We were on a road trip and looking for somewhere unique to stay that wasn't a cookie-cutter interstate chain hotel. The McCleary Hotel fit the bill. It's a charmingly weird old place with lots of character. The room was comfortable, the shared bathrooms were clean, and the staff was nice. Can't ask for more than that. We spent the evening chillin' by their gas fire pit in the backyard, and appreciated the coffee and pastries in the morning. If you're looking for a luxury hotel with all the high-end amenities, look elsewhere. But if you're looking for a genuinely unique place to stay and enjoy some living history, this is your spot.

Highly recommend this hotel for peace and relaxation. There were only a few people staying there during my visit (mid-week) and I pretty much had the place to myself. Restroom in the common area was not an issue at all. Bed and bedding was very comfortable. Loved the setting and decor. Owners have done a great job fixing it up in the short time that it's been open and will continue to expand amenities and make improvements.

Don’t think twice about booking this unique and charming hotel. The shared bathrooms are a non issue as the pleasant experience here far outweighs walking down a hall to use the bathroom. The owners could not have been more accommodating and just plain nice, and the throwback feel to hotels of old just made it memorable. We’d book here again in an instant.

This hotel is a really interesting and comfortable hotel built in 1912 by a lumber Barron. It is being restored by a really nice couple, Lorena and Matthew, who we much enjoyed talking to. They were very friendly. Thanks a lot Lorena and Matthew! We particularly enjoyed playing dominoes on the comfortable lawn and looking at all the beautiful trees and green grass.
