We had a one night stay as we was visiting Norwich. We have stayed before and found the hotel very nice. We did'nt book breakfast on this stay as we feel breakfast does let them down in this area. We did use the bar area on arrival for a couple of drinks before going back to our room to get ready for our evening out. We love the old look bar which resembles a pub. It could do with being staffed more

We stayed for the 1 night only (Thursday) and arrived by bus because the carpark charge online looked to expensive. Whilst we were upgraded on arrival toi a newly decorated level 1 - in room 109. A Gorgeous quiet and warm room with a settee and chairs. When walking to the Norwich Cathedral next door we saw a beautiful old Bentley car parked out front which is one of three classic cars own by the hotel. We got a complimentary tour all around the City with the driver as guide. Fabulous thanks Maids Head for a truly memorable stay in Storm Benjamin!

We loved our stay here. It’s a beautiful hotel with attentive staff. The breakfast options were varied and well done. Parking on site at a reasonable rate was also a bonus. We will be visiting again.

Great little hotel with bucket loads of history, good price and with the added rarity of a city-centre hotel with parking. Breakfast was also excellent. We will definitely return for future Norwich shopping trips!

The staff were friendly, efficient and the accommodation was clean, centrally located and convenient. It wasn't clear that parking was an extra cost and it was limited. As this is marketed as a dog friendly hotel it would be helpful to know in advance that outside of the room and the courtyard, you are not allowed stop anywhere else in the hotel with your dog. We were asked to move on twice before being told that the courtyard was the only place other than your room that you could stop with your dog. Whilst we completely understand that some areas need to be dog free, it was disappointing that this was not made clear when booking or on arrival. Otherwise a lovely hotel and nice staff.

Booked for a long weekend away. Very welcoming, friendly staff from the moment of check-in right through to checking out. Hotel location is ideal, being about 200 metres from Norwich Cathedral (Anglican) and making the town centre easy walking distance. The buffet breakfast was extensive and tasty. A complimentary 40 minute tour of the city in a vintage Bentley (weekends only) added to the whole experience.

The hotel is perfectly located for visiting Norwich city centre. It is smart and comfortable but one or two basics only available as additional extras such as a bathrobe and parking. It was an extra £10 per robe on top of the cost of an Executive Double room and a discounted rate of £8 per night to use the hotel car park. It may be just us but when looking for a hotel with a car park and a hotel highlights there are car parking facilities we don’t expect to be charged. If you are driving an electric car you would be able to offset the fees by charging your car using one of the two charging points, this is free for hotel guests. Overall we enjoyed our stay and despite the hidden extras we would stay here again.

I stay often in Norwich and there are some really excellent hotel options. I stayed here because of the excellent reviews but it didn’t live up to the hype. The room was reasonable but a bit dated. But worse was the general grubbyness of the room. Net curtains where grey and stained and round the windows was positively dirty. I’ll stick to the other options in town. Disappointing…

The room had previous guest clothes left in the wardrobe, we got supplied 1 towel which was very old and worn , the room Was dusty and very tired , the bedding had stains of coffee on and generally cleaning was poor , we did inform reception who said “ohhh we will get that sorted before next guest stay “ I was very disappointed

Lovely building and well placed in the town centre . Noticed stairs were dirty in places and cutlery not clean. Other than that the rooms were comfortable and nice . The noise was mainly from The neighbouring pubs . All in all a pleasant stay

Good location for access to the City, room had not been cleaned properly, cobwebs on the bed side lamp and thick layer of dust on one of the shelves, room was also very cold on arrival. Room itself was average and in my opinion expensive compared to other places i have stayed

Very small room , the room was close to the extraction fan outlet for the kitchen that was noisy from the early hours of the morning and throughout the day / evening. Staff polite , hotel condition was generally good however there was a flood near the breakfast room that was being fixed during breakfast . Fire alarm did go off a twice but only for short periods

The establishment was aged yet well refurbished. The staffs were professional, welcoming, and polite. The dining hall was said to be from the 14th century, yet it has been renovated to be classy and did not feel aged at all. Furthermore, the property is located right next to the Cathedral and Elm Hill, making easy visits around the city (although the entire city is very walkable). Unfortunately, the room I stayed at in the hotel had one of the most uncomfortable beds I had ever experienced. The mattress seems to be of innerspring and completely collapsed on either side to the point where on several occasions I would almost fell off from the bed. Everything else in the room was satisfactory, and we also had a decent breakfast. However the poor experience from the flawed mattress impacting my rest cannot justify the otherwise satisfactory experience.

Fantastic experience at the Maid's Head Hotel. We arrived at 1pm to drop off a bag and the receptionist allowed us to check in early and showed us to the room. The room was beautiful, filled with beams and a view of the cathedral. Drink at the bar was very nice. Buffet breakfast was the best we have had, local produce and cooked very well. Service throughout our stay was superb

Room 218 is much too hot to stay in. The outside temperature was 21 degrees during our stay so not hot but the room was like a sauna. The portable air-con unit (even when filled with ice) blew out hot air and windows didn't open for any air. When we complained the hotel was full so we couldn't be moved but the man who spoke to us from reception put the phone down on us (yes, we were annoyed when speaking to him but not rude or disrespectful in anyway). We have seen various reviews online that say the same as us so this room should not be sold if it is this hot. (I dread to think what it's like when its 30degrees outside!!!) We were unable to relax in the room at all and got no sleep. The noise from the pub across the road was ridiculous too. People staying in this room should be informed that the noise is that bad, I know it's a city centre but never before have we stayed in a city centre hotel with such bad noise. The heat and noise combination meant we got about 1 hours sleep. We were given a 50% refund on check out but still resentful as it completely ruined our weekend (my husband had a big cycling event the next day which he needed to be well rested for but obviously wasn't).

It’s certainly old, but really needs an upgrade. Windows don’t open, room too warm and limited ability to control this. It should be clearer that they have no lifts, and multiple levels. It was okay but we wouldn’t stay again.

We’ve stayed at the Maids Head several times. It’s a great hotel, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is always great - lots of gluten free options. Gluten free toast is always provided. Choice of GF cereals, cooked breakfast was all clearly marked and our server was aware of which items were gf. Room was lovely and clean. There was a wedding there on our last stay, and the bar ran out of wine and the barman was not having a great time - he was clearly under pressure and not in the best mood. It didn’t spoil our stay.

Lovely staff, professional & extremely helpful going the extra mile, location was great as was the hotel overall. Lots of lounge areas and lovely food. The only 2 thing's I’d score down on were the hospitality knocking twice from 10 am until 11.30 both days, even though we had do not disturb on the door and requested a mid day checkout. I realise the building is very old but the smell of sewer was evident in every part of the building especially the toilets, & even in the restaurant. There was actually water running down the wall where we were sitting which we bought to the staffs attention and there was a maintenance man there within 10 minutes. Despite this I would book again if I visit Norwich.
Lovely staff, professional & extremely helpful going the extra mile, location was great as was the hotel overall. Lots of lounge areas and lovely food. Fantastic experience at the Maid's Head Hotel. We arrived at 1pm to drop off a bag and the receptionist allowed us to check in early and showed us to the room. The room was beautiful, filled with beams and a view of the cathedral. Drink at the bar was very nice. Buffet breakfast was the best we have had, local produce and cooked very well. Service throughout our stay was superb

I have stayed here a few times and this stay was the best. The only let down was the young staff at breakfast, their colleague was run-off her feet. Im not too sure but i think new car parking charges are starting which would have a bearing on whether i stayed again?

The hotel was well located, clean, comfortable and has good parking. Breakfast was really good and the food in the restaurant was very good as well. However, the service in the bar was poor as was the service in the restaurant in the evening. Very long wait between courses and very noisy. The restaurant was not very busy so no excuse and the manager was not helpful. He told us that he acknowledge that there was a problem but didn’t apologise or take any action about the loud table. He did chase up the very late food and then having done this thought it okay to add a service charge to the bill. Not impressed.

Our room was very cold. We called reception and they said we'd need to wait 2 hours for it to warm up, which it didn't...and by then it was too late to ask someone to fix it. We also ordered room service and there were bits missing from our order. A member of staff also walked into the room before check out time while we were in the bathroom. The hotel is very nice but I found the experience to be somewhat lacking.

After booking our stay for our anniversary I enquired with the booking team to see if I could drop our luggage off early to try and keep it as a surprise for my wife. They were amazingly accommodating and even moved the bag to the room before our arrival later in the evening. On arrival we found out that we had been upgraded, an amazing surprise that made our stay even more special. We found our room with towel swans, rose petals and a hand written card from the team. Such lovely touches! The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. There is a little wear and tear if you look closer but it really doesn't detract from the character of the room or property overall. The bathroom is spacious with a lovely rainfall shower, his & hers sinks although it does get steamy as there is no extraction fan. For a single night stay it couldn't have been better and the team at the hotel always go above and beyond to make sure your stay is as amazing as you hope it will be. Checkout was simple, dropping the room key into a box on the counter, when asked our room number we were told we had a overnight parking charge despite not having a vehicle with us but on explanation this was quickly waved. We couldn't be happier with our experience and would happily stay again if we wanted to stay centrally in Norwich!!

This hotel was an excellent choice due to its prime location next to the Anglican Cathedral, with a Wetherspoons 110yds down the road, shops 10 mins walk and station 15. The rooms were of a very high standard and house-keeping take a pride in ensuring customer excellence in the way it responds to needs.

The Maid's Head Hotel is well located in the city centre. All the staff I spoke with were very attentive, friendly, and helpful. My room was decorated well and clean, with modern amenities and extras like a minifridge and bottled water. Wifi was strong. The water pressure is good with plenty of hot water. I didn't originally book breakfast at the hotel, but the next morning I decided to eat at the hotel and I am glad I did. There were plenty of options for a hot breakfast, as well as, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, and pasteries for a reasonable price.

Beautiful hotel in a perfect position in the city centre. Very friendly staff and nice breakfast. Ate in the restaurant too and the meal was excellent. Will definitely stay again .

My husband brought us here for my birthday and we stayed for one night. All the staff were very friendly and efficient. Our twin room was clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. We had an evening meal here and the meals were exceptionally good. Breakfast was very good too. We would definitely book to stay again.

The hotel is lovely. The rooms are very good and the heating system is simple to use.the staff are all lovely. Breakfast could be improved. The cooked breakfast is buffet style and the products they use seem great quality but as it’s all in warming trays, it’s actually cold or lukewarm at best. Thus hotel would be perfect if the breakfast was cooked for you rather than dive buffet style.

A super hotel next to the cathedral with onsite parking. We were uped to to Junior suite with four poster bed, which was enormous. The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. Dinner from the Rosette menu was excellent and the breakfast super as well. Staff were first class all round. An ideal location for exploring Norwich city centre, alas we didn't have time to book a ride in the vintage Bentley or borrow one of the bikes, but will return when in Norwich again.
