Accusation within 3 buildings. Secure and quiet but close to shops and restaurants. Some nice walks without needing the car. Rooms comfortable. Excellent breakfast service. Spa facilities: pool, sauna, steam room, indoor and outdoor hot tub Treatments were all booked up so unable to comment. But it’s Clarins so will be good.

Hotel very clean and comfortable, great room and bed, nice bar/lounge area. However one reason i booked this hotel was of the spa facilities, which were disappointing, the sauna and steam room were poor temperature wise, and the indoor pool was quite cool. Cooked breakfast could have been better.

We had a lovely stay, the hotel couldn’t have been better positioned, we parked the car up when we arrived and didn’t use it until we left. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and the facilities were very good, the pool was a little cold for me but my girlfriend loved it as she did 60 lengths every morning, I managed to pass the time in the outdoor jacuzzi quite well though lol.

Great variety of hot, cooked-to-order breakfasts as well as wide range of continental items, all of which were great quality. We were also offered tea or fresh coffee and fresh juice that was brought to the table, along with toast. Room was comfortable and cosy. We had a balcony room overlooking Ambleside high street. Room was generally clean, just a few attention to details missing such as on the towel radiator. We ate in the restaurant ain’t the evening, enjoyed the food we ordered (main and dessert). We had an Irish coffee in the bar afterwards. Would be nice to have a drinks menu in the bar offering a wider selection/few cocktails as there was only a wine menu. Service was great throughout our stay. We used the pool which was nice, really liked the outdoor spa pool. The steam and sauna were ok but didn’t have very good seals around the door so the didn’t reach the high temperature I’m used to.

Great hotel. Location close to shops, pubs and restaurants and also not far for walks and exploring the countryside. All staff were welcoming and friendly. Room was lovely and clean. Breakfast was nice and the spa was great too and not too busy! Would recommend and would stay here again ☺️

Fabulous hotel in the middle of Ambleside. Staff were all amazing ... fantastic customer service from everyone we encountered. Room was comfortable, beautifully decorated, and very clean and quiet. Plenty of free parking available on site. Public areas were expansive, relaxing and once again very well presented. We really enjoyed our stay and are already planning a return trip for a longer period. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to all.

Lovely hotel with excellent staff. Very clean, quiet to say it is based in a central location. The parking is a challenge but just needs careful driving skills. The breakfast is plentiful and tasty. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are well lit with plenty of storage. The towels are large and comfortable. There could be a little more by the way of toiletries, no conditioner provided for example but this is a minor niggle. This is our second stay and we would return again.

The cleanliness of the hotel was very good and staff very friendly and helpful. We did have a problem with the heating in our room which was resolved very quickly after we informed the reception. The lounge areas are very comfortable and peaceful. A great place to relax and actually read a newspaper whilst having a cup of coffee.

Lovely room. Very clean and comfortable. Excellent housekeeping. Delicious breakfast. Very good service. Fabulous facilities with gym, pool, jacuzzi and steam room plus spa treatments. Parking is limited but managed to get parked at the rear after going out. Ambleside is so nice. Great shopping and places to eat. Exceptional recommendations for dining are The Apple Pie cafe and Finellis vegetarian restaurant (extremely tasty although portions too large for us). Plenty to do in the area. Hawkshead, Windermere cruises, Bowness, Beatrix Potter at Hill Top to name only a few. Highly recommend.

Lovely hotel, very professional and friendly staff. Our room was airy and comfortable with a lovely balcony overlooking the beck, the sound of the waterfall was very relaxing. The breakfast has plenty of choice and was beautifully cooked and presented. We have stayed at the Salutation a number of times and it never disappoints; we had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay and look forward to returning.

We stayed in one of the suites, Olive 1, for the night. The room is lovely and very clean. Very nice touch having a jacuzzi bath, steam room and sauna all in the room. Highly recommend staying here. We will be returning.

On arrival we were given a very poor room but we we were then upgraded to a fabulous room with a balcony and our stay was very nice altho the room was very warm during the night .The breakfast was fabulous .we would stay again if we got a similar room .The location was excellent too

Really enjoyed our stay there. The room was large and modern. The real selling points of this hotel are i) the spa facilities which far exceeded our expectations and really were wonderful ii) the extremely convenient location and easy parking. The hotel staff were also lovely and very helpful. Minor point of feedback is that we stayed during summer and the room seemed very hot during the night, despite opening the window as far as possible. Suggest air conditioning would be helpful if possible

Lovely hotel and spa. Staff very helpful and friendly. We have a small car and found it awkward to park. Our room (303) was a long walk from reception and up narrow stairs with no lift for a heavy suitcase.

We absolutely loved our stay at Ambleside. We were given a spa room upgrade after the first room we had. The staff are outstanding here from Ash at reception to Manuel in the dining room and Hannah in the spa. The many lounge areas are lovely and very tastefully decorated. This will be our go to hotel when we return to Ambleside! Thank you for an incredible 3 night stay!

Fabulous hotel in the middle of Ambleside. Staff were all amazing ... fantastic customer service from everyone we encountered. Room was comfortable, beautifully decorated, and very clean and quiet. Plenty of free parking available on site. Public areas were expansive, relaxing and once again very well presented. We really enjoyed our stay and are already planning a return trip for a longer period. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to all.

We had a problem with the first room we stayed in and the staff could not have been more helpful in finding us another room. Took us to room after room for us to get one perfect for us. Excellent breakfast. Great central location. Easy on-site parking. Everything spot on!

Great variety of hot, cooked-to-order breakfasts as well as wide range of continental items, all of which were great quality. We were also offered tea or fresh coffee and fresh juice that was brought to the table, along with toast. Room was comfortable and cosy. We had a balcony room overlooking Ambleside high street. Room was generally clean, just a few attention to details missing such as on the towel radiator. We ate in the restaurant ain’t the evening, enjoyed the food we ordered (main and dessert). We had an Irish coffee in the bar afterwards. Would be nice to have a drinks menu in the bar offering a wider selection/few cocktails as there was only a wine menu. Service was great throughout our stay. We used the pool which was nice, really liked the outdoor spa pool. The steam and sauna were ok but didn’t have very good seals around the door so the didn’t reach the high temperature I’m used to.

The cleanliness of the hotel was very good and staff very friendly and helpful. We did have a problem with the heating in our room which was resolved very quickly after we informed the reception. The lounge areas are very comfortable and peaceful. A great place to relax and actually read a newspaper whilst having a cup of coffee.

A great hotel in a prime location . Staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast was excellent and refreshingly full service no making tea and toast. Parking could be a little challenging at times but it also has some free access to 13amp plugs to charge your car. We had a balcony onto a lovely waterfall but smoking is allowed . Would definitely stay again if in the area. Ambleside is great for vegetarian / vegan.

The most amazing anniversary stay. We stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is in an amazing location with a lot of hikes nearby. The hotel room we stayed in had a hot tub in and it was lovely to relax. We attended the spa as well which was gorgeous!

On arrival we were given a very poor room but we we were then upgraded to a fabulous room with a balcony and our stay was very nice altho the room was very warm during the night .The breakfast was fabulous .we would stay again if we got a similar room .The location was excellent too

Don’t let the cleaning staff put you off having your room done. A knock on the door and they ask if we need anything. I felt as though I just had to say yes clean towels and coffee . On the first night I took the duvet out of the cover as it was too warm. Told the cleaner the next morning and then she said do you want me to make the bed. So I made the bed for the remaining 2 nights. (I can do that at home. ) The sink was never cleaned nor the toilet. Overall we had a lovely 3 nights stay and the hotel was lovely. Breakfast was lovely too . The room cleaning was my only gripe maybe I should have been assertive and asked her to do room service.
