Azoris Faial Garden – Resort Hotel

Dated but pleasant and well maintained resort with spa and various buildings. Short walk to the waterfront in Horta.

It is annoying that we have to pay for hair caps to use the pool There were cockroaches in the pool area around the jacuzzi. Otherwise it was very nice.

Clean decent rooms, good service and some nice facilities. Nice place to relax in Horta. But: The breakfast should be improved (coffee is terrible), there is no tennis court as advertised, the gym is terribly warm, the steam sauna smells of mold and the bar area is uncomfortably warm.

Hotel is in a great and central location with easy access to the main road and harbor. Hotel and rooms were a bit dated but worked fine for us. Beds are on the firmer side but not uncomfortable. No ventilation in the bathroom so when someone showered the whole room would get steamy. Love that they had both and indoor and outdoor pool! The indoor pool is heated which is nice. They also have a sauna and steam room! The breakfast is pretty good with eggs and bacon and different mix of breads. Also great fruit selection. The restaurant staff was great too although a bit frazzled at times when it got busy. Reception desk as helpful. Overall definitely recommend this hotel!!

Pools very nice-indoor and outdoor!! Great to have bar and food service by outdoor pool area with wonderful view of the bay and Pico Island!! Embroidered terry robes an outstanding touch too!!! Grounds absolutely amazing! Staff very friendly!!

Beautiful outside pool with spectacular view. Great location. Unfortunately many things out of service (sauna, poolside shower, equipment in the gym) Many things outdated, would need a complete renovation (spa area, gym, room, bathroom). Breakfast with much choice, but many groups, many people. Not a good coffee. Constant noise from the outside (generator or some kind of a machine). Nice view on the parking lot.

Nice gardens, the hotel allows you to breathe. I didn't get to use the gym, but it looks good enough. Two swimming pools are great. Good breakfast. Centrally located in town, close to restaurants cafés and good hikes.

The restaurant was excellent. The pool and sauna/steam room were very nice also. will be coming back!

Ive seen some negative reviews about this hotel, completely unfounded. Yes it's a bit dated but i found all areas to be clean and tidy. Our room was spotless, again a little dated, perhaps the bathroom could do with replacing the bath with a walk in shower, as you get older who wants to be stepping in and out of a bath. Breakfast was good with plenty to choose from. Service from the staff in all areas was excellent. Overall a good 3 night stay and good value for money.

The place is warn down. We found multiple hairs in our room, the toilet was leaking, the lamp shade had huge stains,… The people who work there were really nice but I wouldn’t stay there a second time

Personnel accueillant bien situé Bel endroit mais vieillot Chambre et tapis sales propreté médiocre , trouvé des médicaments sous le matelas et présence d’insectes rampants ( comme des vers sur sol de la chambre) avons changé de chambre mais insecte présents aussi mais moins nombreux

To call this hotel a 4 star hotel is a joke. The rooms are in dire need of a refurb and the bathrooms are so worn and outdated it give off a bad energy. Worst of all was the so called spa. The horrid tiles and fittings were decades old, dirty and soiled. The wood from the sauna was burnt dark brown and didn’t provide sufficient heat. It was admittedly not an expensive stay but there are far better options than this. On the upside the location was great and only minutes walk to the harbour front.

Shower bath combo a little slippery, possible fall hazard. But overall ok. Good breakfast buffet. Views were the best in Horta. Nice bar area.

The hotel is a lovely property, the pool is fantastic with a beautiful ocean view, and the complimentary breakfast is high quality with many choices. The rooms are a bit dated with quite firm beds, but are otherwise comfortable. The location is excellent with an easy walk to the city center.

You need a little bit of force to close your hotel room door, which sounds like people are slamming doors all day and evening as they are coming and going. This makes for a difficult night of sleeping. On one of the evenings we stayed, the hotel room and entire surrounding buildings lost power. Calling reception didn’t work from the room phone or when using my mobile phone. Without power, we had to sleep with the patio door open to let air circulate because the humidity made the room so warm . The hotel itself was clean, the staff and food was great and the facility was in an ideal location.

it is a quaint hotel with traditional furnishings and charm. Our room is very spacious and well laid out. Ample closet space. Huge bathroom. The view from the balcony is beautiful - marina, mount Pico, the stretch of the ocean in between the two islands. Included breakfast buffet was fine, too.

Bathtubs are dangerous and beds are very uncomfortable.

A very nice hotel with central location in Horta, however the interior in the room was very old, and the carpet and closets didn't smell very good.

Ein altes Haus es Potenzial hätten würde man etwas mehr Liebe hinein stecken. Das Angebot ist groß aber die Qualität leider eher schlecht. + Große Zimmer + Lage (sehr zentral) - harte Betten - Frühstück von schlechter Qualität. Kaffee unterirdisch. Man kann sich aber gegen Aufpreis vernünftigen Kaffee und auch Frühstück bestellen - Zimmer sehr hellhörig. Türen extrem laut. Man hört jeden Gast kommen und gehen. - Klimaanlage mit mangelnder Kühlleistung. Man bekommt den Schlaufraum auf max 23grad runter gekühlt. Klimaanlage bläst aufs Bett.

The room was spacious, the hotel is perfectly located close to everything in Horta and has an incredible view on the bay, we also liked the breakfast. The reception was not always very nice and some pieces of the room would definitely merit a refresher.

Snagging the ocean view was totally worth it—the views were incredible and made for the perfect backdrop to our stay. The location couldn’t have been better! We were able to walk to just about everything, which made exploring so easy and fun. Pro tip: make sure to catch the sunset just down the street by the beach—it’s pure magic. I treated myself to a massage during our stay, and as a massage therapist myself, I can honestly say she was fantastic! Super skilled and totally relaxing. The massage table (and the bed in the room) was on the firmer side, but hey, that’s a small tradeoff for everything else this place offers. Breakfast was super convenient and kept us full for our adventures, and the omelets by the pool bar? Absolutely delicious! We had a little hiccup during our stay, possibly due to a language barrier at first, but once another staff member stepped in, it was handled quickly and kindly—big points for service recovery! Yes, the hotel has a bit of a vintage vibe and the AC wasn’t exactly the best, but honestly, the unbeatable location and easy access to everything (especially the marina—perfect if you’re into fishing!) made it a fantastic choice. All in all, this place made our Horta getaway extra memorable. Would happily stay again!

Uns hat das erste Zimmer nicht ganz zu gesagt, man hat uns aber direkt ein sehr schoenes neues Zimmer gegeben. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit.

Staff was helpful nice to be able to stay around pool area after checkout and while waiting for flight.

Unfriendly. Due to heavy storms on the Azores, all flights had been canceled. Our flight has been postponed by 2 days. The hotel fully ignored that. They just wanted the money and offered no help or understanding. Never again Azoris.

the property was located in a very good and safe area. Very walkable to the downtown, the pool had an excellent view of the ocean/port. Morning breakfast was available and with many options, The shower/bathroom was nice and spacious. A good overall stay.

Wir waren als Paar im Azoris Faial Garden und haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Die Lage direkt am Meer mit Blick auf Pico ist einfach traumhaft. Das Hotel bietet einen schönen Garten, großzügigen Poolbereich und eine entspannte Atmosphäre – perfekt zum Erholen nach Ausflügen auf Faial. Unser Zimmer war sauber, komfortabel und ruhig. Wir haben das Restaurant nicht genutzt, aber das Frühstück war absolut in Ordnung. Ein idealer Ausgangspunkt, um Horta und die Insel zu entdecken.

Great location, just a couple minutes walk to town of Horta and less that 10 minute walk to the beach. Room overlooked the harbor and had a balcony. Good selection of food for breakfast. Friendly staff. Would definately recommend staying here.

This was a very pleasant stay. Friendly staff and the location is wonderful. You have a lovely view of Pico and it is very walkable to Horta. The food from the buffet and the bar were wonderful, lots of fresh options. The bartenders and staff were helpful and nice. It is a clean property. The indoor and outdoor pools as well as the hot tub were great. The main downside is that the rooms need upgrades. They appeared partly renovated. But a full renovation would be lovely. The beds are a bit hard. However, this was a nice stay and worked for us.

Séjour de 2 nuits dans une chambre donnant sur l’arrière. Piscine et spa très bien, à savoir, le bonnet de bain est obligatoire. Petit déjeuner très varié et bon. Par contre le restaurant nous a déçus : nous avions regarder la carte sur leur site internet et nous avons choisis cet hôtel en conséquence. Sur place pas de carte mais un buffet (les 2soirs) consistant en des crudités, un plat de poisson et un plat de viande, donc choix quasiment inexistant. Qualité correct mais pas digne d’un 4 étoiles. Nous n’y retournerons pas.

Fabulous and the breakfast was divine!

This property is amazing! Great place to relax and unwind after a day of sight seeing. Many shops and dining areas are close and you can walk. Also, walkable from port if you took a ferry from other islands. Will definitely be staying here again. Only issue was buffet breakfast: I think eggs were undercooked and/or left out to long.

We had a lovely stay at the Azoris Faial Garden hotel. Fabulous views of Pico island and lovely hotel grounds. Food was very good, plenty of choice at breakfast and all food clearly labelled for allergens. The only thing missing was tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
