Great location, lots of food options for evening meals though the Stable area was packed both evenings we were there but still managed to find a couple of seats and food arrived quickly. Comfortable hotel and beds, friendly staff. Great location for walking. Helpful staff in the Tourist Information centre for local walk maps. Though there was lots of parking spaces, it was very busy in the evening which meant driving around a bit. Very good breakfasts. Would definitely go back.

Staff exceptional very nice and accommodating. Checking was not pleasant. Male staff did not make you feel welcome especially when asking about EV charging. Entrance to bedrooms was behind an odd door by reception. (No lift)

Lovely old building in the heart of a really lovely picturesque Welsh village. I had a superior double room facing out the front of the facing on tot he little river and park. There is a lively bar next door. It shuts up arounf 10.00-10.30pm though , so there is no night time noise to be worried about at night. Staff at reception were very welcoming and very informative. I passed this place on a trip about a month ago and vowed I would stay there sometime.....that sometime came sooner than I thought. It's a countryside hotel, it suits the locale.

Reception staff excellent. Rooms a bit dated but clean. General areas could do with a bit more cleaning to remove cobwebs. Good breakfast. Overall satisfied for a one night stay. Hotel primarily chosen for access to an EV charging point and location in the town

Everything was lovely and clean and staff we're very polite. The bedside light didn't work in room 109 so had to get out of bed to put the light on and off The bar unfortunately closed at 10pm and being sat outside we didn't hear last orders just before we were going to get our last drink for the night so had to walk uo the road to another pub thay was still open. Would definitely stay there again

We really enjoyed our stay here. Our room on the front of the hotel was spacious and well equipped with a pleasant view, albeit with a little road noise if the windows were open. Parking is conveniently just across the road or round the back. The breakfast menu had a wide choice and the cooked food was to a high standard. Whilst there are a number of restaurants and pubs in Betws, we ate in the hotel each evening partly for convenience, but mainly due to the range of food available and its quality. My wife and I were celebrating a milestone birthday and the hotel team nicely delivered a couple of treats that our daughter had pre-arranged. My marking down of the hotel's eco-friendliness was because the towels were changed each day.

Lovely hotel staff were absolutely fantastic, great service with a smile, so friendly. Lovely food. Rooms lovely and clean, only slight critisism would be the decor was slight tired in places and go do with a lick of paint however this did not affect our enjoyment of our stay

We had a very good stay at the Royal Oak Hotel. The staff were very professional and were very helpful. The room was adequate and clean. The breakfast was very good and had a nice selection to choose from the menu. The hotel is centralized and near to many attractions. Overall we had a wonderful stay and look forward to returning.

Stayed here for a couple of nights to climb Snowden. Very convenient location for that. The best thing about this hotel is the staff: all of them without exception were friendly and helpful. The accommodation was clean and warm. We had a room at the front, on a main road, but the double glazing was fantastic, and the room was quiet. this isn't a boutique hotel, but it really got the job done!

Great hotel with friendly staff. The restaurant severed high quality food. Location is good and Betws-Y-Coed is a great place to stay in. The hotel in places is a bit tired but kept very clean and tidy. Our room was beautiful. We stayed in the deluxe double room. Again slightly tired in places and shower could do with a new shower head, aside from that I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay.

Lovely corner room and very comfortable bed. Good quality furniture in the bedroom with loads of storage space. Food was lovely especially scrambled egg for breakfast. Perfectly placed for going to Snowdonia.

Somewhat disappointed. Rooms a little tired and in need of an update. Room extremely hot with a small noisy fan provided. No toiletries provided. Room very noisy at night as it overlooked outside bar/restaurant. The location of the hotel was good and the staff were friendly.

We stayed at the Royal Oak for the last three nights of a two week vacation. The bedroom pictures make the hotel look more upscale than it is. We were not in the main building but in rooms that go over and across the parking area. The cons- It was rather humid and stuffy but there were no fans and the windows did not open fully, which was uncomfortable. It was clean, but felt more like an American motel, not hotel, which was disappointing.We were in a room about the outdoor restaurant which was noisy and didn’t close until 10 pm. The pros- The restaurant was quite good, the staff was friendly, and they served delicious full breakfast. I had higher expectations of the Royal Oak, so overall I feel disappointed.

Perfect location with friendly and accommodating staff. The Grill Room restaurant offered a wide range of quality food options. Our room was large and comfortable with good amenities, however the bathroom is starting to feel dated and the shower weak, but plenty of hot water.

Overpriced and disappointing. I’d been looking forward to staying here for sometime. Strange layout for a period property, half old half Travelodge. I paid £170 for a club room which was dated and in hindsight just too much compared to other hotels. The shower was ancient and it didn’t work, no shower gel provided, no fridge. Dirty glasses in the bar. A real shame - swerve this one

I passed this place on a trip about a month ago and vowed I would stay there sometime.....that sometime came sooner than I thought. It's a countryside hotel, it suits the locale.

Stayed here for a couple of nights to climb Snowden. Very convenient location for that. The best thing about this hotel is the staff: all of them without exception were friendly and helpful. The accommodation was clean and warm. We had a room at the front, on a main road, but the double glazing was fantastic, and the room was quiet. this isn't a boutique hotel, but it really got the job done!

Great hotel with friendly staff. The restaurant severed high quality food. Location is good and Betws-Y-Coed is a great place to stay in. The hotel in places is a bit tired but kept very clean and tidy. Our room was beautiful. We stayed in the deluxe double room. Again slightly tired in places and shower could do with a new shower head, aside from that I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay.

A delightful hotel, at once both old-fashioned and modern. A very pleasant Reception and an excellent restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. Slept well in a very comfortable room - (although I would have liked one 'soft' pillow). And all in all the hotel was central to a very pleasant weekend.

Great location, lots of food options for evening meals though the Stable area was packed both evenings we were there but still managed to find a couple of seats and food arrived quickly. Comfortable hotel and beds, friendly staff. Great location for walking. Helpful staff in the Tourist Information centre for local walk maps. Though there was lots of parking spaces, it was very busy in the evening which meant driving around a bit. Very good breakfasts. Would definitely go back.

We had a very good stay at the Royal Oak Hotel. The staff were very professional and were very helpful. The room was adequate and clean. The breakfast was very good and had a nice selection to choose from the menu. The hotel is centralized and near to many attractions. Overall we had a wonderful stay and look forward to returning.

Overpriced superior room with a shower that I couldn't get to work and a sink that was blocked. Food in the restaurant was limited and breakfast choice for people who don't want a cooked meal was pretty limited. Restaurant trying to please all clients by offering a mix of everything other than normal food which is not spiced, full of lentils, noodles and vegan. Disappointed especially as it wasn't cheap.

We stayed in one of the Stable lodges in the annexe. It was ok adjacent to the main hotel. Breakfast was good but expensive. It is an ok place to stay.

The hotel has a lot of character and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. We had evening dinner which was disappointing. Breakfast was good but please provide muesli. We would certainly stay again but would probably sample a restaurant elsewhere for dinner if one were available.

We stayed at the Royal Oak for the last three nights of a two week vacation. The bedroom pictures make the hotel look more upscale than it is. We were not in the main building but in rooms that go over and across the parking area. The cons- It was rather humid and stuffy but there were no fans and the windows did not open fully, which was uncomfortable. It was clean, but felt more like an American motel, not hotel, which was disappointing.We were in a room about the outdoor restaurant which was noisy and didn’t close until 10 pm. The pros- The restaurant was quite good, the staff was friendly, and they served delicious full breakfast. I had higher expectations of the Royal Oak, so overall I feel disappointed.

It was a bonus to be able to use the pool at the sister hotel, the Waterloo. Breakfast was fabulous, served hot and on a hot plate.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Our room on the front of the hotel was spacious and well equipped with a pleasant view, albeit with a little road noise if the windows were open. Parking is conveniently just across the road or round the back. The breakfast menu had a wide choice and the cooked food was to a high standard. Whilst there are a number of restaurants and pubs in Betws, we ate in the hotel each evening partly for convenience, but mainly due to the range of food available and its quality. My wife and I were celebrating a milestone birthday and the hotel team nicely delivered a couple of treats that our daughter had pre-arranged. My marking down of the hotel's eco-friendliness was because the towels were changed each day.

Stayed in a twin lodge room. Overall the room was clean comfortable and well maintained. The hotel had a lovely restaurant and bar area and is well located in the town centre. I was disappointed with a few things however and expected more for the price of the hotel: The breakfast costs £15 and the portions are very small with a limited buffet option. The breakfast staff were not particularly welcoming and got the order wrong on both days we stayed. I recommend not paying for breakfast in advance to keep your options open. The single beds in our twin were very small. Narrower than a standard single and the mattress were not very supportive so I didn’t get a great nights sleep during my stay. Overall disappointed with my stay and think there are better value options available.
