We were very impressed with the hotel, obviously recently renovated to a high standard en suite was brand new. Only negative we had was our room (12) was above the bar room no was noisy quite late so made getting to sleep difficult. Would definitely stay again but ask for a higher floor. Loved the room with a sea view

Friendly welcome at the bright and well decorated reception. Our room was on the third floor and the lift only reaches the second floor but that wasn’t a problem. Our room was bright, clean and had a great sea view. It was small but had everything we needed. We were here for the cricket. The result of the match could have been better but the location was pretty perfect.

The hotel appears to have had a recent revamp, and all aspects are modern and spotlessly clean. The bedrooms are adequate without being spacious, with ensuite shower rooms, many with sea views overlooking the quieter but more scenic north bay, ranging from the castle ruins to the sea life centre. The hotel's private parking is being resurfaced at present, so parking is on nearby streets with permits available from reception at £5.00. Breakfast in the modern dining room was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Hotel itself is well positioned and you can see it’s been recently modernised and is very clean. However, the advertised parking included was not the case. It’s under renovation and no word of this is given on the booking or the following emails that came to my inbox after confirmation. We had to pay for street parking which had the hotel’s parking garage been full, I would have paid. We were expected to pay even without the advertised garage, which was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. The other issue was the smell. Hotel is beautiful, and clearly been refurbished recently. Our room looked very hi spec and the beds are comfortable - it was great to have a separate bedroom for the kids. However - our family room was on the third floor, with no lift. If we had known this we would not have booked. Trying to get a three year old and a ten month old up three steep flights of stairs, with all associated luggage l, buggy etc was not fun. Parking was also not clear - we drove around for a while looking for the hotel car park, or the on street parking as advertised but everywhere was restricted. We called several times whilst driving around to ask for instructions but no answer. It was only when we parked in a restricted zone out of desperation and ran into the hotel reception to ask for help did we discover that they had ‘disc’ parking cards for us to use. The room, while very nice and well decorated obviously had been designed with style over common sense - the entryway and the second bedroom with the bunk beds were cavernous with a lot of empty space - but the bathroom was absolutely tiny, with no surface space to put anything. For four people this was difficult! The sink was so small it was difficult to get the kettle under the tap to fill up! Why on earth they would leave metres of space in the bedroom and entry hall empty instead of building a bigger bathroom is beyond me. We would stay again - but only if guaranteed a ground floor room!

First of all would like to say that the hotel is spotless, with a lovely bar and modern dining room. The staff are very helpful and friendly in fact we were upgraded to a sea view which was stunning. We parked in the free car park which is a rarity these days. However the size of our bedroom let it down. There was barely room to squeeze past the bed to get to the toilet for the person near the window. This is a big deal for elderly guests who need to access the toilet during the night. Younger guests may not find this a problem. In spite of this we would definitely re- visit this lovely hotel, just being a bit more selective about the type of room.

I had a lovely stay. The room was at the back so no sea views for me this time hence not 5* but very nicely decorated, very clean and comfortable with very nice ensuite bathroom. The staff are all lovely and welcoming making sure everyone is ok. There is a bar on the ground floor with seating area looking out onto the seafront. Thank you!

Friendly staff and helpful with local information. I will stay at this hotel again. There is limited free parking, but permit street parking is available in front of the hotel for a small fee for 24hr. I managed to get a spot right in front, so I didn’t mind paying for the permit.

Staff fantastic. Small hiccup with payment due to new computer system. 3 floors, lift only goes to 2 floors so if you have mobility issue, let them know when you book. Car park is very tight- not the best. If you have a larger vehicle don’t expect to safely park up.

Lovely location, however attention to detail not so good, lovely sea view, but dirty windows, dirty window sills, and dirty bathroom cabinet. No iron or ironing board available without having to go back to reception to ask for one, I didn't do this so not sure if they would provide one. But for a 4 star hotel I would expect that in the room. Very small bathroom and shower and if you are on the larger size the shower is an issue.

An excellent stay, great location overlooking the North Bay, but a short walk via the church to the South Bay. A lovely clean, bright and recently decorated hotel. Friendly and efficient staff and an excellent, well cooked breakfast. We would definitely return.

I paid £190 for one night in what I thought would be a superior suite. This didn't include breakfast. I was shown a ground floor room with a view of the bins. Managed to change to a sea view on the third floor. Elevator only goes to floor 2 so stairs up another floor. My room was nice but there wasn't a chair to sit on. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was smalll but nice. No complaints really, but I think I paid too much for this room.

I can't comment on breakfast as we didn't have any. The room was very clean and comfortable with the most amazing view of the sea. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The only negative was that the en-suite bathroom was very small. That said everything was in good condition and the shower was really good.

There was barely room to squeeze past the bed to get to the toilet for the person near the window. This is a big deal for elderly guests who need to access the toilet during the night. Younger guests may not find this a problem. In spite of this we would definitely re- visit this lovely hotel, just being a bit more selective about the type of room.

It was ok. I stayed for 1 night. The bathroom smelt of sewage and the room was small. If it wasn't for the little bonus of the smart TV so I could watch Netflix and Disney+ I would have put a wide review. Nice fan as well.

I had a lovely stay. The room was at the back so no sea views for me this time hence not 5* but very nicely decorated, very clean and comfortable with very nice ensuite bathroom. The staff are all lovely and welcoming making sure everyone is ok. There is a bar on the ground floor with seating area looking out onto the seafront. Thank you!

Great property, the manager was super helpful showing us where to park, even let us check in early as the room was ready, hotel looked very fresh and clean, room looked freshly decorated and newly carpeted, great room very spacious and plenty of hot drinks to use and biscuits when we arrived, shower was great really powerful and hot, will definitely return in the future!!

I booked a double seaview room 6 months in advance, to arrive and be told they had overbooked. Initially they said I could have an upgrade and showed us to a suite, which was beautiful. Within 10 minutes the staff knocked to say they needed to move us to a different room but it was still an upgrade. We were shown to a tiny, ground floor room with a view onto what I can only describe as a building site. Half built fencing with black backing hanging off, bare dirt,ld this was unacceptable and not an upgrade, I was told it was, in fact, an upgrade because it was called an "executive room" (strangely not listed on the website as a room type). It was, in reality, a significant downgrade. When pressed for at least a partial refund, it was insisted that because it was "technically an upgrade" they couldn't offer any refund. As a result we cancelled the booking as £135 for one night in a stuffy box room with no view is an absolute rip off. We also missed our dinner booking because of the hour it took to be moved around and dealt with the staff. I also arranged in advance to have a spot in the carpark as I'm a blue badge holder. At the time I was told there should be space, but there's plenty of parking on the street and would be able to park directly in front of the hotel if not. I contacted them on the day to ask where the car park is and they wouldn't tell me, saying to find somewhere on the street and that "Availability can be hit and miss, but there is usually a space available."

Hotel is beautiful, and clearly been refurbished recently. Our room looked very hi spec and the beds are comfortable - it was great to have a separate bedroom for the kids. However - our family room was on the third floor, with no lift. If we had known this we would not have booked. Trying to get a three year old and a ten month old up three steep flights of stairs, with all associated luggage l, buggy etc was not fun. Parking was also not clear - we drove around for a while looking for the hotel car park, or the on street parking as advertised but everywhere was restricted. We called several times whilst driving around to ask for instructions but no answer. It was only when we parked in a restricted zone out of desperation and ran into the hotel reception to ask for help did we discover that they had ‘disc’ parking cards for us to use. The room, while very nice and well decorated obviously had been designed with style over common sense - the entryway and the second bedroom with the bunk beds were cavernous with a lot of empty space - but the bathroom was absolutely tiny, with no surface space to put anything. For four people this was difficult! The sink was so small it was difficult to get the kettle under the tap to fill up! Why on earth they would leave metres of space in the bedroom and entry hall empty instead of building a bigger bathroom is beyond me. We would stay again - but only if guaranteed a ground floor room!

We stopped in the first floor sea view room for one night. I managed to park outside the hotel early in the morning and went to reception to see where the hotel car park was. I was given brief instructions where it was. I could not find a parking space and was disappointed the reception never made me aware I could purchase a parking card for the street. This caused me to pay £16 to park at the NCP carpark until the following day. The room was clean and comfortable. The sea and coastal view was excellent. I didn't have breakfast. I thought £15 a head was excessive. The location is good for walking to the south or north side and the town centre.

The hotel appears to have had a recent revamp, and all aspects are modern and spotlessly clean. The bedrooms are adequate without being spacious, with ensuite shower rooms, many with sea views overlooking the quieter but more scenic north bay, ranging from the castle ruins to the sea life centre. The hotel's private parking is being resurfaced at present, so parking is on nearby streets with permits available from reception at £5.00. Breakfast in the modern dining room was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a very pleasant stay.

The gentleman at reception could not have been more helpful. A credit to the hotel. Breakfast choice was good. View wonderful. Only downside was as no outside door handle meant the "make up room" sign fell down and landed on "do not disturb" side and so room was not made up.

We had a stay in a seaview inter connecting room with my daughter and grandchildren. The room was absolutely fabulous. Newly decorated, beautiful clean fluffy carpets, great beds and a to die for sea view. Breakfast was lovely and had lots of choices even for gluten free. We used the bar too. Was fabulous I wouldn't hesitate to return we had a fabulous stay thank.

Cooked breakfast appalling. All items dried up, lukewarm or burnt. Refused to eat so serving staff got the chef to prepare a fresh plate for me. Bacon pasty and lukewarm as was the sausage. Baked beans tepid. The only item veering towards hot were the poached eggs! Why oh why do so any establishments have a buffet style breakfast with lamps shining on the food that have zero effect in keeping it piping hot. Ditch this and offer cooked to order.

The hotel was beautifully maintained, modern interiors with a bar area you will love to relax in, whilst looking out over the east coast. The single bed was very comfortable and the bathroom very clean, great size with a fab shower. My only frustration was the size of the single room. Whilst it was advertised as ‘snug’ or ‘cozy’ (can’t remember) it was possibly the smallest I’ve stayed in. Even the main door was catching against the wall, it was that tight. I could touch the console table from the bed that was at the opposite side of the room. I paid £107 single occupancy, room only, for that room and I would say that was very overpriced for the room. I would stay at the hotel again, but never in the ‘cosy’ single.
