Midtown Hotel New Orleans

This was the first time I stayed outside the Quarter. Very comfortable beds, plenty of pillows, and the AC worked well. I prefer my room to be 68 degrees. Parking was secure. I used my key pass to park. If you are driving to the City, I highly recommend staying here!

AC barely worked (very old system) and the TV volume would not turn up. Notified the front desk just after 5:00pm and we were told maintenance was gone for the day and no one could look at it and we couldn’t be moved (other rooms were available). So we went and bought a fan. Pool hot tub was broke down, pool fountain was broken, night lites half worked, basically pool area was nothing like the picture. At checkout the lady was unfriendly as well.

Hot water was off for a week. Contractors there putting on a new roof. Swimming pool closed. No frigde or microwaves. Room was Never serviced. Had to beg gor towels. Plus side- rooms are large comfortable & clean. Staff very nice.

Overall: Yes, recommended. Con’s: Not a place to take a walk after dark. Shallow amenities (microwave, fridge, breakfast). Daytime clerk was curt when we called to inquire. Pro’s: Very safe, secured gated parking and card key room. Quiet. Lobby fresh and clean. Comfortable bed and pillows. Room clean for the most part. Night clerk, Anthony, very polite, professional, and incredibly helpful regarding places to see and eat. Short drive to the French Quarter. You get what you pay for. Our rating is largely based on security and proximity, NOT the amenities.

The staff was nice and helpful. I got stuck on the elevator for a while. I read the reviews of this place before booking so I knew what I was getting in to.

This Hotel was not good the swimming pool was very dirty

The hotel is old but it Is being updated . The hot tub wasn’t in service and there is a lot of construction going on . The staff was very pleasant ! The water wasn’t hot . I was told by maintenance that there is 1 boiler . And when the housekeepers wash the hot water is ran out , other than that it’s close via Uber to downtown about 8-9 min . And there are restaurant and bars within walking distance and stores !

My stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing from start to finish. When I arrived, several lightbulbs were missing—apparently stolen—leaving the bathroom as the only functional light source. The front-desk staff didn’t seem to understand what a lightbulb even was, which made resolving the issue impossible. The room itself was in terrible condition. The toilet paper dispenser bar was missing, there was no hot water, and the shower had a constant drip that sprayed water across the entire bathroom. I kept feeling like something was biting me throughout the night—though I didn’t find bedbugs, which is about the only positive thing I can say. There was a dead cockroach on the floor and random trash still left behind. The room also had that unmistakable “cheap hotel” smell, a mix of stale cigarette smoke and harsh cleaner, even though it was supposedly a non-smoking room. The bathtub had multiple cigarette burns around the rim, like several guests had literally fallen asleep smoking in the bath. To top it all off, my keycard never worked. I had to go to the front desk to get it reprogrammed every single night of my stay. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had, and I absolutely would not recommend staying here.

Rooms were a bit dirty. Fruit flies where every where.. cleaning person took our used towels and never replaced

Hair was all down the bathroom walls long hair.

This Hotel is very unclean the only thing that is kept clean is the front lobby, the rooms are dilapidated and run down the pool is filthy the atmosphere is noisy with shady activities in the area.

The gentleman at the front desk was a ray of sunshine. He was very friendly, funny and helpful. The lobby area is also really nice. But the rooms were pretty bad.. we got a room overlooking the street. Our view was a bunch of homeless people, high on and dealing drugs. Our beds were soft and comfortable but I don't think the sheets were changed. Found a few hairs under the covers. I slept on top of the blanket. The bathroom door didn't close all the way and the toilet wouldn't stop running, even after trying to fix it. The ceiling above the shower had water damage and the shower head was covered in mildew. One wash cloth had a little black hair on it. Also thought it was weird that the walls had zero artwork and there was no decor whatsoever. The room smelt strongly of mold, there was thick condensation on the toilet and the sheets were damp (that was a new experience, I thought it may have just been my imagination but they were definitely damp). Overall, it wasn't HORRIBLE. But I wouldn't stay here again.

There was lots of hair in the shower drain.

There was a bandaid on the shower roof was falling the toilet wasn’t clean no ice bucket but had an ice machine I even asked for a bucket for ice and was told they didn’t have any the shower was dirty check in was horrible had a great balcony but couldn’t go out the doors dirty rags from Oreos guests left behind just overall horrible wouldn’t recommend ever staying here

People are friendly - that’s where it ends! From the smelly elevator, staid splattered walls and floors, drab grey of every wall, toilet that screams every time you flush it, no phones, no working TVs, no extra towels, no windows in the room … not really sure we have ever stayed in a place like this!!!

This hotel exceeds expectation. Large rooms and cleanand friendly staff. Wifi is nit optimal on top floor, but enough space and beds are good.

The AC unit didn’t work, there was no refrigerator, no microwave. Where the microwave was located was down stairs in a hot room. The room was hot and humid even with the AC turned down to the lowest of the low. VERY humid room. There was no way to bring the buggy down and the front desk person didn’t let us know. Just allowed us to take the buggy up without mentioning that there was stairs which would’ve been fine, however when trying to bring the buggy down it didn’t fit due to the height of the stairs. It was not bad bad for the price but I don’t think I would be staying there again.

The room itself was clean but the hallways were disgusting with trash all over the place. The room was too hot. The AC did not work. Will NOT stay again.

This hotel shouldn't be considered a Hotel. The hot water was not working. There's no heat. The TV was broken only showing half of the picture. No coffee maker, no fridge, microwave. Bed covers has cigarette burns. The carpet was so dirty and stained. This hotel is terrible not worth staying at.

Stay was good, room, bed, and bathroom was clean. No chairs whatsoever or microwave which was a bummer but the king bed was nice and comfy. Great for a quick stay

Hotel was what I needed. Someplace to sleep and shower while in town. Bed was comfortable, ac worked, gated parking lot. Bus stop right around the corner to get to French Quarter and Superdome. Food and gas stations all around. Basic room. No microwave,fridge or coffee maker in room but didn't spend a lot of time in the room. No hot water first two nights but was fixed by night three. Would stay again.

I booked a room with double beds and a balcony. I was given a room with 1 bed, no Window no balcony. I asked about it and was lied to by the lady working the front desk. Called downstairs a dozen times to get WiFi password, no one ever answered the phone

This is the jankiest hotel ever. Our room had a switch on the wall to turn on the heat/air. Only the heat worked and there was no working thermostat, so if you got hot, you had to flip the switch off. It was already hot when we walked in. I went to the front desk to request a different room. The guy working the desk was the best part about this hotel. He took me to 3 other rooms. The first two, the heat worked the same way. The third, actually felt like it had a working air conditioner, so we took it. Wrong! There was a thermostat on the wall, but it wasn't functional. There was cool air blowing but you couldn't turn it off. The mattress was very uncomfortable. The toilet squealed really loud when you flushed it. I dont know how this place stays in business.

The room was nice, and the bed was soft. It was quiet at night. The only problem was they had no hot water and no stopper for the bath, so I had to take a cold shower. There was also no fridge or microwave, but for the price, it was worth it.

we loved the final room we were given. great view into the beautiful courtyard. My family and i were stranded for 6 days in New Orleans and this hotel was not only affordable but the staff gracious and accommodating. At first we got the wrong room but the staff jumped to rectify this, the second room was in a part of the hotel that had yet to be renovated which we were dissapointed but the moment we mentioned it they jumped again to get us into a room we prefered more. the property manager even sought us out the next morning to verify that we were satifsied with the new room and offered to refund us the cost of the next night if we were at all unsatisfied. Lyndell the over night host was so kind and understanding with us when we pulled in there late at night tired, worried, and more than a little lost since were from out of town. i must have asked him a dozen questions which he did his absolute best to answer and help me with. Tahiti, the property manager was the very best!!! she helped us find our way around town by suggesting the trolley day pass which saved us so much money, she made sure we were all comfortable and was just wonderful to us for the duration of our stay! she really made this stay one id consider doing again. Give her a raise.

Horrible staff

When we arrived to the property I walked in to check into our room and front desk was not happy. She seemed annoyed I was checking in, on her phone the whole time. The machine wouldn’t let her make two keys and she was complaining about that and saying they need to tell everyone the problems they’re having before they arrive. The room we first got was absolutely disgusting! Smelled and very old. I couldn’t walk on the carpet. I left my shoes next to my bed and put them on when I got out of bed. Our heat didn’t work either. Woke up and was freezing. We left early morning and when we arrived back I told front desk and she was very rude about it. Told me I couldn’t switch rooms, called I’m assuming the manager and he came down and switch my room. He didn’t acknowledge me or anything. No sorry or anything. The second room we got was so much better. New beds, new carpet and nice tv. No complaints on the second room we had! We got clean towels every morning which was nice. The last day we did ask for toilet paper and was told someone would bring it and no one ever brought us any. They are doing construction and the new rooms are updated and pretty nice! Basic, no phones or coffee or anything like that, but they’re nice.

Horrible disrespectful staff said she was the manager zero helpful, no hot water for days, bugs @ the hotel, crackheads all around. Not family safe! I'm really surprised the manager is still working @ this hotel she had a really nasty attitude about everything.

This was the worst experience involving customer service, travel, and hotels.com that I have ever experienced in my life. Unfortunately for me and my pregnant girlfriend we needed to book a hotel room one night and MISTAKENLY chose hotel.com and the Midtown Hotel in New Orleans, LA. After paying $187.62 for two nights through hotel.com we arrived at the hotel and attempted to check in. The front desk woman from the start acted like having to check us in was the most inconvenient thing she could possibly be asked to do. From the moment we stepped foot in the door I could feel that we had made a mistake. We did not feel welcome and as it turns out we werent. The first excuse we were given on why we could not check in was that I did not have my ID. We had been burglarized the day before and my wallet was stolen. Nowhere on my reservation or any email I received stated that a physical copy of my drivers license was needed. We were informed that if we paid another $75 that we could transfer the name of the booking into my girlfriends name (who had her ID) and that we could proceed. After paying the money and trying to check in again we were informed we needed a physical copy of the card we used to pay. Since we didn't have it we were RUDELY RUDELY RUDELY turned away again. No refund. Since we spent our last $250.00 for nothing we were now broke and spent the night on the disgusting steeets of New Orleans. We were in a horrible, scary area and my girlfriend wept all night.

If you’re just looking for a decent place to stay in New Orleans, it’s great. Very basic. NOT bougie at all. The hotel was clean, but there was mold in the bathroom ceiling. The staff is friendly. The surrounding neighborhood was gritty but they have a fenced in parking lot for customers and you swipe your room key to open the gate so I felt pretty safe. Parking lot is connected to the hotel. It’s dated so it gives off the old New Orleans charm. Cameras are everywhere. There’s a hooka bar across the street that was nice. I didn’t go to NOLA to stay in the room so it worked for me.

The property was under construction. And the neighborhood isn't very good.

Property is conveniently located close to downtown and the French Quarter. However, the area is not the best and the customer service was lacking from check in to check out. It’s priced correctly and has free parking, which was a plus. Just a place to sleep, no bells, no whistles, just that!

No complaints! Room was decent. Very basic, which is fine with us. No fridge or microwave, but we only stayed the night, so we didn’t need any of that. Beds were very nice and clean. Thr property around the hotel is very run down and homeless people taking over across the street. I don’t see them causing problems and doesn’t effect the room. Overall, good stay!

We booked this hotel bc it is located near the family we were visiting. It gives an hourly-rate vibe. The furniture in the lobby was nice and they offered free coffee in the morning. The front desk staff was friendly. The hall and room smelled of cigarettes or weed. They supplied us with exactly 2 low-quality towels and washcloths daily. The toilet and the tub were in the small space with the vanity right outside. The vanity was the only thing that looked like it had been renovated. The ac was good. The thermostat was simple to operate. The beds were warm, and the matresses were comfortable. The beds had 3 flat pillows each. There was one desk-like table in the room with chipped and burn marks and one chair. We had a large flat-screen tv with a remote that worked intermittently. No luggage rack. There is no place to hang clothes. There is a mini fridge in the room that I used to place my open suitcase. There was a weird window alcove with a hole in the wall that had been recently spackled poorly and not painted. The carpet was gross, and there was no daily housekeeping with the exception of fresh towels. When we arrived, we had a tissue box on the vanity. We went out the next morning, and it was gone when we returned. I asked at the front desk, and I was told that it was removed due to "inventory issues." The attendants at the property were so nice to me and made me feel at home, they helped me find things to do and places to eat at. I arrived at this venue extremely sad and they made my experience way better. My room was quiet and peaceful, the poolside was nice super clean and quiet. Anytime I needed to talk or help Ms. Carol was right there, everyone was really sweet.

Nice vibe i enjoyed the visit i recommend this place cause it is a nice location big rooms and near nice dining and also provide a restaurant too.

The noise level surrounding the property was a bit loud for most of the night. The hotel, however, was very beautiful and comfortable. There were lots of eating places around the area and not to far from Downtown and transportation.

Overalll for price it is worth it. Good location very close to bus lines. Less than 2 blocks for all directions. Has gated parking .On busy street but adjacent to nice neighborhood with restaurant and cafe options WiFi was non existent and hot water scarce. Pool would have been sweet if operating. Staff was pleasant. hope they keep moving forward with renovations . Will use again.

I like the hotel in general. Staff was very supportive. The size of the bedroom is just as large as helicopter landing spot. The hotel is situated well on the way to the airport and good toward downtown. Would be nice to add the galore water supply in order to Make early morning coffee in the room.

This is a nice place to stay for a weekend visit. it's walking distance from restaurants. The only issue was that things are being upgraded so everything wasn't at its best potential but I would definitely stay again because I do see the potential in the property!
