Two night stay in a junior suite, we loved the room. Very well equipped and had Molton Brown toiletries in the bathroom. Spa was excellent, great treatments (quite expensive) lovely compact gym and pool. Just missing a jacuzzi! Had drinks and lunch in the bar/lounge was fine, good service from the bar man. Delicious breakfast with lots of choice and served till 1030am.Over all a great stay , great friendly staff a special mention to Edward the front of house porter/reception guy. A few minor details overlooked , no coffee or toilet restocked for the second day in room. Rock salt on the tables which is impossible to grind between fingers , no pepper. When I asked for S&P I was told this was it?! Strange, would definitely return and recommend. Hopefully my comments will help improve the finer details

Quiet rooms , lovely grounds. It is a large hotel with lots of stairs and long corridors so be careful what room you are booked into if you have mobility issues

Wonderful stay. Beautiful hotel with lovely rooms we stayed in the manor double which was gorgeous and a very good size. Slightly limited breakfast options given the price. Spa is lovely, however we went during half term and had to wait about an hour to get in as it got quite busy. Otherwise nice spa facilities, great gym and stunning grounds. Very accessible to Stratford upon Avon city centre and a nice a quiet place away.

What a beautiful place to stay, old school service, fabulous gardens. Huge gorgeous room, lots of nooks and crannies to get lost in. Some feedback not a complaint - spa needs a jacuzzi esp outside to take in the views and changing rooms need to be regularly cleaned of excess water

Friendly staff throughout, loved the pool and sauna, spacious and clean room with a view of the fountain and good choice of vegan options on the dinner menu. Food was very tasty and well presented. Didn’t opt for breakfast as early start.

Excellent customer service - organising a dog-friendly room. Dog enjoyed the treats. Lovely atmosphere in the bar in the evening. Very comfortable room - exceptionally clean and a good size. Fluffy white towels provided. Plenty of car parking. Would have been nice to have had a coffee machine in the room, real fruit juice at breakfast and hot coffee at breakfast (it was rather luke warm). That said, breakfast was very good. The grounds were beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed a walk from the hotel premises. Bar prices were reasonable and room recommendations about what to do and the history of the manor, we enjoyed reading. Stunning hotel with small things to correct.

Beautiful building with a fascinating history. As an older guest I found the rabbit warren of corridors and endless staircases stressful. We were actually given a room at the very end of a corridor on the third floor( there is no lift). Happily the hotel changed that for us and so we enjoyed our stay. My advice is if you have any mobility problems you should let the hotel know on booking a room!! It’s a lovely hotel in a lovely setting and the staff are excellent. Our dinner was very enjoyable and all things considered, I would thoroughly recommend a stay here. It’s really close to Stratford with all its delights.

Great service,staff were very attentive and friendly. Bedroom was very spacious and the molton brown toiletries were an added bonus. The swimming pool was really nice and clean . Food and dinner and breakfast was very good . Drinks were quite expensive but was expected for the hotel. Beautiful grounds. Will be back

Room 45 was bad. Blind didn’t work. Standard lamp also not working. No subtitles on tv for hearing deficient people. Poor. Moved to another room. Much better. Plates and bowls at breakfast were dirty. Not jus one or two but several.

Beautiful historic building with an abundance of character and charm. Looked a little tired in parts. We stayed in a feature room with four poster bed. We arrived later than planned at 23:20, although we had made the staff aware of this at the time of booking and on the day of arrival - whilst being shown to the room, my husband asked the barman (we had to pass the bar on route to the bedroom) if he could order a drink and the barman informed him that the bar had just closed! The bathroom was spacious although there were cobwebs around the window furnishings. It can happen in and old property, however, we also found a suit carrier in the wardrobe which had been left by a previous guest. There is a lot to like about the hotel and the lovely setting, however, the breakfast really does let this hotel down. The overall standard of catering was inadequate. The hot food wasn't hot and looked unappealing. Sadly, we failed to enjoy the 'dining indulgence' the hotel claims to offer. Little details such as pepper pots were nowhere to be seen. When we asked for pepper, the pot brought to us was empty. We then had to take this to the server and ask for another one. Odd cups that didn't match! General attention to detail, lack of visible leadership and disappointing breakfast - we brought this to the attention of the Reception staff upon check-out and then followed up with an email complaint and telephone call....no response to date, hence this review.

Stayed for two nights for family wedding (at another location). Manor House and gardens are beautiful. Room was large and bed comfy. Good breakfast in lovely panelled room Falls down on cleanliness (dusty in places) and generally needs a refresh /lick of paint/ new carpet in public heavy used areas.

In our room we found a dirty sock covered in literally coats of filthy grey dust , my bed side table top had a sticky fruit drink ( the presumably) circle in it. Waiting to be served a drink or meal took literally forever and I had a large black hair on a buffet breakfast fried egg in case I was still hungry .. the breakfast plates were all gone so we asked for some and the lady brought them holding with a towel .. she needed to because they were literally dangerously hot .. I actually burnt my fingers and dropped the plate .. she then said oh yeas , they’re red hot , you need to hold them with a cloth …pretty awful all around to ge honest .. we’re VERY unhappy and will never stay again … we will advice others in our circle not to as well to save them from our experience…

Just returned from 60th Birthday celebration here. We stayed in the Manor House suite for 3 nights. Stunning building, beautiful grounds, well kept . Quiet room,comfy bed, room needs a deep clean. Nice pool, well kept entrance & changing rooms,excellent massage. Staff were disorganised and not at all attentive, dirty crockery lying around a common theme. Cooked b'fast plentiful and averagely good. Cold buffet woeful, poor quality fruit salad on 1 day, none at all on other days. We had dinner in the restaurant on my B'day The bread rolls were not a good start, poor quality. Starters were dull, in particular the mackerel which was a tiny single mini fillet. Mains were average & plates were cold… v disappointing. It would have been nice to see a B’day gesture of some kind & although there was a card in our room, not 1 member of staff acknowledged my B'day the entire stay, no glass of bubbly, flowers in the room, cake with a candle or icing on the plate...nothing...it really doesn't take or cost much to make someone feel special. This hotel could be so much better...most of the improvements needed would be so easy to achieve with better management. What is worse is I could have easily cut and pasted one of the other negative reviews that almost mirror our own experience. Your responses are always similar, you are sorry & will learn from the 'touch points', but this doesn't seem to be the case as nothing has improved as a result of those reviews, shame.

Didn’t stand up to its call of standard in a deluxe room with dust and cobwebs on the walls, bathroom skirting boards and pile of dust behind bathroom mirror lights. Also no replenish of water the next day and first use of kettle had old water in it. There is a need for more attention to detail in each room to be worth the price.

Great welcome by the staff member at reception after 11pm. I had run out of phone battery & missed a train from London and was concerned no one would be available to check me in but instead the helpful young man even sorted out a glass of wine & some crisps for me & brought them to me even though the bar was closed. So kind, showed me to my room aswell as I was concerned it might be out of the way and in the basement & was going to upgrade if so. I needn’t have worried, clean and spacious and nicely decorated room, modern bathroom with strong shower & lovely molton brown products. Water in fridge. Air con actually worked and didn’t keep me awake. Only improvement could be nespresso or filter coffee rather than instant sachet.

Our stay at Billesley Manor for 2 nights at the end of July was lovely. The staff were great, so friendly and helpful and really seemed to go the extra mile to show an interest in their guests. The room was lovely, although being a listed building our room had no air con and was extremely warm, I couldn't use a hairdryer in the room as it was too hot, but it was a lovely room so you can look past that. The grounds are beautiful! We did not have time to try the spa.
Our stay at Billesley Manor for 2 nights at the end of July was lovely. The staff were great, so friendly and helpful and really seemed to go the extra mile to show an interest in their guests. Great 2 night stay. Easy check in, but once we entered our room we here a continuous humming which we felt was being caused by the spa/pool machinery. However, the reception had no hesitation in moving us to a quieter room. The issue was very well handled without delay. Restaurant and other facilities were great, would certainly return for another stay.

The whole hotel gives a welcoming feeling. The room we book was beautiful, overlooking the gardens. The bed was so large you could get lost in it. I loved the quirky library, bar and lounge areas just to sit and relax. I i would highly recommend

Second visit to this particular hotel, convenient location for visiting Stratford upon Avon. Previously stayed in a barn room which was spacious & quiet, this time stayed in the cosy double in the main hotel. The room was small & quirky but big enough for a short stay for two, however the room can be quite noisy with a close proximity to the kitchen & stairwell to the other rooms. Room was lovely and big. Bathroom also amazing. Gardens beautiful and the chapel/church eerie but steeped in history. Evening meal was a let down but was sorted out by the lovely Chris. Breakfast very satisfying, plenty of everything to satisfy all pallets. Overall an amazing 1 night stay.

Great location, friendly staff. Breakfast was good quality and restaurant in the evening was good standard, unfortunately not the greatest sleeping experience. Stay in room 50, both nights experienced a repetitive banging noise around 1'oclock in the morning, lasted around 15 to 20 minutes. Assuming it was to do with the generator near the property.

Great service,staff were very attentive and friendly. Bedroom was very spacious and the molton brown toiletries were an added bonus. The swimming pool was really nice and clean . Food and dinner and breakfast was very good . Drinks were quite expensive but was expected for the hotel. Beautiful grounds. Will be back

We arrived at the hotel and from the outside it was lovely but once walking around the grounds was very disappointed, broken tables and poorly kept grounds. The hotel corridors were dirty and very dated. The room was an ok size, bathroom had recently been renovated which was nice but the bathrobes were extremely worn and in need of being replaced. The view from our room was non existent as it looked out onto an extremely noisy air con system which made sleeping very difficult. The restaurant was nice, some music for atmosphere would make it a lot better. The food was great but the service was at times lax with having to ask for cutlery and napkins several times then again a long wait and asking a second time for the wine which we had reordered. The breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Overall I would have been a lot happier having paid half the price of what we did. It needs a lot of work in places to make this hotel the grandeur it should have. I left feeling a little disappointed overall.

Great welcome by the staff member at reception after 11pm. I had run out of phone battery & missed a train from London and was concerned no one would be available to check me in but instead the helpful young man even sorted out a glass of wine & some crisps for me & brought them to me even though the bar was closed. So kind, showed me to my room aswell as I was concerned it might be out of the way and in the basement & was going to upgrade if so. I needn’t have worried, clean and spacious and nicely decorated room, modern bathroom with strong shower & lovely molton brown products. Water in fridge. Air con actually worked and didn’t keep me awake. Only improvement could be nespresso or filter coffee rather than instant sachet.

This hotel could be so much…..but lack of attention to detail are spoiling its potential. Asked for late checkout when checking in, was told they would get back to me…they didn’t Lots of exterior lighting was not working which meant that the gardens could have looked incredible but instead just looked good. Had to queue for breakfast and was left standing outside the breakfast room for 11 minutes. No apology offered. Lots of omissions at breakfast….no tea spoons, had to ask for plates, ketchup bowl empty, no sweetener available, very basic filter coffee. No guest information folder in the room. First time I’ve experienced that. Our room was up a very steep and narrow staircase and I think we should have been offered assistance with our bags. This was not a cheap stay, the hotel is a stunning building in a fabulous setting, the room was large and comfortable but all the greatness was let down.

We had a wonderful weekend here The hotel is beautiful with comfortable rooms full of character, lovely grounds and surrounding countryside. The food was excellent and Stratford-upon-Avon is just a short drive away.

Not the first time. My fav Hotel and SPA in England. Standards are very high and the price is still reasonable. The atmosphere is magical as always. Breakfast is great. I wish I could spend more nights. The location is perfect to visit north of Stratford-upon-Avon and north of Cotswold.

Spa is lovely, however we went during half term and had to wait about an hour to get in as it got quite busy. Otherwise nice spa facilities, great gym and stunning grounds. Very accessible to Stratford upon Avon city centre and a nice a quiet place away.

Beautiful building with a fascinating history. As an older guest I found the rabbit warren of corridors and endless staircases stressful. We were actually given a room at the very end of a corridor on the third floor( there is no lift). Happily the hotel changed that for us and so we enjoyed our stay. My advice is if you have any mobility problems you should let the hotel know on booking a room!! It’s a lovely hotel in a lovely setting and the staff are excellent. Our dinner was very enjoyable and all things considered, I would thoroughly recommend a stay here. It’s really close to Stratford with all its delights.

Beautiful historic building with an abundance of character and charm. Looked a little tired in parts. We stayed in a feature room with four poster bed. We arrived later than planned at 23:20, although we had made the staff aware of this at the time of booking and on the day of arrival - whilst being shown to the room, my husband asked the barman (we had to pass the bar on route to the bedroom) if he could order a drink and the barman informed him that the bar had just closed! The bathroom was spacious although there were cobwebs around the window furnishings. It can happen in and old property, however, we also found a suit carrier in the wardrobe which had been left by a previous guest. There is a lot to like about the hotel and the lovely setting, however, the breakfast really does let this hotel down. The overall standard of catering was inadequate. The hot food wasn't hot and looked unappealing. Sadly, we failed to enjoy the 'dining indulgence' the hotel claims to offer. Little details such as pepper pots were nowhere to be seen. When we asked for pepper, the pot brought to us was empty. We then had to take this to the server and ask for another one. Odd cups that didn't match! General attention to detail, lack of visible leadership and disappointing breakfast - we brought this to the attention of the Reception staff upon check-out and then followed up with an email complaint and telephone call....no response to date, hence this review.

We upgraded to stay in the main building as we wanted to use the spa facilities, the outer building rooms would have meant going outside which was not ideal. We had a lovely stay, the only disappointment was the speed of service in the restaurant, we waited a long time for the food to be served. But on saying that the food was good. we decided to eat in the bar area on the 2nd night and the food arrived very quickly. This is our 2nd trip to this hotel and we would return again. the Location to Stratford is excellent and beautiful setting. Each time the weather has not be good, so the spa facilities were ideal.

Attractive hotel, not dated or faded as some manor hotels can be. We were really appreciative of the smaller details and how the historic details of the building were accentuated and not hidden. Staff were lovely and happy to help, particularly a young gentleman who served us in the restaurant. Excellent, well priced meal and I can absolutely recommend the truffle risotto - divine. My only negative comment would be that the restaurant appears to be trying to be overly formal. It was very hushed even thought it was nearly full, there wasn’t much of an atmosphere, we felt we had to be quiet.

Accommodation beautiful, clean and spacious. Staff polite and well mannered. However I have to follow a gluten free diet and the food choice was woeful. One of the two items on the Bar Meal Menu listed as gluten free, when I checked wasn’t gluten free and the other one which I had to have was disappointing to say the least. We had to go out to make sure that I had gluten free options to eat in the evenings. But at least they had gluten free toast for breakfast. This rather spoilt our impression of the hotel

Hotel was well looked after,nice grounds & clean,staff friendly & attentive,breakfast was awful,the continental food items were covered in flies,over bowls of fruit,meats,cheese & pastries,we opted for cooked English breakfast but bacon was dry & couldn’t cut ,sausage & egg tasted awful,so we went elsewhere for our breakfast.The Stag just down the road,amazing & freshly cooked,cant believe a 4* Hotel could be this bad,even tea/coffee facilities were difficult & cramped to get to,

Admittedly, we booked late but the website said they had a king size room available. We paid a very top price for it and when we got to our room it had a double bed, a small desk and not much else. No bedside tables and the room was very small. We ate dinner in the restaurant - the staff were lovely and looked after us very well but we had to wait quite a long time for our food to arrive and when it did it was very average.... not worthy of its 4 star rating. Again the staff at breakfast were lovely but the food was again disappointing. Also of note, there was a wedding at the hotel with loud music playing and kids running around the garden which kind of ruined the quiet hotel setting we had looked for. Given the price we paid for our overnight stay we were thoroughly disappointed. It is a stunning looking hotel, the staff were all lovely and having stayed there before we and given the price we were paying , we expected much more.

Nice venue, convenient for our needs. Old building with many small narrow staircases which made access a bit challenging. Pool and spa were nice. Restaurant was okay, but a bit pricey for what it was. But we were a captive audience. Who wanted to go searching for somewhere else to eat?
