Staff were wonderful, the hot tub of mineral water was superb, the pool a bit chilly but delightful. Their taco Tuesday is not to be missed. And the beach is gorgeous and clean, with nice lounging furniture. The only odd note is the parts of the property that are in a state of decay— a convention center, another pool and hot tub that are decommissioned.

The hotel is definitely a bit dated but it is clean and funky. The restaurant is absolutely fantastic (don’t miss Taco Tuesday!!) but every meal was yummy and good value! The beach is lovely and the hot spring spa pool is to die for— just be sure to check the schedule so you know when it is really hot from the refilling. The people who stayed here were also great and a fun vibe and the locals come to eat so you get a great mix of people. The staff was nice and friendly and they even have happy hour! They provide fresh spring water so you don’t have to buy it all the time!! Didn’t play pickleball here but the courts were new and in good shape— unfortunately they do charge you to play. Overall a really great place and value for the money!

Enjoyed our stay with a few exceptions… room located backed up to boat launch and tractor started at 6am every morning. Food choices limited and pricey. Bar tender spoke zero English. Hot tub was either 112 degrees or 90 bubbles never worked. No refrigerator or microwave in room. Bbq outside was $38 per day use. Freedom in surroundings fantastic.

We refused to stay and the management insists on keeping both nights charges. Wish I would've seen reviews like this before I booked with them

Staff was really nice and always so helpful. Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant was always so delicious! My husband asked if they can set a table up for our anniversary dinner to surprise me, and they did, they had the whole 3 course meal with a bottle of wine. They made it very special. Room was beautiful and clean. Bed was so comfortable. Pool was clean. Enjoyed every bit of it.

A rundown property. Food choices were very good, service was friendly. Location : beach front property. Our room 36 was old n parts of it dirty n dusty (hasn’t been cleaned properly ie. dusty on the overhead bed board, behind the desk was some small food scraps n dead insects, dust bunnies.) The washroom was old n needs updates. It was clean.

Extremely old and rundown. Filthy room. Zombies for employees. We expected less than perfect, but this was a new level of disappointment. Barstaff and waitstaff spent most of their time staring into computer screens. No customer service skills at all.The food was awful. There was no comfort to be had anywhere. The mattress had to be at least 20 years old and hard as cement. Bathroom was so small, miniature toilet and shower. No TV and no usable furniture. The grounds were so neglected, pool was unusable. It was rotted and missing thousands of tiles. It was so sad to see. It must have been beautiful at one time. There was no fishing available. It looked like a boat junk yard and no one would answer my question of when was the last time a boat was actually launched there. We planned to stay for 5 nights but left after 1 sleepless night and burned another day traveling to another location. We had been looking forward to visiting this resort for many years, but it was just to uncomfortable to stay.

Hidden gem 45 minutes from SJDC. Wonderful staff, nice clean rooms and linen, excellent restaurant!!! Try the Apple Tart, it's out of this world! If you are looking for rest and relaxation with beautiful sunrises and the Sea of Cortez at your back door this is the place. We will be back😀🤗

Power was out at the resort for 1/2 of a day. I understand things can happen, but this was highly inconvenient for my short stay there. Also, WiFi was terrible/non-existent (even when power was on). I later learned at checkout you can get a room wifi repeater. This was not mentioned during check-in. As a traveling working professional, stable power and wifi is essentials.

Is the location and the grounds were phenomenal. Rooms were very dated looks like nineteen seventies or eighties. Definitely not wheelchair accessible. No television But the beach and grounds were Phenomenal. We stayed only one night on our way to La Paz. Did not try the internet. Overall, we're happy we stopped here. No TV's in the room.

Lovely spot beautiful beach and pool and nice uograded room with little fridge. Food was delicious. We had a car so drove into Los barrilos and todo santos la Paz Santiago etc all from there on day trips.

Beds were comfortable and location on the beach is great. We had a hammock right outside our patio door. However, the bathroom needed lots of love and the hotel restaurant, while it served good food, was quite expensive.

The good: It's very close to the beach. The restaurant is better than most places we've been and better priced. It's family friendly. The staff is very accomodating The bad: Everything is old. The staff can only do so much but a lot of the structure could need some kind of repair or updating. There is no microwave or fridge in the room we stayed in. A/C worked but was old and noisy. Please do yourself a favor and spend your money on a different hotel in Los Barriles which is a very close drive away. This is NOT a $200/night hotel — or at least shouldn’t be. I’m an avid, oftentimes solo traveler & rarely am I disappointed in my stays because I do my homework. This place had some mixed reviews, so I took a chance. Unfortunately. First, it’s a pain in the butt to find. There address is super wonky with Google maps & Apple directions. But I did finally find it. Unfortunately. Woman at reception put a $200 incidental hold on my card for a 1 night stay for 1 person in Mexico. Property is fine, but rooms are incredibly outdated, feel dingy & definitely didn’t feel secure. The door on my 1st room didn’t lock from outside. Woman at reception kept arguing it was key. It wasn’t — it was the door. Took 45 minutes to move me to 2nd equally depressing room. Walls are paper thin & place is full of seniors who loud talk & sound like they all have emphysema. You have to take a laminated card to the bar to retrieve your pool towel & bring towel back to swap for card. This is ridiculous at this price. There is NO wifi. Not by the pool or in the restaurant as advertised. NONE. I finally had to go pay 100 pesos to get a modem for my room. Again, ridiculous. Food was okay. Definitely over-priced & restaurant is equally depressing. Someone should buy this property and give it a full makeover. It might have been nice 30 years ago, but not now.
Please do yourself a favor and spend your money on a different hotel in Los Barriles which is a very close drive away. This is NOT a $200/night hotel — or at least shouldn’t be. I’m an avid, oftentimes solo traveler & rarely am I disappointed in my stays because I do my homework. This place had some mixed reviews, so I took a chance. Unfortunately. First, it’s a pain in the butt to find. There address is super wonky with Google maps & Apple directions. But I did finally find it. Unfortunately. Woman at reception put a $200 incidental hold on my card for a 1 night stay for 1 person in Mexico. Property is fine, but rooms are incredibly outdated, feel dingy & definitely didn’t feel secure. The door on my 1st room didn’t lock from outside. Woman at reception kept arguing it was key. It wasn’t — it was the door. Took 45 minutes to move me to 2nd equally depressing room. Walls are paper thin & place is full of seniors who loud talk & sound like they all have emphysema. You have to take a laminated card to the bar to retrieve your pool towel & bring towel back to swap for card. This is ridiculous at this price. There is NO wifi. Not by the pool or in the restaurant as advertised. NONE. I finally had to go pay 100 pesos to get a modem for my room. Again, ridiculous. Food was okay. BV Oceanfront Hot Springs Resort was a wonderful little getaway spot. The staff were absolutely excellent. Kind, helpful, quick and excellent at what they do. From groundskeeping, bar staff, wait staff, spa, reception, housekeeping — everyone. So impressive, all around. Exceeded expectations and really made you feel at home and taken care of. Thought the resort is old, the grounds are beautiful with the greenery as the focal point. The plants, trees flowers are so dense and charmingly well-kept. It was a treat to walk about the property. Probably the top highlight for us was the food. We had heard it was good, but wow. Our experience is the food in Mexico is typically high-volume, touristy and bland. But, not so here. Not only was the presentation always so surprising and luxurious, but it was DELICIOUS. We ordered a variety of items (pastas, tacos, guac, salads, tortilla soup (amazing), ribs, burgers, etc.) and everything was amazing. Very, very reasonably priced. Truly impressed and blown away. Don’t miss the “grill night”, and though we missed it by a day, we heard the “taco Tuesday” is something special, and I have no doubt! The chefs are truly amazing at their craft at BV Oceanfront Hot Springs Resort. Overall, this quiet, little slice outside of Cabo was a delight. We would go back and perhaps rent a car or side-by-side to experience a little more around the resort; but, for only a couple of days lounging and beach walks was just the relaxing getaway needed.

This is not a five-star resort. Most the rooms don't even have TVs and the Wi-Fi only works next to the pool. That said they have a nice pool and hot tub and are right on the ocean. It's about 5 minute drive from Los Bariless with easy access to lots of places to go hiking or off-roading. If you want to plan something do not listen to the front desk staff of the people you talk to on Facebook from the company. Figure out what you want to book and book it yourself. They will tell you not to worry about it they'll be plenty of stuff available when you get there and that is a lie. I don't know if it's laziness or what but if you go down there without your trip planned and booked you'll end up not getting to do most of the things you want to do

BUT the shuttle there cost $250 USD (which was a shock) and there's nothing in walking distance. Trying to set up transport through the resort is incredibly expensive ($25USD for the 10 minute drive to the nearest town). Talking to the restaurant staff can get you contact info for local drivers, and the drivers the hotel hires can often be contacted directly if you're friendly with them. The prices are much better that way (in our case, 200 pesos to the town or about 10USD). But really, you need a vehicle to fully explore the area. In short, the property is wonderful, the staff are amazing, the food and the beach are great. If you're just looking for a weekend getaway I highly recommend it. But if you're staying longer or like to explore then make sure you have access to a car.

Friendly staff, excellent service. We thought the restaurant here was very good! The room was comfortable and nice. Not super high end but overall a good value. Great location on the beach, which was quiet and calm when we were there. We did not swim in the pool but it looked nice. We would definitely stay here again.

Hidden gem 45 minutes from SJDC. Wonderful staff, nice clean rooms and linen, excellent restaurant!!! Try the Apple Tart, it's out of this world! If you are looking for rest and relaxation with beautiful sunrises and the Sea of Cortez at your back door this is the place. We will be back😀🤗

The hotel/property is right on a great stretch of beach. There’s not really anything else immediately around the property in terms of dining options or things to do, but Los Barilles is a short drive away. The restaurant on site is quite good. Overall, it’s a nice hotel and location for a quiet and relaxing beach vacation.

Fabulous stay. The pool, hot tub, bathrooms and ocean, yes ocean, are all heated by natural hot springs. The ocean part is an experience. You walk to the waters edge, sit in the sand and dig a hole with your hands and feet about a foot deep and hot water comes up. Awesome. Dinner and breakfast fantastic. The property is older, everything else makes up for this charming friendly easy resort. Will return.

Staff were wonderful, the hot tub of mineral water was superb, the pool a bit chilly but delightful. Their taco Tuesday is not to be missed. And the beach is gorgeous and clean, with nice lounging furniture. The only odd note is the parts of the property that are in a state of decay— a convention center, another pool and hot tub that are decommissioned.

Enjoyed our stay with a few exceptions… room located backed up to boat launch and tractor started at 6am every morning. Food choices limited and pricey. Bar tender spoke zero English. Hot tub was either 112 degrees or 90 bubbles never worked. No refrigerator or microwave in room. Bbq outside was $38 per day use. Freedom in surroundings fantastic.

Extremely old and rundown. Filthy room. Zombies for employees. We expected less than perfect, but this was a new level of disappointment. Barstaff and waitstaff spent most of their time staring into computer screens. No customer service skills at all.The food was awful. There was no comfort to be had anywhere. The mattress had to be at least 20 years old and hard as cement. Bathroom was so small, miniature toilet and shower. No TV and no usable furniture. The grounds were so neglected, pool was unusable. It was rotted and missing thousands of tiles. It was so sad to see. It must have been beautiful at one time. There was no fishing available. It looked like a boat junk yard and no one would answer my question of when was the last time a boat was actually launched there. We planned to stay for 5 nights but left after 1 sleepless night and burned another day traveling to another location. We had been looking forward to visiting this resort for many years, but it was just to uncomfortable to stay.

Beds were comfortable and location on the beach is great. We had a hammock right outside our patio door. However, the bathroom needed lots of love and the hotel restaurant, while it served good food, was quite expensive.

This place is beautiful, but I’m very sensitive to mold and chemicals and both of these were prevalent. The A/C had visible mold all around that and in the middle of the night a pest and weed control crew came and sprayed the heck out of the grounds with pesticides and herbicides. If you’re ok with the above, than I will say that this place is quite beautiful, the pool is great and being right on the water is lovely.
