would expect for a large busy hotel. Restaurant staff gave me a jug of milk off a used table when I requested milk! Hotel is probably ok for an overnight stay but not longer. Free secure parking is great but it was a disappointing experience overall.

Room was quite basic and shabby, but seemed to be clean. No facility for a 'Do not disturb' sign if you wanted to stay in the room. However, the room was not cleaned in between the two nights I was there which I though was a little strange. Good supply of tea/ coffee etc and plenty of complimentary bathroom stuff. Bed was very creaky and I kept waking myself up whenever I turned over! Mattress was a little too hard for me - but that's a personal preference. Good blackout curtains. Staff very pleasant and helpful whenever approached. Was a little surprised that rooms were not easily accessible when you had heavy suitcases. There was a lift, but then still lots of stairs to climb to get to the room - would put me off staying again unless I could be assured of an accessible room. I'm not disabled as such, but find it a real struggle to try and lug a heavy case up stairs like that.

Old style hotel. Staff very helpful. Lift did not serve first floor but case carried up to room by lovely reception staff. Evening meal good. Acceptable cleanliness of room and bathroom.

This is a beautiful hotel right on the promenade with sea views. There are some great things about this hotel, and there are some things that they certainly could do better. The staff are amazing and extremely helpful and very friendly. The breakfast was good. The dining room is nice, food was good and has great sea views. The bar/pub was nice. The staff are very friendly and helpful, but it could certainly use a lot more seating. They’ve got a lot of upholstered chairs, but they certainly could get a lot more seating if they change the type of seating that they have. Now for the bad; the rooms are very old and need updating. Even just some paint where everything’s chipped and redo the grout in the bathtub/shower where all the mildew is would be helpful. The bathtub also needs a shower mat. It was extremely slippery and could be dangerous for people that are older and have balance issues. The bathroom had old linoleum probably from the 1950s and that should be changed out. The bedding leaves a lot to be desired. The pillows were flat. The bed was very soft and saggy and the duvet insert was more like a flat pillow, which is very strange. I’ve never seen anything like it. Most duvets are either feather or some alternative, but to have a flat thick piece of foam inside is very weird. The sheets were also too small for the bed and would not stay tucked in and the mattress pad wouldn’t stay on. I know these are little things, but these little things make the stay much more com

It's always a safe booking at the Queens. I know I will get a comfortable bed and friwndly staff. 24 hour bar and a good breakfast. I stay regularly for business.

Chair lift access from car park. Often left so could not use no notification of alternative access. And door bell to call for help broken for 2 days staff unaware

A lovely old, nostalgic beachfront Hotel in Penzance, that’s been well looked after. It was very clean throughout. My room was clean, spacious, with a super comfy bed, plus a delightful view of the ocean. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and informative, plus!, there was Safe and secure parking, which was a bonus.

Bathroom black mould, cold tap wobbled. Floor was patched up and broken dirty, towel rail rusty. Bed sheets not even tucked in. Breakfast basic staff spot wiped table so we had crumbs and sticky marks, waitress put fingers in cups. One waitress has a polo shirt that looked as if not been washed for a while no aprons. Tea was tepid ran out of brown bed. Exceptional over priced. Would not return

Nice old building echoing seaside holidays in years gone by. Room service only once every three days. No soap - and shower gel sufficient for only one shower - so take your own. Low water pressure in the shower, barely sufficient. Packed lunch in lieu of breakfast at £10-95 should be priced at under £4. Noisy gulls outside the window squaking all night. The staff are very nice and do their best.

A decent but well-worn hotel, in desperate need of a refresh, but clean and accommodating, not bad for the price

This old hotel is delightful in its historical ambiance. The staff was wonderful. However, the whole place needs paint, carpet and a thorough cleaning. My room had dirt clumps on the carpet and pieces of plastic (as would come on a straw.) The whole wing smelled musty and dank. If you can handle the creepy, dirty carpets and dust, it’s an experience.

Room not clean and needs to be updated

Our first impression was a charming old hotel with an excellent location with great sea view. We thought it was worth 7 points out of 10. Creaking and crooked floors and screaming doors may have some charm. We were told upon check-in that our room would be cleaned just once during our 5 nights stay. And that should be on Wednesday. So far that was OK, we just had to ask for more toilet paper before that. But no cleaning was done on Wednesday. When we asked why, we were told the cleaning would be on Thursday, two days before we should leave. But no cleaning was done that day either, because no cleaners had showed up. Now we had to ask for new towels. And the dustbin was full, since it was not emptied for three days. At this point we started notice that dirty towels had been lying around on strange places in the building for a couple of days. The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful, and tried to do their best for us. No complaints at them. It’s the organisation it is something wrong with. In addition to lack of cleaning, the shower was bad. The water was just dripping, not running. The windows that should give us the great sea view, was full of seagull’s poo. And I believe that had been there for weeks. The beds and the breakfast was OK. But because of all the bad things, the 7 points must end up as 4 instead. Penzance, however, is a great place to visit with several attractions nearby to visit.

The hotel is clean but it all needs updating. The rooms are big but a mis match of furniture, and two uncomfortable and grubby tub chairs. The bathroom was huge but very neglected. It could have a huge walk in shower instead of a bath tub. The breakfast buffet was very limited, no pastries or crumpets. Not even a selection of milks. No fresh fruit. The cooked breakfast was nice. The staff were all friendly. Wouldn’t stay here again

It was comfortable but very dated. Shower over bath poor. Small bed even though rooms large! Windows didn't fit so noisy.

Breakfast food wasn't up to the standard we get at comparable hotels. The room was clean, comfortable and overlooked the sea which was good but could do with updating. The TV was tiny and the coffee/tea making set up was very basic. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Dog friendly.

The room was boiling hot no way to control the temperature, you could hear everyone’s movements so it’s a noisy hotel but staff were friendly and welcoming

Unable to use cpap machine because no outlets near the bed. Hole in the wall - unrepaired. Hotel needs TLC.

We had a free upgrade to a seaview room which was lovely (apart from the unfortunate seagull poo down the middle of the window - a hazard of being right on the seafront). The room was light and airy, nicely decorated and fairly modern compared with the little corridor which was in the middle of being worked on. Great views over the promenade, and it was pretty quiet compared to some seaside towns we've stayed in. Breakfast was a bit disappointing. Cold buffet had plenty of cereals, juices, yoghurt and fruit, but no pastries. Hot food was via order. Full english - my teen wasn't impressed with the bacon, sausage or mushrooms. He had a slice of toast delivered with mould on but that was replaced with no issues. There were a lot of hot specials choices. My smashed avocado was ok - the poached eggs were perfectly cooked, but the toast was burnt. On other days we stuck with the american pancakes with berries and maple syrup which were delicious, and scrambled eggs on toast - tasty granary bread, and the eggs were really nice. Spot on for eggs of any type. Staff were all friendly and helpful, and front reception desk service was always fast. We paid for ultra fast broadband, but struggled to connect, then dropped out a lot. Speed test was only 4-5 mpbs. Don't bother paying for it, basic wifi was usable. Shower was cold - couldn't get it to warm up. But thankfully 3rd morning was warm. Lovely stay overall, and we'd stay again as the location was brilliant with free parking

The communal areas were fine with good virews of the prom but some parts of the hotel were really rundown …which was where our stay was. The way the room was advertised I was expecting a sea view but unfortunately we had a lovely view of the car park and fire escape…right on the top floor ..room was also quite small.

Very handy for Penlee Park Theatre. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast service took almost 20 minutes before order was taken and the entire breakfast event took almost an hour. The hotel room needed maintenance for the cistern in the toilet that did not flush effectively. Windows are in need of repair. The front desk staff were very attentive and helpful.

Clean, nice staff and great food.

The property, the quality of management, the staff and the food were all excellent. We were perhaps unfortunate in having a room with drawbacks: a lack of electric sockets - it was only possible to plug in the kettle on the floor, to plug in my laptop I had to unplug the phone,: the bathroom was cold - a huge single-glazed window that could not be closed completely, a very small towel rail radiatior that was barely on, nowhere by the basin to put anything (except the floor). Maybe it's the hotels.com problem: you get the worst room in the hotel if you book through hotels.com.

One evening the service in the restaurant was terrible waiting over an hour between starter and main course in the end gavce up and cancelled the meal. The excuse given was we only have one chef on this evening which is not good enough

I stayed 4 nights as a single traveller on family business. All the staff I met were helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable although the toilet needed coaxing to flush. I reported this and there was a slight improvement after a visit from maintenance. However I was most concerned that the fire escape overlapped the sash window and would prove an easy point of entry if the window was unsecured. It also affects privacy in the room. I noticed people using the fire escape as a short-cut to the car park. It is also easily accessible from the street. I had been told that my room would only be serviced on Day 3, but I could request extra towels, etc. The room was not serviced at all. Finally, having booked dinner one evening, I wasn't warned that a large group were booked in at the same time, even when I checked my booking at reception on my return in the afternoon. Consequently I waited 45 minutes to be served. The hotel has a great location and enormous potential, plus very pleasant staff. It does need an update and a review of procedures though.

Splendid place that reflects the grandeur of a past era. ' A grand old lady' in , what must be, the very best location in Penzance. Just across the road is the extra wide prom and the sea. Amazing panoramic views. The staff are delightful andextremely helpful. We're happy to stay again when in the area.

The Queens Hotel is right on the waterfront in Penzance, England. It is about a mile to the train station and about half mile to the ferry to the Isles of Scilly. Breakfasts came with the room and were good. The building is old and floors creak, but that was not an issue. The main market street is 10 minutes away. There's a good fish 'n chips carryout two doors down.

Hotel a bit tired, however my room itself looked more updated, especially the bathroom. Comfortable bed, no complaints about the room. Was able to park in the car park for four of my five nights and found parking easy enough nearby on the night I couldn't. Only complaint was the food, it is dire. I had breakfast included but after the first day I didn't bothet again. The worst ever full English I've ever haf.

Great sea view. Terrible evening meal with 'fish of the day' swimming in fat and pavlova from cheap meringue case and no pistachio as described. Mostly chocolate chips normally for cooking, in synthetic cream and sickly sweet. Not enjoyable after a long journey. Would not eat in tha restaurant again.

The building and facilities are quite shabby. Lots of mold in the bathroom. Terrible food . The saving grace of this little hotel is is staff. World class service and friendliness . True Cornish hospitality. Would I stay again? I think I would.

Bedroom looked out onto a side street but there was still a good view of the sea from there. Bed was comfortable - very hot though - although I did stay during a very hot week! Bedroom was clean & tidy and included an ensuite bath and shower. Unsure how to turn on light attached to the wall by the telly (could not find mains or light switch) and one of the bedside lamps was not working. This were my only issues though. Staff were really friendly, kind & professional. They agreed to look after my luggage prior to check-in - really appreciated this as was traveling by public transport and it can be hard lugging it around everywhere. They even topped up my water bottle before I left. Had Eggs Florentine for breakfast which was cooked to perfection and was delicious! There were a range of hot breakfasts available along with cereals, toast, fruit salad, teas, coffee, fruit juice, etc.

Queens is very located on the Penzance waterfront. The staff are friendly and helpful, there’s a good choice at breakfast, and the restaurant serves very nice food at other meals. There are some lovely public rooms for relaxation.

Fabulous hotel and views of the sea in Penzance had a restful nights sleep was given a quiet room and the breakfast was very good lots of Vegan choices. Wonderful stay will definitely highly recommend to friends and family. Thank you.
