Great location for Stansted Airport as well as That Amazing Place wedding venue. It is worth noting that ge rooms are not air conditioned and can be very hot in July and August. There is no lift. The WiFi is free but is too slow to use.

Parking was good. The hotel receptionist was lovely and welcoming. However, our toilet flush was broken on arrival which my husband (being a handyman) managed to fix and also the sink tap was loose at the base and leaning over which made it difficult to use. The bed was lovely and comfy but breakfast was far too early for a Sunday morning. Should have been 8 til 10 instead of 7 til 9. Having been to a xmas party the night before sadly we did not make it!

Parking was good. The hotel receptionist was lovely and welcoming. Fantastic. Easy free parking. Lovely rooms. Super pub next door. The only downside is the room has no air conditioning and radiator heating. It was -1 degrees outside and the room was still hot with the radiators turned off. No fan in the room.

A very busy kitchen so some food seemed a little dry might have waited a little for serving and some a little cool. Staff did a good job. Service quick enough. Wi-Fi poor - need to go through logon process very frequently. Room servicing a little erratic. Room lighting was a joke.

Second time of staying here and the room wasn't as good this time. There were bits on the carpet, the sink smelt when used of drainage and the shower head sprayed everywhere other than it should. Think more maintenance is required. The staff are excellent though.

The room was in a lovely condition and well decorated. However, the excessive heating made sleeping very difficult- a truly uncomfortable night….no AC or ability to properly open a window. Such a shame as ruined what would have been a lovely stay. No coffee machine at breakfast. Overall, food was ok but not worth the price-tag.

The whole hotel rooms have recently been refurbished and are very comfortable, very quiet and tastefully decorated. The pub is in a separate building to the rooms, just about 10 m away and it is also beautifully decorated.

Normally give this a five……but the wifi badly needs to be fixed. Please tell the management team. It’s so bad, we won’t be coming back unless and until it’s fixed. Staff are lovely, nice room, good pub/food. But no broadband is not acceptable in this day and age.

We had a lovely time here. Pub is so lovely and the hotel is comfortable and clean. All staff are attentive and so polite. Nothing is too much bother. The only thing I will say is the wi-fi signal in the hotel which is to the rear of the pub in a separate building is really bad. They maybe could do with a booster box to get better signal. Once in the pub it’s perfect. Also the phone signal isn’t great either, but that’s not the hotels fault. We had a lovely comfortable stay. Thanks guys. Also big thanks to the lady on reception Saturday evening who gave me a plaster for a blister that had popped on my toe. Thank you very much ! From Carla and Ken room 12 xx

I have stayed here a few times and this time i had the worst room ever had. I heard this constant humming which i found out afterwards was due to the room backing onto the plant room, so hardly slept. This room is not fit to let out or improve sound proofing. The last 2 times here haven't been great so will be looking for somewhere else.

i would have love to have given 5 stars and would have if it wasn't for the constant droning noise outside the window all night. mentioned it to a member of staff they seamed aware of it. food was reasonably priced so was the drink. room was lovley with big comfortable bed. the bath/shower was a bit strange. coffin shaped , wouldn't like to have had big feet. will ask for shower only next time as i think we will go back but in a different room. pub is very characterful. breakfast was good value as well.

Lovely stay would recommend except the porter decide to bang on the bedroom door 3 times in the night. My partner just thought it was kids and ignored it. Until the 3rd bang on the door he opened it and was t very happy to find the porter saying can you keep the noise down we were fast asleep worse night sleep. I would suggest the porter puts his ear against the door before banging on doors waking people up. Should have just drove home.

For me, pretty much the best place to stay in Harlow, and I've tried most. Hotel accommodation is excellent, modern and clean. Eaten here twice, food is good. Service on the first occasion was decidedly poor, with staff more interested in preparing for breakfast than attending to customers. However, Amy saved the day on the second visit, with prompt and attentive service, and a smile or two.

I have stayed here a few times, but had a couple of issues this time. First off my room didn't have a fan and the windows hardly open so are a waste of time, even though my colleague had a fan in his room and I had a fan last stay. The receptionist did get me a fan the following morning but surely these should already be in every room! Also asked for my invoice on day before checkout but apparently couldn't get it, so then i was told it would be printed for following morning but the night porter couldn't find this and apparently cant print invoices so still waiting following various messages, etc! Food nice and staff are pleasant.

Location, accommodation and condition are all very good, but it was the staff that made this stay excellent. Emily on particular was extremely helpful in resolving a booking issue and the staff in the restaurant were pleasant, efficient and very helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

From the minute I arrived the staff were great in the hotel area Jo’s team were amazing.the room was lovely and cleaned well. The food and staff at the pub were good too. Recommend as great place to stay.

The Green Man Hotel is an ideal place to stay near Harlow. The restaurant is very good, with good choice and great staff. We did have a small problem with breakfast the next day where they were understaffed. We order breakfast as part of our room rate, however, we did not get seen for over 20 mins and had to go. Requested a refund for the breakfast, which after some discussion, was agreed. We will definitely stay again, but may not request breakfast.

Lovely hotel. Very clean and comfortable. Just. We stayed the night before a flight. Just a 13 minutes drive to Stansted airport. Perfect. Will stay again! We are in the pub too which was also very night. Food was a bit expensive but those prices seem to be the norm now (around £17 per meal)

Amazing welcome (to stay overnight) - really friendly. Rooms were great, enjoyed the food on a busy evening (Thursday!), and had a drink in the bar. Stayed before a Stansted Airport trip - it's only about 15 mins away (and much much nicer than a mundane airport hotel!)

This place is like an upmarket Premier Inn. The hotel rooms are separate to the pub. The room I stayed in was a good size, clean with a very comfy bed and quality bedding. The pub and restaurant is a very nice building which is very historic with timber frame. Bar is cosy and the restaurant well staffed with good service. In the past I have stayed at the airport and paid the prices!! In future when using Stansted I will not hesitate to stay here again.

Would definitely stay here again. Everyone was so friendly and the hotel was nice and quiet. Ideally located for everything around with everything in easy reach.

The room was in a lovely condition and well decorated. However, the excessive heating made sleeping very difficult- a truly uncomfortable night….no AC or ability to properly open a window. Such a shame as ruined what would have been a lovely stay. No coffee machine at breakfast. Overall, food was ok but not worth the price-tag.

Very good experience. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The room clean, comfortable and well appointed. Bar / restaurant were very good too.

Good hotel in pretty area. Comfortable rooms and friendly welcome from receptionist. The room was clean with nice touches eg mini chocolate bars. Lots of parking . Only criticism about the room was that there was no milk for the tea. We had breakfast which was average, warmed up breakfast not cooked fresh, not many staff so hsd to wait. Coffee machine didn’t work but the pastries were delicious.

Hotel and room was lovely didn’t have any extra pillows when we asked and we paid for breakfast and the first morning it was lovely full cooked breakfast and tables all laid out but when we went down for breakfast on Christmas Day and Boxing Day no cooked breakfast very poor continental not worth putting out no tables laid has to ask hue serviettes would have been nice to have them laid up for Christmas morning and they didn’t even tell us but apparently no cooked breakfast on Christmas Day and Boxing Day very poor service staff was rude when asked for anything

This hotel room was one of the nicest we stayed in! It was so comfortably set up, the staff was very kind and welcoming when we arrived, and the restaurant/bar on site was delicious! We stayed while awaiting a trip out of Stansted Airport and would definitely return.

After a brutal day of traveling in from Canada, delayed flights, missed connections and hours of transit commutes around london, I ended up at this lovely spot. I couldn't have asked for a better ending after a day of hell. The pub is adorable, food amazing, staff incredibly helpful and friendly, and the room spacious, clean and cozy. I would hands down recommend it and will be making it a staple in future travels. Thank you!

The room was nice and clean hotel staff very friendly The room was a bit on the warm side though but no controls to adjust temperature, But we wish we didn’t bother with the breakfast as it was cold and the staff were very rude not a great way to end our stay

This hotel is a little gem, the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and comftable, the bed was huge. Food in the inn is hot, filling and reasonably priced. Stayed 2 nights and would definately stay again.

The Green Man Hotel is an ideal place to stay near Harlow. The restaurant is very good, with good choice and great staff. We did have a small problem with breakfast the next day where they were understaffed. We order breakfast as part of our room rate, however, we did not get seen for over 20 mins and had to go. Requested a refund for the breakfast, which after some discussion, was agreed. We will definitely stay again, but may not request breakfast.

We were directed by friendly staff to Room 220 - I thought this was just the room number but on opening the door it was obviously also the temperature. It was literally like walking into an oven. There was a small fan which was faulty but I managed to repair it. Overall a nice hotel in a nice area with plenty of parking. I think air conditioning is something they need to consider

Staff helpful as usual. Room well appointed. Room on second floor quite hot, fan provided but still warm. Large shower head needs descaling as jets pointing in all directions and leakage from top.

Staff were a little sullen at reception. A smile helps. Room was great as always. All amenities needed. Bed comfortable with great pillows. Quiet and good nights sleep. Wish we hadn’t paid for breakfast - hot food served buffet style on ban Marie which did not keep it hot at all. Toaster took an age to gently brown the bread. Hot water for tea is served from coffee machine which makes it look scummy & not hot enough. Staff were disinterested. There is a lovely cafe around the corner from the hotel which is much better. Parking can be an issue if the hotel is busy but there is a multi storey car park not too far away.
