Hisoric building crammed with antiques and curios assembled by a previous owner over many years. Creaking staircases and corridors set one in mind of the 1950's. But the bedrooms are clean, modern and well-designed, the staff are super friendly, the pub is a lot of fun to be in, and the breakfast is very good. Plus the cathedral and school are on the doorstep...and free car parking is a boom.

Out of the ordinary inn with a full restaurant and pub, includes off-street parking. First-rate menu with a good wine list. The rooms are surprisingly large, clean, modern and comfortable with every square inch of wall space covered with 18th-19th Century art and bric-a-brac. My room had both a full bath tub and a separate walk-in shower. Friendly staff. Within easy walking distance of the Cathedral.

Enjoyed 4 nights at this Pub. Breakfasts are produced fresh and to your liking. Our room the Hamilton was quirky but huge and well appointed. 2 slight provisos. Parking was an issue, its very tight and they fill it to beyond capacity. On the up side they will back your car out for you, if you are unsure of doing it. Second proviso, was TV reception was not great. We often had poor reception for certain channels. Not a huge problem, since with WIFI we could make do.

Close to Cathedral. Quaint interesting pub with outdoor seating. Friendly staff. Good food. Lovely room with fridge, Dyson fan, iron and ironing board. Nice bathroom. Great shower and lovely tub, and lots of products. Special thanks to staff for being so helpful. Listed building so no lift.

Great location in the centre of town and 5 minute walk from the Cathedral and high Street. We had dinner and it was very good. The HSB beer is superb if you like that sort of thing and they also have a good selections of wine. Staff were very friendly. They have about 8 parking spaces so it can a bit tight. The rooms were comfortable with a coffee machine, tea and free water. This is a very old building with lots of memorabilia reflecting the historical contact the pub has with the town. Breakfast also good with a wide variety of dishes available.

Great service, ambience and location excellent. Very close to town centre with parking. Restaurant very good. Excellent breakfast. Recommend. (Although not noisy after closing time, rooms are above a busy pub/restaurant which might not suit everyone}.

Really great hotel. The staff were nice and the breakfast was good. Carpark was really handy although I'm not sure what we'd have done if we'd wanted to leave early since the spaces get blocked in at night by other cars. The pub is amazing with really cool decorations. Overall 10/10

The staff were lovely. The position of this hotel was excellent. Fresh milk and a beer were provided in the room fridge. The room was clean but one window catch was missing. The only real negative was the entranceway and stairs were very grubby. I was in a building across from the pub.

A historical unique gem of an Inn in Winchester. Very welcoming and accommodating staff. Clean and well appointed room. Delicious dinner at the pub/restaurant downstairs. No elevator but staff was helpful carrying luggage upstairs to our room. This was a perfect stopover stay prior to our cruise out of Southampton.

The hotel room (the Post Box) was very spacious with plenty of cupboard and drawer space for hanging and storing clothes. The bathroom was large with all the washing accessories provided. The breakfasts in the pub opposite were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for the serving staff. The only negative point I would mention is that the paintwork in the hotel room looked tired and could do with being freshened up. The hotel is in a very good location with easy access to all the attractions and the High Street restaurants, so no need to use car.

During my stay at the Wykeham Arms, I stayed in two different rooms since I decided to extend my visit by an extra night. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The La Boîte room is perfect for a solo traveller, while on my third night, I stayed in the Cannon double room, which was also perfect for travellers. Both rooms were exceptionally clean, modern, and comfortable. Whether it's for food, drinks, an overnight stay, or all of the above, the Wykeham would be my first choice. Thanks so much. Ciarán

Great old hotel, not really suitable if you have mobility problems. Lovely staff and breakfast. The only downfall is the room was very noisy due to a function on the same floor as our room and the pub downstairs.

Great location; staff very pleasant & helpful; rooms are small, & lots of stairs, but typical of old building; decent breakfast; really good house pie. No a/c, which was a problem as heat wave hit when we were there (early September); the two fans provided helped a lot.

We arrived 2 hours before check in, the staff couldn’t be more helpful getting our room ready while we enjoyed a drink in the fabulous bar. Our room was cathedral view, my wife particularly enjoyed the bath in our bedroom.

This is an absolute gem, and we will definately come back. Found the pub a couple a years ago by "accident", and decided to stay this time around. Lovely well maintained room, but also old quirky details, very comfortable bed and really quiet. Very nice location. Breakfast was good (maybe not great, but it's a small place).

We have visited this property a couple of times before booking a long weekend stay. I can not speak highly enough of the staff and the food! The room was clean and comfortable, the tiniest issue I had (it’s really small!) is that the bathroom door could not be closed and the fridge in the room would cone on periodically (which for a light sleeper can be a bit of an issue). However, these are really small things. The bed is comfortable and the room itself is just wonderfully cozy! Breakfast was part of the booking- and it’s worth it! The buffet selection is already pretty good, but the hot breakfast from the kitchen is amazing! (The food in general is worth the short walk out from the city centre). The staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment of checking in until we checked out. Just a wonderful stay! Thank you to everyone who works there!

Lovely stay. Very tight corridors, which wasn’t an issue for us but don’t take a suitcase! Lovely room, only complaint would be the bed was too hard and pillows too flat, but that’s always a personal preference. Staff were good, could improve their service by being slightly more attentive at breakfast. Would definitely go back, which should say more than anything else.

Myself and my husband stayed for one night for our anniversary. It’s a very quirky property, with a lively atmosphere, but cosy. Lots of interesting things to look at. Staff were great throughout and the room on arrival looked good. However as soon as I used the toilet roll the holder fell off, and the lack of hot water was a problem the following morning. This was disappointing as we had a roll top bath that I ran and water was tepid, too cold to get in. Followed by an attempt to have a shower that was the same temperature and I will say it was brief. My husband declined after, because the water was so cold. We mentioned this to a staff member after breakfast and apologised stating it was an old building. But no mention of any kind of refund. Which is disappointing as we paid about £140 for one nights stay, that was with a discount from my blue light. Our evening meal was good but at £45 we have the fillet steak a miss. I’m happy to pay more for a steak but that just seemed a little too much. We have an enjoyable stay but unlikely to return as not being able to wash properly is pleasant. And the fact that we were told that it’s an old building makes me question if this is an ongoing issue.
Myself and my husband stayed for one night for our anniversary. It’s a very quirky property, with a lively atmosphere, but cosy. Lots of interesting things to look at. Staff were great throughout and the room on arrival looked good. However as soon as I used the toilet roll the holder fell off, and the lack of hot water was a problem the following morning. This was disappointing as we had a roll top bath that I ran and water was tepid, too cold to get in. Followed by an attempt to have a shower that was the same temperature and I will say it was brief. My husband declined after, because the water was so cold. We mentioned this to a staff member after breakfast and apologised stating it was an old building. But no mention of any kind of refund. During my stay at the Wykeham Arms, I stayed in two different rooms since I decided to extend my visit by an extra night. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The La Boîte room is perfect for a solo traveller, while on my third night, I stayed in the Cannon double room, which was also perfect for travellers. Both rooms were exceptionally clean, modern, and comfortable. Whether it's for food, drinks, an overnight stay, or all of the above, the Wykeham would be my first choice. Thanks so much. Ciarán

Great service, ambience and location excellent. Very close to town centre with parking. Restaurant very good. Excellent breakfast. Recommend. (Although not noisy after closing time, rooms are above a busy pub/restaurant which might not suit everyone}.

Great location in the centre of town and 5 minute walk from the Cathedral and high Street. We had dinner and it was very good. The HSB beer is superb if you like that sort of thing and they also have a good selections of wine. Staff were very friendly. They have about 8 parking spaces so it can a bit tight. The rooms were comfortable with a coffee machine, tea and free water. This is a very old building with lots of memorabilia reflecting the historical contact the pub has with the town. Breakfast also good with a wide variety of dishes available.

A historical unique gem of an Inn in Winchester. Very welcoming and accommodating staff. Clean and well appointed room. Delicious dinner at the pub/restaurant downstairs. No elevator but staff was helpful carrying luggage upstairs to our room. This was a perfect stopover stay prior to our cruise out of Southampton.

The Wykeham is a historic pub with good food, excellent breakfast. They provide fresh milk in the room, Tpigs tea bags and a bottle of Fullers beer each night. Great location for the City centre and parking on site

A fantastic pub hotel in a historic part of the city. A great place to explore from. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfasts was delicious and the evening meal we had was too class. The Wyk pie is highly recommended! All in all a fantastic stay in a beautiful city.

We arrived at the hotel and were greeted with enthusiasm. Our room was beautiful with many features to make our stay very comfortable. There were tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge which had beer, milk and water in, all complimentary. This is an absolute gem, and we will definately come back. Found the pub a couple a years ago by "accident", and decided to stay this time around. Lovely well maintained room, but also old quirky details, very comfortable bed and really quiet. Very nice location. Breakfast was good (maybe not great, but it's a small place).

The building was very old with a lot of character. The room was clean and had a fridge. The room and en suite were on the smaller size due to the nature of the old building. The breakfast was excellent and the staff friendly. It is in a brilliant location on top of the Catherdral close with a small car park . Well worth a visit.
