Perfect location to visit Hull Uni. Parking available. Room was Ok but one ceiling light was not working. The bathroom was clean but needed some t.l.c. Bedroom was a good size and clean. good facilities. bed mattress was too soft for my wife and I but comfortable. Outside lights to the back of the property were still on around 1..30 pm which disturbed our sleep pattern a bit. In the morning 2 delivery lorries arrived (separately) and had some difficulty manoeuvring onto the rear car park. Might be worth mentioning to guests that deliveries are expected so park carefully. Both drivers were very careful. We will stay here again:)

The location is excellent if you are visiting the University. Parking was no problem. Staff were friendly. Our room was a bit tired and we had a portable oil filled radiator provided, that did not provide much heat, as the plumbed radiators were not on. On our visit the kitchens were closed so there was no breakfast or evening meal option. Fortunately there are plenty of dining options in the vicinity. Personal gripe was that for a pub they did not offer any real ales.

Stayed here a good few times whilst away with work Rooms are a reasonable rate - bit tired but clean Staff always polite and welcoming 20% discount in the pub on food was good and managed to cater for my egg allergy with good diligence

The staff were brilliant we happened to be there on quiz night that was very entertaining. Food was really nice great value and you get 20% off as a hotel guest. Highly recommend

Nice hotel have stayed before the only complaint is I was told that I got 20% off my food and when I got the receipt it was not deducted I have emailed but did not get a reply

The room was dated however the bed was very soft and comfortable (Rm4) and the shower was excellent! Having the restaurant and pub below was very convenient and the 20% discount was great too! The parking at the front and rear was shared with the pub customers so was a challenge around 5pm but that eased off as the night wore on so overnight parking was not an issue.

Directly opposite the University which was extremely handy. Dinner was discounted & very reasonable. Cocktails were ridiculously cheap. Only criticism is that the doors need shaving as they were very hard to open & close against the carpets and the bathroom window didnt close properly.

The staff on arrival were frendly and helpful room was normal but bath mat had what looked like blood on it and bath towels had yellow stains on them both food was good as always waiter was polite and friendly drinks serve was nice and polite breakfast lady was a little rude food was ok

Bed comfortable, room nice and quiet. Staff friendly. Had to get my son to remove the spiders from the cobwebs in the room. One main light and desk light broken. But for the price it was value for money. Convenient for local transport to Hull City Centre.

Free car parking, friendly staff, clean and nice breakfast. Rooms a bit tired and dated. If you happen to get room 4 its above the kitchen with noisy extractors and kitchen staff shouting and discussing things you would rather not hear! Wifi unstable too. Helpful manager assisted a move.

We were visiting the university of Hull and this hotel was perfectly located. Rooms were clean and practical. We could hear the music from the pub till 11pm but it wasn't an issue as we weren't asleep earlier. The interior feels old - looks like from the 80s, but as mentioned, it's clean. Globally a good value for the price (around £50 per room).

Room number 1. Hike to the room which was very tired and dated. Generator kept firing up late evening and early morning making it difficult to sleep. Beds hard. In bath shower is for midgets as hose on shower far too short. Awful nights sleep.

Easy and quick check in and friendly staff. Hotel was very convenient for where I needed to be. However, the room was disappointing. I wasn't expecting much for what I paid but I felt that the room was very tired and worn and fell below my expectations. There was a large stain on the wall that looked like someone had thrown a drink at it. The carpets looked dirty and old. Not all the lights in the room worked and the taps didn't work well. Having said that, for one night and the short time I was in the room, it was comfortable and did the job.

Loved the stay. Room was a great size, very comfortable. Food was nice. Staff were brilliant. ONLY gripe is my room was above some external fans. Despite shutting the windows and wearing ear plugs i still didnt sleep too well BUT aside from that the stay was great.

Radiators not working in room or bathroom Requested a heater but had to leave on all night which gave me a headache. Bathroom was separate so remained freezing. No hot water from taps so no bath only hot water from shower. all this on a very cold Jan night.

The staff were friendly and helpful. We found six fire doors and thirty steps to our room not good as though fit for two ninety year olds it was difficult with suitcases. The shower changed from warm to hot then cold. Was someone else using a shower. The toilet was difficult to flush.Beds clean and comfortable

Reasonable stay. Clean and nicely presented room with a desk and tea/coffee making facilities. Restaurant was closed and no meals/breakfast available. No heating on in my room when I arrived and it was very cold. When returning to my room after work on Day 2 the door had been left unlocked by the cleaning staff whilst my belongings were still in there. Great hospitality from the bar staff in the evening.

Perfect location to visit Hull Uni. Parking available. Room was Ok but one ceiling light was not working. The bathroom was clean but needed some t.l.c. Bedroom was a good size and clean. good facilities. bed mattress was too soft for my wife and I but comfortable. Outside lights to the back of the property were still on around 1..30 pm which disturbed our sleep pattern a bit. In the morning 2 delivery lorries arrived (separately) and had some difficulty manoeuvring onto the rear car park. Might be worth mentioning to guests that deliveries are expected so park carefully. Both drivers were very careful. We will stay here again:)

The location is excellent if you are visiting the University. Parking was no problem. Staff were friendly. Our room was a bit tired and we had a portable oil filled radiator provided, that did not provide much heat, as the plumbed radiators were not on. On our visit the kitchens were closed so there was no breakfast or evening meal option. Fortunately there are plenty of dining options in the vicinity. Personal gripe was that for a pub they did not offer any real ales.

I was on a conference at the uni and needed somewhere handy to stay overnight and this place was perfect friendly comfy warm ( weather was v cold and frosty) and fitted the bill perfectly I cannot fault it thanks guys this is a good decent place to stay!

We were visiting the university of Hull and this hotel was perfectly located. Rooms were clean and practical. We could hear the music from the pub till 11pm but it wasn't an issue as we weren't asleep earlier. The interior feels old - looks like from the 80s, but as mentioned, it's clean. Globally a good value for the price (around £50 per room).

I attend a conference in Hull every year and the hotel is very close to meeting building. I just cross the road to attend the conference. It is an old building but the room is clean and the bed was comfortable.

Directly opposite the University which was extremely handy. Dinner was discounted & very reasonable. Cocktails were ridiculously cheap. Only criticism is that the doors need shaving as they were very hard to open & close against the carpets and the bathroom window didnt close properly.

Reasonable stay. Clean and nicely presented room with a desk and tea/coffee making facilities. Restaurant was closed and no meals/breakfast available. No heating on in my room when I arrived and it was very cold. When returning to my room after work on Day 2 the door had been left unlocked by the cleaning staff whilst my belongings were still in there. Great hospitality from the bar staff in the evening.

This was an older building, so it had a few areas that didn’t work well. (Room size, the loo, noisy hallway) The staff is excellent, eager to help and quickly answered any questions we had. The food in the pub was very nice and the service was great.

Room was basic but clean so it was ok for a one or two nights stay. Food in pub was good and service was prompt.Was allocated a room at rear of pub which was quiet. Car park at rear was handy.

I have stayed here a few times and it is very consistent. Friendly staff, good food and drink, very good value, just opposite the university so good location. My main issue is they don't provide plant based milk even though they have vegan options for breakfast meals! The staff said it isn't on their order list. Please get some soya milk for non dairy tea and coffee! Also the water in the tea urn was luke warm. The staff said it was Greene King policy. Ridiculous. The coffee was piping hot.

The staff were brilliant we happened to be there on quiz night that was very entertaining. Food was really nice great value and you get 20% off as a hotel guest. Highly recommend

Staff were good as was the Breakfast. Lovely big bar. Room was OK but could do with a bit of updating. Room was kept nice and clean though. Enjoyed our stay and would stay again

Room was tired, carpets in need of cleaning/replacing, bedding and towels were clean. Pub in general again pretty tired also. Food was typical pub grub but decent. All staff pleasant and helpful. Served our purpose for a one night break.

The bedrooms are a bit tired looking and it is a bit of a rabbit warren with lots of ups and down stairs so not the best if you have mobility issues. However the room and en-suite were clean, the bed was comfortable and there were tea and coffee supplies in the room - all we really needed for a one night stay. There was a good breakfast and the staff were friendly.

The room was very clean to a high standard the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast and the evening meals are really nice hence I brought my wife there for a birthday meal.
