The Langtry Hotel

This hotel is in a great spot the double room was cozy. There is a lift which I really need as I cannot do stairs.

Average place to stay. Very convenient location: close to the pier, beaches, and shopping. Only Six parking spots & stupid wall with low bollards make it even more of challenge to park. Stayed in Room #18 on top floor facing west. 3 nights in Early April 2025. Negatives: Parking is limited to six spots with aforementioned obstacles that ultimately caused me to brush up against a bollard while maneuvering to the center position whilst two large vans occupied the end most spots. Wi-Fi was intermittently working. Sink is literally furthest away from the shower & toilet room. Wonky shower controls are reversed. Water pressure at shower was like a kitchen sink sprayer very weak! Mis-matched toilet from the 1960's Tan with a white plastic tank used an enormous amount of water to flush. Towels were too big. Lastly, the room had the whimsical 1800's style door lock, you know the kind that you can peep through. Which means you need the key to lock it from the inside. That's really a major safety hazard in a event of a fire, I recommend leaving the key in there. These are illegal in the U.S. for all the right reasons. Positives: Check-in was easy. Location. Elevator makes it easy to bring your luggage to the top floor. West view sunset. Free parking (but see above). USB power was provided. Clean & Quiet.

Although ‘refurbishments’ were ongoing - I had no parking space - despite booking. No one at desk to check-in - found ‘Simon’ - (I think that was his name, apologies if incorrect), eating his evening meal in the ‘due to be refurbished’ main hall. He was polite and helpful. Room - bedding clean, en-suite clean - however tired and noisy,(cistern very loud when refilling, and prolonged). Obvious repairs and improvements were made, however, toilet and basin were ‘peach 70’s’ and would have been 100% better if replaced with new white models. Overall - cheap for the one night stay. I would stay again, and whole heartedly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a bed for the night - NO RESTAURANT, NO BREAKFAST, NO MINI-BAR, VERY LIMITED ON SITE PARKING.

The staff were friendly, but the rooms were very poor and in need of updating. The cleanliness was poor in the rooms. The lounge bar is closed and no longer owned by the hotel. This is not stated in the website

Great location just few steps from pier beach night life pubs restaurants and shops, east access, free parking at the hotel or next door parking (paid only £12 for 24h) will definitely visit again.

Not a bad hotel, parking is very tight but at least there is parking. Bar and restaurant mentioned in the description was not open. Bathroom facilities were pretty poor, water trickled out of the shower and the cold basin tap. All in all a good hotel if your just wanting a place to lay your head for a couple of nights I will use again but with lower expectations.

Very disappointed, cobwebs around window wallpaper all scuffed and badly damaged, skirting by bed full of dust, shower room all mish-mash and shower leaking no mat was supplied bad health and safety could of slipped on wet floor had to use a towel to soak up water. Corridor was not inviting very bad uneven floors and decorating very bad. Would not recommend nor stay there again.

Easy WiFi connection, bed was clean and comfy, room very clean spacious, easy parking, the staff offered me use of the lift as I use a walker which was a huge help, met two staff members and both were lovely friendly gentleman 😊

Excellent value for money. Literally across the road from the pier. Pubs and cafes 3 mins walk. Room basic although clean with tea facilities and toiletries. Would definitely book again for the convenience and price. Thank you

Nice little hotel very near the pier and other attractions. Staff were nice and friendly and the room was very clean with everything you would need for a short stay. I would definitely stay here again.

Comfy bed and clean and had a good rest. Easy to find and in good location. Needs updating and refurb. But other than that a good stay over.

Rooms are very small and bathroom unmanageable . Super small bathroom , no hair dryer , only one towel , one roll of toilet paper , no cafe even though it’s there , the place was being renovated and very dusty in the main lobby , restaurant always closed , parking is very hard to park and only first come first serve . I would def not stay here again

Nice building, nice staff. The only negative thing was a minor niggle. The person in the next room came back late and every time he moved around the floorboards in my room made a loud noise. I wouldn't normally mind but it was in the early hours and was very annoying.

Very out dated holes in the ceiling carpets dirty shower was very low pressure bed was very uncomfortable pillows were thin needed 4 to get comfortable the tv was the smallest I’ve ever seen not the best for the money a little bit more you could go in Travelodge or premier inn Location was good for town that’s about it

Where to start. Free parking - 7 bays only NO bar or lounge as advertised. Dated room decor shabby with marks and peeling wallpaper. Marked headboard. Shower only dribbles. Even cups dont match. Oh and a bedside lap that apart from lampshade that was broken couldnt be plugged in as no socket available

Very nice welcome from the staff, staff assisted with helping with my case up to my room. Easy access to rooms via a lift. Shower not very good as not very much water pressure. Room very big and spacious. Very comfortable bed I very slept well. Shame there wasn't any breakfast served. But overall a very good one night stay, thank you

Absolutely terrible so bad we checked out early ☹️☹️ we checked in on Monday afternoon the guy behind the desk had no interest at all, hoping to get a drink in the bar that is advertised after a long drive…. Well there is no bar (Expedia really need to update this) anyway we walked up the creaky stairs along the dirty old carpet to our room, well what can I say….. it resembled an old office room which somebody had left a bed in. We couldn’t open the window to let some air in as the wind was making the old polystyrene ceiling tiles (which I’m sure are a fire risk) start to flap and bang about and worried they were going to fall down we had to shut the window. This was a double room for the 2 of us we had 1 towel on the bed the bathroom, if you can call it that, I know it’s a privilege to have a private bathroom, but I have more room in my wardrobe at home. The bed is like trying to sleep on a block of wood, it was so uncomfortable, at one point I contemplated laying on the floor, but that was so dirty I couldn’t. And then there is the noise people in and out all through the night, I really think that the hotel is being used as a homeless shelter (which is great if they are) but they need to choose one or the other, barely got any sleep due to comings and goings and the noise from people which I presume is there “designated smoking area” right out the front of the hotel sitting on the wall. The room we had the lamp didn’t work either. Worse place o have possibly ever booked.

Close to seafront. Good value in today's economic climate. Nice size clean room and quiet. Helpfully friendly staff.

Good hot water..Shower,sink,toilet,fresh white towels.Tv,kettle and tray of tea bags coffee, milk and sugar.big double bed even though im single occupant ,quiet hotel,very very close to beach,pier,restaurants,shops.Have stayed here many times before.. Could do with a lick of paint but it stillticks all the boxes

Good parking otherwise a downtrodden and noisey hotel . Every single floorboard creaks loudly . 2 doors down is a hostel where most residents stand outside all day smoking dope .

Nice and fuss free check-in and check-out. The hotel is a stones throw from the sea front and has free parking (always a bonus) and there are plenty of amenities close by. The room was of a good standard and matched the reasonable price that it cost. There is plenty of nightlife and a great seaside pier, and whilst you can hear a lot of the activity that goes on outside, I personally did not find it a problem at all, if anything it was the seagulls who made the most noise. The only minor issue I encountered in the room was that I would have liked a more fast flowing shower, but it was not a huge issue and the water was nice and warm. I would definitely return to this hotel if I re-visit the area.

The staff are very friendly the breakfast was enjoyable and Alison the cook made us feel very welcome. Will come back

Bathroom was tiny. Sink right in front of toilet, so banged head trying to use toilet paper. Evening staff grumpy. Breakfast amazing excellent for the price with bubbly friendly service from Alison who was very smily and helpful.

This hotel is passable as a 2 Star Rating as it was no thrills and very basic with the room being small with a small tv, the en-suite was very small with no cold water only lukewarm or hot running water in the sink and shower! Only stayed one night thankfully, the hotel also state in there information that they serve breakfast but on arrival I was informed there was no breakfast served when I asked!

Excellent price, good location just a couple of mins from the pier and beach. Room was clean and fresh. Bed was comfortable. Tea/coffee facilities great. Shower and toilet was super tiny but clean and with some free toiletries. It was noisy at night as we were close to other bars, but nothing you can’t sleep through. Unfortunately I could also hear the room next door snoring away. We were tired so we slept through but not sure if light sleepers would manage. Bonus was parking in front of hotel which was free. There’s also a car park opposite which looked very busy so we’re glad we didn’t have to use it! We didn’t try but there was also breakfast and the hotel had a bar.

I put no blame on Langtry Hotel for my stay being spoiled as the manager done all he could to be helpful. Hotels.com are responsible for failing to check what they advertised for this accommodation I paid for a stay in a hotel that was supposed to have breakfast available if required and use of bar facilities, this had neither and I am very angry with hotels,com for not providing the correct information on what my hotel offered ! I wish to make a formal complaint to hotels.com
