The hotel was rather quiet and under-used but as there was substantial renovation going on with the gym and spa/pool facilities this was understandable. The hotel staff were among the friendliest I've come across in a long time, nothing was too much for them in making our stay comfortable and enjoyable. My wife and I were seriously impressed.

The Spa and swimming pool are shut for refurbishment. Was not mentioned on Hotels.com. The restaurant was shut to patrons due to private function. Not mentioned on Hotels.com. Pretty well disgusted with the fact that this is not mentioned on the website.

Overall good property but definitely needs a major renovation as a lot of the fixtures and fittings are outdated. Pleased to discover that the EV chargers were free of charge! Breakfast was 10/10.

Pretty much perfection for an overnight stay. Easy check in with a wonderful executive room which provided more than enough space to do some admin work. The lady on reception opened up the gym area for me to work out and the staff could not be nicer. To get cleaned up, there was an amazing power shower. The large comfy bed afforded a great night's sleep and this was compounded by a fantastic breakfast, made to order, which arrived in double quick time but everything was cooked perfectly and got the day off to the best start. They also provide free EV charging for hotel guests.

Very pleasant stay. Very large, recently refurbished (I think) room. Shower pressure was a bit low and there could do with more (non-electric) parking spaces. Disappointing that the spa/swimming pool was closed - this wasn’t made clear at the time of booking.

Unfortunately I chose this hotel in part due to the advertised spa and did not notice the smallprint mentioning (despite publicizing how good the spar was) that the spa was closed for renovation. Otherwise I had a good stay.

Lovely large twin room. Pool was out of commission which was very disappointing as one of the main reasons we book this hotel. Had to park at the back of hotel which was a bit scary as no lighting and we were two single females. Bar shut early and the breakfast finished early. Room was clean and was a nice large room. Sadly we will not book this hotel again.

Quick stop before the ferry, it was cheap but not very nice. Had to wait to check in as computer did not work with my booking, room smelled funky and splatter on headboard was quite “interesting”. I guess it is what it is, book cheap and don’t expect a miracle.

Lovely clean huge room beds very comfortable modern room all usual facilities.staff very kind and helpful. Quiet hotel even though a lot of people staying there.able to have dinner there which was nice and reasonable for a hotel breakfast was buffet from full English to toast and cereals and danish pastries .first time for me to stay at a best western hotel , it won’t be the last,

This was just about the worst hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. Terrible damp smell, no working heating, stains on the towels, leaking shower, loose toilet seat, extra bed not made up despite knowing it would be needed, creaky bed frames, terrible decor condition, towel rail falling off the wall, and other things. I would never stay here again.

Staff were all very nice. Food was cheap and my draft cider tasted weird (not nice). Room coukd have been better cleaned. Hairs in bath, crumbs on floor and all dated. Loads of parking.

Breakfast was good, but no oranges, no fish, and no porridge options. Room was very nice, but, windows looked like they hadn't been cleaned for months, years even - could hardly see out of them. Seemed very understaffed. Same person was doing reception, barmaid, waitress duties - LONG wait for food at dinner. Gardens looked like no maintenance for many months.

On arrival very friendly helpful staff who made sure we had an adequate room for our needs. The room didn’t have air conditioning was therefore very hot and stuffy. The bed was very uncomfortable and the bedding needs to be replaced with new bedding.the windows unfortunately were stuck. The bathroom was overall clean except for the black mold around the bath also no extractor fan in bathroom. See photos

Avoid. This hotel is terrible. Whilst the staff try their best, the hotel is under renovation. ( March 24h So , there is no bar to enjoy a drink. The room was clean , but the secondary glazing means you struggle to open a window to let clean air in. When you do open it , it’s noisy. They really do need mvhr in there. Then, finally when you get into bed , it was the cheapest mattress I have ever tried to sleep on. I honestly could feel every spring which caused me pain it was so bad. At one point if the night , I considered sleeping in my car. This was room 207 for the hotel staff to verify the poor quality of the mattress. A simple mattress topper would perhaps have made it bearable. I don’t know who owns this hotel , but ignore the Best Western badge ( it’s not worthy of it ) plus ignore the AA 4 stat sign as you walk in. This hotel is clearly owned by someone who is all about saving money and making a profit. I will not stay here again.

Hotel was ok on the whole although it clearly is in need of updating. Breakfast was nice, lovely pastries. Room was adequate but mattress was a bit lumpy. However, the worst was the lack of air conditioning as the heat in the room made sleeping very difficult.

The hotel is in need of an upgrade both with the room decor and bathroom fittings. The overall appearance is tired and shabby, and the room was very cold. No central heating but we were given a fan heater! Very noisy and no temperature control, so an unpleasant heat. Although there is a caution warning about the hot water, it is instantly scalding and the hot and cold taps are the opposite way round to normal, so beware. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable and the bedding clean

Great for getting into Ipswich but the room was stifling. No aircon meant the room was super hot. The bed was tiny and the shower was rubbish so small I had to stand sideways in the bath . The staff we met were really nice but yeah the rooms need an upgrade.

We stayed in a family room with 1 double bed and 2 singles, which was the size of two rbedooms with a bathroom in the middle between. The room itself was quite spacious but warm. Lovely in the winter I'd guess but not so much in the summer! The beds weren't the most comfortable but were okay. The service in the hotel was the main perk, all the staff we met were lovely and helpful. The bar prices weren't at all bad either!

The check in was the start of the experience, self check in was far from a good start. Its bad enough self service in a supermarket, this is a hotel. The room was clean and recently refurbished to a good standard. I went down for dinner, and staff wise it seemed like the mary celeste. Eventually i was served, the drinks for a hotel were reasonably priced and tasted good. The food menu is limited and far from what I expect from a hotel restaurant, but it did suffice. Unfortunately my evening dragged out to around midnight due to the people in the next room being less than considerate. But the noise did eventually subdue. The breakfast in the morning was buffet style and to be fair it was good. I stayed here a couple of years ago and returned because it had been good. I seriously doubt if I'll be returning anytime soon. It was a very mixed experience unfortunately the bad out weights the good

“The hotel is undergoing refurbishment” says the sign on the door to reception - don’t worry, it’ll look great when it’s finished.” Clearly in need of the above, the hotel is extremely tired looking throughout, particularly around the back where we had to park as there was no spaces in the main car park. I booked this room for my parents (both in their 70’s) as they were spending the weekend with us. When they checked into their room, it was extremely warm with no air conditioning, just a fan and a threadbare in parts carpet. The bathroom was equally tired and the sink top heavily stained. The TV in their room did not work and although they were told someone would come to help, they didn’t. I emailed the hotel staff the next day, disappointed by hearing the above, and was also promised someone would get back to me - nearly a week later, that’s not happened. Regardless of what any refurbishment work might change at the hotel, there appears to be some more urgent work that just needs to be done in basic customer service skills.
“The hotel is undergoing refurbishment” says the sign on the door to reception - don’t worry, it’ll look great when it’s finished.” Clearly in need of the above, the hotel is extremely tired looking throughout, particularly around the back where we had to park as there was no spaces in the main car park. I booked this room for my parents (both in their 70’s) as they were spending the weekend with us. When they checked into their room, it was extremely warm with no air conditioning, just a fan and a threadbare in parts carpet. The bathroom was equally tired and the sink top heavily stained. The TV in their room did not work and although they were told someone would come to help, they didn’t. I emailed the hotel staff the next day, disappointed by hearing the above, and was also promised someone would get back to me - nearly a week later, that’s not happened. This hotel had very comfortable rooms, the staff were very pleasant and helpful, the restaurant menu was slightly limited but the breakfast was very good, particularly the table service breakfast the first day when the hotel wasn’t so busy. Overall good value for money.

Bedroom was above the sauna area and was just as hot. As a result, even the bathroom floor was very warm! Paid extra for breakfast. Went down in the morning and was told I’m not on the list. Didn’t want to argue so I left and checked out. Once I’m in the car set to leave they follow me out and say I can come back to eat. Never ever staying here again and avoid Best Western Group in future.

Staff were all very nice. Food was cheap and my draft cider tasted weird (not nice). Room coukd have been better cleaned. Hairs in bath, crumbs on floor and all dated. Loads of parking.

Breakfast was good, but no oranges, no fish, and no porridge options. Room was very nice, but, windows looked like they hadn't been cleaned for months, years even - could hardly see out of them. Seemed very understaffed. Same person was doing reception, barmaid, waitress duties - LONG wait for food at dinner. Gardens looked like no maintenance for many months.

Excellent beds and luxurious executive room. Receptionist/Bar lady was brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. Nice breakfast . All in all good value. Please take extra care exiting the car park. We followed another car out not realising that we were going the wrong way on a dual carriageway . Luckily it was a quiet Sunday morning and mistake quickly resolved.

Awful place. Barely any staff covering reception, bar, dining room. Staff were however doing their best. Requested ground floor room and didn’t get it. Room was so hot it was unbearable and windows could barely be opened. Very sad overgrown beer garden. Dark and drab inside the hotel that could do with a really good clean. Pool and spa were closed which was main treason for booking here. Hotel agreed refund as we checked out after 1 of 4 nights (made sure I had written proof). Hotels.com service has been abhorrent.

Rural hotel in the middle of nowhere. Staff was helpful. Room vas spacious and relatively modern. Hotel needs lot of work to modernise but i could see they slowly work on it. Bit disappointed with the bar and restaurant area and service. Bar was closed and when opened only some beverages were available. Menu printed and laminated paper is not was i would expect at 4star hotel. Menu was poor as well so ended up eating out. Bed was comfortable. Overall ok but bot what i would expect from 4 star hotel

Needs refurbishing, very dated. Windows need replacing as you can’t open them to get fresh air, also the secondary glazing was full of condensation in the mornings. The whole hotel smelt of cigarette smoke. On the plus side it was in a convenient place for our travels.

Good for the price and comfortable. A bit too far out of the way for a night out in town. The smell of sewage hit us as we walked into the reception. It was extremely hot in all corridors which made me feel nauseous. Would consider staying there again only as a quick find/cheap last resort

A spa hotel with no spa / pool.....not as advertised on hotels.com. But a note on the door saying it'll be really nice in the future! after you've booked and paid. also nothing in the area, you'll need to drive to go anywhere. really run down hotel, not a 4 star.. its a 2 at best and i had the executive room! the whole place smells funky and a bit sticky...

Was a bit further out from ipswich town but used the car to park at park and ride was a bit put out having to use a credit card for drinks at the bar as no cash could be taken . Room was spacious and comfortable and breakfast was good although we had breakfast at 9.30 the first morning and hardly any cooked left.

Best Westerns tend to be older properties with some character thrown in. This is at the side of a main road which is noisy with traffic. Gym facilities listed are old and outdated. Never got to see the leisure facilities (not even sure they’re open). Shame really as I’ve not had disappointing experiences with this hotel chain before.

The check in was the start of the experience, self check in was far from a good start. Its bad enough self service in a supermarket, this is a hotel. The room was clean and recently refurbished to a good standard. I went down for dinner, and staff wise it seemed like the mary celeste. Eventually i was served, the drinks for a hotel were reasonably priced and tasted good. The food menu is limited and far from what I expect from a hotel restaurant, but it did suffice. Unfortunately my evening dragged out to around midnight due to the people in the next room being less than considerate. But the noise did eventually subdue. The breakfast in the morning was buffet style and to be fair it was good. I stayed here a couple of years ago and returned because it had been good. I seriously doubt if I'll be returning anytime soon. It was a very mixed experience unfortunately the bad out weights the good

Overall good property but definitely needs a major renovation as a lot of the fixtures and fittings are outdated. Pleased to discover that the EV chargers were free of charge! Breakfast was 10/10.

All aspects of the hotel were very good only spoilt by other loud guests in the restaurant using profanity and inappropriate language. We’ve stayed a number of times in the past and always had a good experience. Food is good and staff friendly.

We had to move rooms as the first had loads of dead bugs on the window seat cushions. There was a thick layer of dust everywhere. We moved rooms but that was no better. I ended up cleaning it with a wet towel. The carpets had stains on them. They counters in the bathroom were faded and stained. The corridors were extremely dusty. The flashing smoke alarm on the ceiling was very annoying at night

My stay was an awesome experience! The service from the staff was very welcoming, attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was first class, and very generous portions! The rooms were a very good size and clean, which made for a comfortable night's sleep. A great place to stay, and will stay again!

The room was very hot on arrival and one of the two was completely painted closed - and the fan provided merely pushed hot air around the room. And the flashing light on the sprinkler system was extremely bright and not conducive to sleeping. On the plus side breakfast was good.

This is a no frills comfortable easily accessibly hotel. It is clean , tidy and rooms are comfortable . Staff were very welcoming and helpful, although it was fairly obvious were short on numbers this visit. Good pub style menu for restaurant and breakfast choice was good . This is an overnight stay with good value for money.
