The bedroom excellent , lounge beautiful lovely views over Pitlochry, real fire, drinks service. Evening meal beautiful presentation and fabulous tastes, great range of individually cooked choices for breakfast. No lift, the balcony rooms for the mountain goats but well worth it if you are fit. There are ground floor rooms but need to be specified . The staff are very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed at this charming hotel July 15-18 and were so pleased that we picked this property in Pitlochry. Perched on a hill, the hotel is a lovely 19th century stone building and the interior is impeccably maintained and spotlessly clean. We had a premium room and were amazed by the size and beautiful views over Pitlochry. Our first night we decided ahead of time to dine at the hotel and it was absolutely wonderful. From the canapés and drink in the lounge to the last bite of dessert it was delicious. The included breakfast is top notch; I had a full Scottish breakfast one day and all the ingredients are clearly high quality, expertly prepared. On our last day we had to leave early for the airport and were hoping that we’d be able to perhaps get a breakfast roll or something for the car ride. Mind you, breakfast starts at 8:00 and we were leaving by 7:00. Not only did we get breakfast sandwiches, they thoughtfully added some other goodies like shortbread, bottled water and crisps and even came in early (before 7:00!) and made us coffees to take away! Wonderful hotel in scenic Pitlochry. Our room was delightful and the bed was soooo comfortable. The breakfast room was beautiful. The sitting room off of the lobby was so warm and cozy with the fireplace burning. Great location. Breakfasts are all cooked to ordered. Excellent food but slow. We loved Pitlochary and hope to come back.

Incredible dining experience! Dinner was amazing. Breakfast delicious also. Wonderful staff/service. Room was very clean and had all necessary amenities in a somewhat tight room with a queen bed. Lovely how they have guests together in the living room prior to dinner service. One concern was we arrived 20 minutes early to check in and we’re promptly told our room wasn’t ready and maybe we could take a walk into town. That was fine with us but it was done, sadly, in an unwelcoming manner

The room was very clean and warm. Toiletries, bath robes and slippers provided (although slippers a little on the large size for me, just being a size 2) !! Staff very efficient and friendly. Breakfast very nice and served to order lovely and hot. Dinner was also delicious. Coffee/tea was served in lounge following dinner in front of a lovely roaring log fire. Overall highly recommend this excellent hotel and will definitely return in the future.

Had a wonderful stay. Staff were super friendly and you felt they genuinely wanted to make your stay special. The location was super with fantastic views from the balcony. Booked 1 evening meal in the restaurant but wished we’d booked 2. Would definitely stay there again.

Overall Staff was great (most of them, one seemed to be annoyed to have to serve us) - the meal was good, room was okay but way too much for what it was. Town was amazing, people there amazing, all to say it was great but the stay felt a bit uppity and proper British, while it’s a nice Scottish place that generally means friendly people - some of the patrons there ruined that for us (some old British man making us feel a bit out of place) - the hotel can’t help the patrons they serve, but it was fairly expensive for what you got compared to other places we stayed in Edinburgh and other areas around Scotland.

The Knockendarroch Hotel is at the top of our list for quality, service, comfort and value. What a gem in Perthshire.
We stayed at this charming hotel July 15-18 and were so pleased that we picked this property in Pitlochry. Perched on a hill, the hotel is a lovely 19th century stone building and the interior is impeccably maintained and spotlessly clean. We had a premium room and were amazed by the size and beautiful views over Pitlochry. Our first night we decided ahead of time to dine at the hotel and it was absolutely wonderful. From the canapés and drink in the lounge to the last bite of dessert it was delicious. The included breakfast is top notch; I had a full Scottish breakfast one day and all the ingredients are clearly high quality, expertly prepared. On our last day we had to leave early for the airport and were hoping that we’d be able to perhaps get a breakfast roll or something for the car ride. Mind you, breakfast starts at 8:00 and we were leaving by 7:00. Not only did we get breakfast sandwiches, they thoughtfully added some other goodies like shortbread, bottled water and crisps and even came in early (before 7:00!) and made us coffees to take away! Incredible dining experience! Dinner was amazing. Breakfast delicious also. Wonderful staff/service. Room was very clean and had all necessary amenities in a somewhat tight room with a queen bed. Lovely how they have guests together in the living room prior to dinner service. One concern was we arrived 20 minutes early to check in and we’re promptly told our room wasn’t ready and maybe we could take a walk into town. That was fine with us but it was done, sadly, in an unwelcoming manner

I was assured a refund when I contacted them about canceling the second night of our stay (7 days before). The refund was denied - they didn’t even give a partial refund. Very bad business practice.

The room was very clean and warm. Toiletries, bath robes and slippers provided (although slippers a little on the large size for me, just being a size 2) !! Staff very efficient and friendly. Breakfast very nice and served to order lovely and hot. Dinner was also delicious. Coffee/tea was served in lounge following dinner in front of a lovely roaring log fire. Overall highly recommend this excellent hotel and will definitely return in the future.

Wonderful hotel in scenic Pitlochry. Our room was delightful and the bed was soooo comfortable. The breakfast room was beautiful. The sitting room off of the lobby was so warm and cozy with the fireplace burning. Great location. Breakfasts are all cooked to ordered. Excellent food but slow. We loved Pitlochary and hope to come back.

Had a wonderful stay. Staff were super friendly and you felt they genuinely wanted to make your stay special. The location was super with fantastic views from the balcony. Booked 1 evening meal in the restaurant but wished we’d booked 2. Would definitely stay there again.

Perched on a hill in town, the hotel was a 8-10 minute walk to the shops and a quiet refuge from the busy Main Street. We were in the modern annex with a terrace. Bed a bit small for two tall people, but comfortable. The Main House lounge was a very comfy place to read in the late afternoon; best of all - the outstanding dinner. Compliments to the chef! Do stay for dinner!

Nice hotel conveniently located. Breakfast was lovely. Nights got warm even with windows open and a fan. As an American from the south, AC during the summer months is a must and it’s difficult to rest and sleep without it. I swear I filtered hotels when booking our vacation for those WITH AC, but 2 of the 4 didn’t have room specific AC. Ugh.

Had a great stay here, all of the staff were super pleasant, efficient and well trained. Room and en suite toilet was very clean, as were all of the public areas. The breakfast - all options tried - was excellent, and I really appreciated the whisky porridge. Highly recommend the evening dining as well, couldn't fault anything.
