Good value hotel right next to the train station, paid parking available locally. I stayed two nights and the hotel offered me a free drink at the bar if i didn't want housekeeping. I was glad to accept.

Great location for station and nightlife. Hotel staff are fantastic and professional. Hotel is a little dated (old bathrooms etc), I would say 3* but with some investment this place could be fantastic. You can tell some money has been spent with carpeting and general maintenance. Convenient car park adjacent.

All good. The parking is slightly odd. It’s at the back of the hotel down an alley. Whilst a sign is clear in daylight at 2300 it’s obscure I’m afraid. The hel and breakfast are great as is the parking just the direction signs

Staff we're very friendly and helpful. Room was dirty,old and extremely warm. Room had stains on walls and ceiling. Headboard had never been cleaned. Bathroom was mix 70s style and colour very worn bath and antique shower

the hotel is dated, the room they gave me wasn't adequate, sheets on the bed wasn't 100% clean, tied and dirty, had to change the room. taps had no heads on, bathroom suite was from the 1970s

Stayed here for two nights. And it met all my needs. Bed was super comfy and the room was cleaned to a high standard. There's only three things that would have made it better. 1) The shower didn't produce and hot water. 2) The Hairdryer didn't work. 3) The club music from other venues could be heard so clearly on a Saturday night until 2am, but I understant that can't be changed and didn't entierly put me off.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff , the first thing that I noticed was the entrance looking down , it looked amazingly clean and welcoming. The lift was on the left side soon as you walk in which makes it easier to locate , our room was clean and has comfortable beds and was very roomy , the bathroom was spacious and clean , the staff that clean the rooms do an amazing job , we had a lovely stay and will definitely stay again .

Very friendly staff; very welcoming at check in and were helpful when we asked to leave our cases/bags after check out. The room was clean (3rd floor) and had everything we needed. The bathroom was a tad dated but obviously due to the age of the hotel. We stayed mid week so no problems with noise etc. The hotel is ideally sited within 2 min walk from the station. Would definitely stay here again.

Convenient hotel right next to the station. Staff were very helpful - check-in was quick and easy, and breakfast was good. I was only there for 1 night - arrived late and left early. Mattress in my room was very soft - would have preferred something a bit firmer. Rooms were quiet, but were very dated and could do with some TLC.

Single room on the top floor. 306 I believe. - you can only get under the shower head if you are below 5ft tall. I’m 6’2. - you hear every word of the tannoy from the train station next door from 6am onwards. Good wake up call if you want to be up that early, I don’t.

Hotel bathrooms need refurb really neglected with patching up Bed very uncomfortable two mattresses zipped together to form a double bed but both significant different heights. Kept waking up as it feels as though about to fall off bed as you go from one level to another. Won’t use again

Decent place for a stop over, right next to railway station. Plenty of food options and shopping area is literally 5 mins walk. Sleep quality is okay, bathroom small and manageable, did not try the food. Easy check-in, checkout. No air-conditioning as it is supposed to be cold all the time but unfortunately felt the heat during the stay.

Great and friendly staff, nice bar. The Saturday night - the nosiest room I have ever stayed in - right next to night clubs - constant and very loud noise until 3.00-4.00 in the evening - sleep impossible.

The room was a good size and was very functional, although I couldn't get the shower to run hot water, but the bath would, so a bath it was. A little bit noisey but not bad. Bed was a bit hard. Great location.

This has obviously has money spent on updating since I last stayed here. Was very impressed that they had a promotion about not changing Towels and you get a free drink. Service was just about Average reported TV not working and Window stuck open and nobody dealt with it in three days. Checking out got attitude from reception and when asked to buy was told bar was closed as I was now non guest (by same lady foing my check out.

Hotel well positioned for the station. Comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent, a pity they don't do evening meals but the lady on reception said this might be in the pipeline which would be nice as the bar and restaurant very pleasant. Good value one night stay.

Reasonably priced and ideal for city centre.The lobby was lovely and the receptionist was very helpful and friendly. The room was acceptable if a little tired. We went to the bar and ordered some drinks,the red wine had been open too long and was off and there was no ice,this may sound picky but when I am paying premium prices for drinks I expect them to be right. Maybe a bit more training for your bar staff would help

Room adequate but was internal with no view, Bathroom small and had no hot water for shower in evening. Breakfast was buffet style and absolute disaster with staff not refilling food and had to be asked to do so as there were empty trays with nothing to choose from. When they did eventually refill, the bacon and sausage were cold. Very disappointing overall as this was for a birthday treat. :(

The hotel is in a great location, near rail and bus stations. The room was spacious and had hairdryer, iron, ironing board, fan etc. The toiletries provided were lovely. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Traditional old hotel, very clean and excellent staff. Room was large and comfy bed, breakfast nice choice and plentiful food. Only complaint was that we stayed at weekend and noisy outside until small hours from people gathering at taxi rank nearby hotel entrance.

All good. The parking is slightly odd. It’s at the back of the hotel down an alley. Whilst a sign is clear in daylight at 2300 it’s obscure I’m afraid. The hel and breakfast are great as is the parking just the direction signs

Very outdated and grubby bedroom. The bin hadn't been emptied from the previous occupant and the room hadn't been well hoovered. Poor, ill fitting windows meant I could hear every announcement from the train station next door during the night. The main rooms were pleasant enough. Good location for the train station and town.

The room was very clean, and the lighting was fantastic, with a decent centre light that could be turned on and off from the bed. Decent bedside lamps, which worked well; none of the single candle power when the hotel was run by Hallmark. Having had nightmares with those stupid plastic key cards in the past, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the wooden version worked to perfection every time we used it. Would other hotels please take note! One thing I would comment on is that one has to ask for our room to be cleaned. I don't have a problem with that. But it would be useful if there was somewhere where we could put our plastic bags of rubbish each morning. I particularly liked the idea of being given tickets to show we had paid for our breakfast. At £10 each were excellent value for money. The yoghurt is to die for, as are the croissants. I have eaten many croissants over the years, and believe me, these are the best. It was also good to see a nice selection of fruit already prepared. We didn't try the tea, coffee, or hot chocolate; we prefer fruit juice, which is excellent, with just the correct amount of sweetness. I did have a bit of an argument with the orange dispenser; we obviously did not speak the same language! It was great that there was a choice of fried or scrambled eggs. Hubby did enjoy the sausage and bacon, but he was a bit put out that there were no mushrooms! There were also tomatoes, hash browns and baked beans on the menu.
