Room could have been cleaner.

Zwembad staat al erg lang leeg; bedden drie dagen niet opgenaakt; receptie achter glas erg lastig te verstaan. Zoek het uit lokatie! Jammer.

I know the property was having some renovations but this was not a problem or interference for the guests.

Stay away. Stayed here 2 years ago and it was great. But our recent trip was awful. No amenities. The first time we stayed there was breakfast and general hotel amenities like shampoos and soap. This trip no breakfast, no toiletries, and had to ask for toilet paper. The first night of our stay we didn't sleep much due to excessively noisy air conditioner unit and refrigerator and an unidentified source of other noise. Very noisy. Impossible to sleep. They moved us to a different room thankfully. Our second room had the smoke alarm go off at 4:30 - 5 AM Saturday while we slept. We thought the hotel was on fire. But no, it was only going off in our room and there was no smoke or anything. The person at the service desk was oblivious though the sound carried all the way up front and had to have woken up everyone in rooms near us. The clerk didn't care, so I had to pull and deactivate the alarm in our room. Not hard but it seems like something staff should be concerned about and would want to investigate in their own interest. There was no offer to accommodate our inconvenience at being woken up for more poorly maintained equipment in the hotel. Both rooms were infested with little flies, possibly fleas. It was gross. We only needed somewhere to sleep a few hours for 3 nights and we couldn't get that 2 of the 3 nights. No customer service. No toiletries. No way to sleep through the night. No reason to stay here ever again.
