Motel 6-Southgate, MI - Detroit

on the Hotel description said that had a pool and showed some pictures that in my honest opinion wasn't same Hotel, when i asked for the pool they said is out of service for a while. On description they offer breakfast, guess what? not breakfast, only tea or cofee. Hotel description needs to be updated

The staff is very friendly and my room was clean. I like that my cat was welcomed as well.

The staff was nice helpful Britney is a wonderful help. Only thing I was upset about is it didn't say online that the pool was not available I probably would have went somewhere else they should let us know before you rent a room there i should let us know their pool isn't available

For the very low price, can't complain. Room is renovated and clean. Best you can expect for the money. Only downside is the pavement in the parking lot. You need a lifted 4x4 to navigate safely through the very deep pot holes be careful!

When we first showed up, cleaning carts and used mops were out in the open with no custodial staff on the clock (they told us they already left and there were no 24 hour cleaning staff), and the trash tipper was full of garbage just sitting under the stairs. The original room we booked stunk and there was pubic hair in the tub, there was a piece of wood and hair on the bed sheets, and when we asked for new sheets, all the "fresh linens" had hair on them. We switched rooms and although at first glance it was a little better, there was something brown on the sheets, the toilet didn't work, and when we went to change the sheets, it was stuck to the mattress from some kind of dried secretions. There was a used condom and wrapper right outside the door and the swimming pool (which was already too small for a motel) was closed down and the gates were sealed off with torn garbage bags. When we tried to cancel, they said they'd keep all of our money so we were stuck. If you are on the bus line, the nearest bus line is roughly a 30 minute walk away. The one silver lining is the worker at the front desk tried to be helpful and she had pretty good customer service. Aside from her attempt to help, the stay was awful.

Love the care and attention detail. Pool really clean too.

Very noisy neighbors and barking dogs incessantly. Bathroom door would not shut. Parking lot had lots of large holes in need of repair.

Property being renovated. Stay was fine, but parking lot is horrible with potholes.

Outside pool very dirty would not recommend to swim in. Card keys to doors only work if you are pulling the door as you swip to be let in. The desk clerk referred to the building as ghetto and people dont clean up after their dogs. Dog waste container/trash over flowing both nights I was there. Long term tenants out at all hours of the night. Does have cable, clean mini fridge and no bed bugs.

The room had fleas it smelled like ammonia the air conditioning unit was missing. The beds are dirty and there was rat poop everywhere

After 15 minutes we started seeing roaches everywhere. Immediately checked out

The room was extremely dirty and discussting, smelled of strong urine, had to climb stairs after specifically asking for a 1st flooor room.

Outside of hotel looked a little run down.. The room was newly renovated. Great ammemties, had a large refrigerator! Air was ice cold, but the floors needed mopped and the shower wasn't the cleaniest i ran the shower and called it a day... the staff was really nice.

Our room was half decent. The beds were comfortable. The room was updated! The only complaint I have was our shower was kind of dirty! The bathroom door sticks. It was really hard to close it.. Overall, for the price can’t complain!

Check-in took a few minutes as the computer system gave the attendant some problems. They remained friendly throughout and apologized for any inconvenience. This is in a Motel 6 where they're remodeling a portion of it into small studio apartment type rooms that contain a small kitchenette. I stayed in a such a room and it had been recently remodeled. It was much nicer than I remember the Motel 6 being. My issue was with the shoddy cleaning, particularly the bathroom and floors. The front of the toilet had what looked like dried urine streaks in the front and my socks were filthy from walking around in the room long enough to inspect it. It also had a persistent smell of wet dog that I couldnt pinpoint where it was coming from. I wiped all the surfaces down and used air freshener room spray and fixed the issue on my own without talking to staff. I figure if they didnt clean it right the first time Ill just do it myself. Location is super convenient as there is a McD's, Arby's, Wendy's and Taco Bell surrounding the motel. Theres also a gas station/ convenience store across the street, and its only .25 miles to I-75.

Wifi dont work. Had to connect to the Macdonalds nearby.

Nicely remodeled. Had a little kitchenette. Was very impressed. Great job!

The TV did not work! I notified the Front Desk and she told me she "would try" to re-program it, I went to a New Year's Eve party, came back and the TV still did not work!! The "Night" Front Desk came over and got it to work. The Bathroom had not been swept, floor appeared dirty. Not worth the price I paid!!!!

The clock had convenient USB ports. In addition to the vanity wash sink, there was a deep bar sink, a two-burner stove, a microwave, a coffee pot, and toaster plus a full-sized fridge. I only needed the fridge. The bedside lighting was adequate for reading. The floor was not carpeted and had that new vinyl (easy to keep clean). There was an iron and an ironing board. The place for hanging clothing was adequate. The air conditioner/heating unit worked well. Were I to add anything it would be a small hair dryer.. My room was on the first floor in the back facing McDonalds. It wasn't too noisy. I will stay there again.

Husband and i were here a week no one asked if we needed anything such as towels new sheets toilet paper soap NOTHING

when we got there i park in front of the building to register and get my kye . then some was yelling at as telling as to move my car out of the way and i say hold on we are getting the kye from the front desk i say whats wrong with stop in the front get my kye the go to my room ??? she was drunk or had a few drinks . well when i went in she was the manager of the hotel . i said so whats wrong with as parking in the front like we do all the time in diferent hotels ??she ignore what said and she just left.i ask the other girls working there what happen she just move her head and say nothing i gies she didn't wanted het i trouble with her.

From the outside it didn't look special, but appearances can be deceptive. The staff when checking in were friendly and helpful, making checkin a breeze. The room I stayed in appeared to fairly recently upgraded. Everything was clean and tidy, and the bed was very comfortable. I would definitely rebook to stay here if in the area again.

This is my first review of in expedia and this is the worst hotel i have ever stayed in . They have kept a high school kid as thier staff who is not only rude but ignorant. The internet is out and the hotel room is horrible. i would rate this hotel a 0 star out of 10.

No internet. Front desk was no help whatsoever. Traffic noise from I-75 too much! No coffee and refrigerator in my handicapped room. Nice bathroom though! Much nicer than the room itself.

Room was ok, no coffee for the coffee in room, no shampoo for showering and shower never got warm enough to take a shower. When we got up in the morning seen what appeared to be a hooker outside our room.

The ground floor room was great however the bed was not real comfortable but I did like the dining facilities nearby.
