Lovely hotel, looks like its been recently refurbished as our room and the communal areas were beautifully decorated. Our room and bathroom was comfortable and spacious and the food in the restaurant was excellent.

Very clean good facilities. Comfortable beds, plenty of space, good parking, lovely bar and restaurant. Charged full price however for one child eating half a slice of toast. Would stay again but perhaps opt out for breakfast for us personally, friendly staff.

We spent one night at the hotel. Two rooms, one of which was a dog friendly room. We were impressed with everything. Food was fabulous, staff were genuine and friendly. Rooms were great value and spotless. Would definitely recommend. Thank you Crooklands.

Excellent room very clean and modern with comfortable bed. Walk in shower very good and easy to operate. Breakfast was as expected for busy dining room . Only downside was the barrage of emails about checking in on line and reserving a table in the restaurant. System may work fine if booking one room but is complicated if you book room for another person as well . This might be a booking agent problem or the hotels .

Checking in beforehand on the app made things a lot easier. We were welcomed warmly by staff. The hotel and the room was immaculate and very cosy. The beds were extremely comfortable. We would definitely go back in the future.

The room was an upgrade but was really unhappy with the mould around the bath was very bad A 5 pound mould spray would have eliminated that in 20 minutes so guests would not need to look at it

Excellent hotel on the fringes of the lake district. Great restaurant for an evening meal as well. Room was comfortable and clean and was nice and quiet at night.

Room noisy view of roof and nothing else. Loud system on roof running all night. Room 6. Steer clear. Sheets clean but stained…. Won’t be staying here again. I think it must depend on which room you get to how good your stay is.

Very nice, friendly staff. The whole hotel looks newly decorated. We had three rooms, two of which had brand new furnishings and bathrooms. The third room looked like it was in the process of renovation and was awaiting new furniture but the old stuff was fine. Staff were excellent. Very polite and helpful. Food was very good and the restaurant was well run. Next time we visit the area we will be looking to book this hotel again.

First impressions of reception was bright with nice furniture. Room we were given was complete opposite.Dark furniture in a dark room.Daylight was minimal due to trees and walls from our bathroom and one next door blocking out light. Lights in the room gave minimal glow meaning we were glad we only had to suffer 1 night in room 8.

Fantastic hotel. Our group of 13 stayed here and loved it. Couldn’t fault the service at all. Table was ready at the correct time, food was served very quickly (after we preordered a few weeks earlier) and good beer. We’ll be booking here again!

The hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. We were very impressed by the professionalism, friendliness and welcoming attitude. The restaurant was so good too. The chef is amazing with a great variety of top class dishes. The hotel is in a lovely area and ideal for our needs. We will absolutely return.

This hotel was perfect for us, but our stay was marred by the attitude of the restaurant manager on our last night. She was very curt with us when there had been a problem with the booking for our meal- which was an error on the part of the hotel. Every other staff member we spoke to was lovely but on our last night, her manner was very abrupt & less than helpful. Very disappointing, especially as we had stayed for 4 nights.

Lovely hotel, looks like its been recently refurbished as our room and the communal areas were beautifully decorated. Our room and bathroom was comfortable and spacious and the food in the restaurant was excellent.

Fantastic hotel. Our group of 13 stayed here and loved it. Couldn’t fault the service at all. Table was ready at the correct time, food was served very quickly (after we preordered a few weeks earlier) and good beer. We’ll be booking here again!

Lovely 2 night stay. Food was lovely and staff very helpful. Very busy on Second night and had to eat in the bar even though I had booked restaurant weeks ago, but otherwise couldn’t fault it.

I was staying here on business for 4 nights. The restaurant was closed on the first night due to staff shortages but when I did eat in the food was very good. Given what I was paying I was surprised that there was no carpet in the room and was glad I had taken my slippers!

Very clean good facilities. Comfortable beds, plenty of space, good parking, lovely bar and restaurant. Charged full price however for one child eating half a slice of toast. Would stay again but perhaps opt out for breakfast for us personally, friendly staff.

Friendly and polite staff from reception to bar/restaurant to housekeeping. Beautiful decor giving all public areas a sense of comfortable style and an upmarket but ´ at home ´ feeling. Rooms were spacious enough and bathrooms clean and well maintained. The only tiny niggle was the dinner menu which wasn’t hugely inspiring (mainly in the starter area) and also the pie which, although filling was absolutely delicious, was not encased in pastry but also the pastry topper was bit stodgy and not flaky puff pastry. As I say a tiny thing but when coming up North from London you look forward to an excellent pie. The other mains were excellent and all were piping hot. Breakfast was also fine, nicely cooked full breakfast and lots of choice for cereals, yogurt and toast, although didn’t see any croissants, as was on the menu. We visited as a large family group, overall a wonderful stay and all have said we would stay here again. Thanks Crooklands.

Overpriced hotel with staff who take their misery out on customers. Dirty room, marks on the wall, no fridge in the room, towel wiped marks on the coffee stained spoons in the coffee mugs in the room, no fresh fruit in the (paid) breakfast, flies circling around the breakfast buffet, stale looking cereal, anything other filter coffee not included in the (paid) breakfast. Bathroom mirror too high above the sink, to the point that you can’t even see yourself. The flattest pillows ever known to man and no fan or aircon in the rooms. A sleepless hot night followed by a fly infested tinned fruit breakfast. Lovely. No idea how this hotel has a good rating.
