Accueil au top, propre et bien entretenu. On entend trop la chambre au dessus dommage. Pas d'ascenseur pour atteindre le 1r étage ( réception) Par contre la situation a côté du métro est super !

The information about this hotel is not accurate. The lobby of this hotel is on the second floor and there is no elevator to get to the second floor but a narrow, curved and long staircase. If you are traveling with a heavy medium size luggage, you’re going to struggle going up the steps to just get to the lobby. And you have to do this every time you get in and out of the hotel. Even though it’s advertise a smoke free hotel, the lobby stinks of cigarette smell constantly. The elevator from the lobby to the other floors can only be used by one person at a time. There are no mini fridges or coffee makers in the less expensive rooms. And the view they advertise can only be viewed by one room on the top floor. At least the less expensive rooms are not carpeted and floors don’t look clean. Currently, there is construction on so scaffolding obstruct any view and there are loud noises starting at 8 am. No closet but a tiny area to hang 5 things. The showers leak out of the stall. One big PRO, the location is great. Easy access to train that goes to and from the airport. Steps only from a big metro line and supermarket and restaurants very close.

Lo negativo: para llegar a la recepción no hay elevador y hay que subir bastantes gradas en un espacio muy estrecho, luego para subir a las habitaciones hay solo un ascensor muy pequeño que cabe solo una persona con sus maletas y es muy viejo, lento y hace unos ruidos de espanto, la habitación de 9 mts cuadrados que tomé es muy pequeña igual que el baño y no hay desayuno buffet como dice en los datos de la propiedad o al menos no vi nada que se le pareciera aun cuando se pagó por el servicio, además el desayuno que nos dieron fue bastante limitado. Lo positivo es que hay muchas opciones para comer y otros comercios cerca y la principal es que a unos 5 metros de la salida del hotel está una de las entradas de la estación de metro/RER Denfert Rochereau que te comunican con toda la ciudad.

The property itself is a bit sketchy but for 1 or 2 nights, it's fine. The location is very good - during the day. The Denfert Rochereau station is directly in front of the property so convenience to the Metro is excellent. At night is a different story. I'm from New York so I'm not squeemish about homeless people or druggies walking around the street. However, the Hotel itself is in desperate need of an upgrade. The hallway to our room looked like something out of a horror movie and you're basically betting on something otherworldly jumping out at you right before entering the room. While the room itself was satisfactory and clean, it too can do for an upgrade. What I really DISLIKED the most of this Hotel was the fact that the moment you walk in, there's a huge, steep flight of stairs. If you have large luggage, I wish you the best of luck getting up the stairs with it in tow. I won't even mention the elevator at the top of said stairs to get to the rooms because as is customary in Europe, you can only fit 2 people with no luggage or take turns going up the elevator 1 person and 1 piece of luggage at a time. Another detail is that they lock the door of the hotel at night which is good for security but bad if G-d forbid there's a fire or if you plan to leave the hotel in the early morning like we did (we had a 5 am train to London). Our room had a wonderful view of the Eiffel Tower so it made up for the setbacks. I would recommend but only for a 1-2 night stay.

First of all, I have to say that the staff at this hotel is a 10 out of 10. This was the first hotel that we stayed at as part of a longer trip in Europe. The front desk staff was so friendly, accommodating, and very welcoming. We did not speak the native language, and although there was a language barrier, they made our entire check-in process and entire stay so easy. The room was very small, which is normal in this area, but the room and view were wonderful. There is an elevator available after you make it to the floor that the front desk is on, but beware that it’s not easy to get all of your suitcases up the first flight and a half of stairs before the elevator so if you were staying here, you may wanna pack lightly

Very nice service and rooms We’re comfortable and clean. Bigger than most Paris rooms we’ve stayed in. Stayed for 3 nights during a heat wave. No AC but they provided fans. One room the fan was good; the other the fan wasn’t very strong. Noisy with windows open (which was needed this week) but quieter with them closed. Breakfast was basic but good. It was in a nice neighborhood with lots of restaurants, monoprix and a metro stop. Close to catacombs if you’re visiting that and an easy metro ride to other attractions. Would stay again but maybe not in summer unless booking close to trip to look at weather. FYI if you have mobility issues, while they have a lift to access the hotel there is still a flight of stairs. We enjoyed our stay!

Great place to stay. Staff were excellent very friendly and helpful with extras like printing out train tickets for us. Rooms are small but very clean and well laid out. You need to climb 1 narrow flight of stairs to get to reception. Then a small elevator can be used from there. Excellent location, catacombs across the street, restaurants of all sorts within a block. Subway and buses within 2 minutes. Looking forward to staying here again.

Some of the staff were really friendly, very polite and eager to help out. Breakfast was far more expensive than just going to local cafe or bakery for croissants. We had to ask repeatedly for more pillows (1 each isn’t enough!). Generally clean and the place was cleaned each day and fresh towels. The room was smaller than the pictures suggest, but the bed was very comfortable. Quite firm but just right for us. Wouldn’t recommend for someone over about 6’2” as doubt you’d fit on the toilet! Generally a very positive experience and the hotel feels safe with a 24-hour reception and double front doors and a lift. There is a narrow stairway to reception so not suitable for those with mobility issues. Thank you to the kind lady on reception who looked after our bags for a few hours on the final day.

Hotel du Lion is an auberge suitable to access my workplace. A couple of minutes of walking takes us to Gare de Denfert-Rochereau. You can see Rue Daguerre just crossing the road. The room is kept clean every day. Kind and helpful persons are at the desk.

Excellent accueil, même à une heure tardive. Personnel vraiment à l'écoute, gentil et efficace. Chambres agréables, très propres et fonctionnelles. Bonne literie. Très bon petit déjeuner. Une très bonne adresse pour un prix raisonnable dans le secteur de Denfert-Rochereau

Excellent accueil avec un personnel très à l’écoute, très serviable et très compétent. Nous avons profité du service petit-déjeuner, on ne peut plus copieux, chaque matin de notre séjour qui mérite bien plus que 2 étoiles. Les chambres sont très sympa et très propres, merci à toutes les petites mains qui on en charge la propreté de l’établissement. Inutile de vous dire que nous reviendrons y séjourner sans hésitation. Bonne continuation à tout le monde.

Breakfast is just a croissant. The rooms are small and the floor is very dusty. The rest of the room was fine though cleanliness wise.
Breakfast is just a croissant. The rooms are small and the floor is very dusty. The rest of the room was fine though cleanliness wise.

Lo negativo: para llegar a la recepción no hay elevador y hay que subir bastantes gradas en un espacio muy estrecho, luego para subir a las habitaciones hay solo un ascensor muy pequeño que cabe solo una persona con sus maletas y es muy viejo, lento y hace unos ruidos de espanto, la habitación de 9 mts cuadrados que tomé es muy pequeña igual que el baño y no hay desayuno buffet como dice en los datos de la propiedad o al menos no vi nada que se le pareciera aun cuando se pagó por el servicio, además el desayuno que nos dieron fue bastante limitado. Lo positivo es que hay muchas opciones para comer y otros comercios cerca y la principal es que a unos 5 metros de la salida del hotel está una de las entradas de la estación de metro/RER Denfert Rochereau que te comunican con toda la ciudad.

Some of the staff were really friendly, very polite and eager to help out. Breakfast was far more expensive than just going to local cafe or bakery for croissants. We had to ask repeatedly for more pillows (1 each isn’t enough!). Generally clean and the place was cleaned each day and fresh towels. The room was smaller than the pictures suggest, but the bed was very comfortable. Quite firm but just right for us. Wouldn’t recommend for someone over about 6’2” as doubt you’d fit on the toilet! Generally a very positive experience and the hotel feels safe with a 24-hour reception and double front doors and a lift. There is a narrow stairway to reception so not suitable for those with mobility issues. Thank you to the kind lady on reception who looked after our bags for a few hours on the final day.

Overall it was a good location in Paris and not a bad price. However, the room is VERY small and you do have to carry you bags up a set of stairs. We noticed half of the saff was very helpful while the other half felt like they were mocking us for our terrible french.

Very nice service and rooms We’re comfortable and clean. Bigger than most Paris rooms we’ve stayed in. Stayed for 3 nights during a heat wave. No AC but they provided fans. One room the fan was good; the other the fan wasn’t very strong. Noisy with windows open (which was needed this week) but quieter with them closed. Breakfast was basic but good. It was in a nice neighborhood with lots of restaurants, monoprix and a metro stop. Close to catacombs if you’re visiting that and an easy metro ride to other attractions. Would stay again but maybe not in summer unless booking close to trip to look at weather. FYI if you have mobility issues, while they have a lift to access the hotel there is still a flight of stairs. We enjoyed our stay!

First of all, I have to say that the staff at this hotel is a 10 out of 10. This was the first hotel that we stayed at as part of a longer trip in Europe. The front desk staff was so friendly, accommodating, and very welcoming. We did not speak the native language, and although there was a language barrier, they made our entire check-in process and entire stay so easy. The room was very small, which is normal in this area, but the room and view were wonderful. There is an elevator available after you make it to the floor that the front desk is on, but beware that it’s not easy to get all of your suitcases up the first flight and a half of stairs before the elevator so if you were staying here, you may wanna pack lightly

Great place to stay. Staff were excellent very friendly and helpful with extras like printing out train tickets for us. Rooms are small but very clean and well laid out. You need to climb 1 narrow flight of stairs to get to reception. Then a small elevator can be used from there. Excellent location, catacombs across the street, restaurants of all sorts within a block. Subway and buses within 2 minutes. Looking forward to staying here again.

Hotel du Lion is an auberge suitable to access my workplace. A couple of minutes of walking takes us to Gare de Denfert-Rochereau. You can see Rue Daguerre just crossing the road. The room is kept clean every day. Kind and helpful persons are at the desk.

Perfect spot! The metro was 4 steps from the door! There was also a grocery store and a market directly across the street. Could not ask for a better spot! Staff was super friendly and very accommodating! I would definitely stay here again.

A localização do hotel é excelente. Fica ao lado da estação Denfert-Rochereau. Boa vizinhança, com boas opções de alimentação, supermercados e acesso aos pontos turísticos da cidade. O staff do hotel foi muito simpático e amigável. Entretanto, ao meu ver o café da manhã incluído na reserva não e adequado. As porções servidas pela funcionária do hotel são limitadas em quantidade e variedade. Acredito que este seja um ponto a ser melhorado. Também senti falta de um sistema de refrigeração do quarto ou de um ventilador.

Pictures on Expedia are a bit misleading. It’s not a bad place, but it’s definitely showing a lot more wear and tear than the pictures show. The entrance to the hotel is not attractive at all. There’s trash on the sidewalk outside the doors, and the area is a bit run down. That said, it doesn’t appear to be an unsafe area. We were there 5 days and never ran into issues with anyone. Also on the entrance, you find out the hard way the welcome desk is on the second floor, and there’s no elevator! Making things worse is the stairway to the front desk is very narrow and fairly steep. Lugging a heavy suitcase up the stairs is a real challenge. My wife wouldn’t have been able to do it since she’d just had knee surgery. The front desk staff are very friendly and very helpful. They assisted the person who presented the morning continental-style breakfast, who was incredibly friendly and helpful! She was flawless every morning. She alone made up for the shortcomings I described. All in all it wasn’t bad, but I wouldn’t stay there again. The entrance and stairs alone are a deal breaker.

There is a narrow stairway to reception so not suitable for those with mobility issues. Thank you to the kind lady on reception who looked after our bags for a few hours on the final day.
Some of the staff were really friendly, very polite and eager to help out. Breakfast was far more expensive than just going to local cafe or bakery for croissants. We had to ask repeatedly for more pillows (1 each isn’t enough!). Generally clean and the place was cleaned each day and fresh towels. The room was smaller than the pictures suggest, but the bed was very comfortable. Quite firm but just right for us. Wouldn’t recommend for someone over about 6’2” as doubt you’d fit on the toilet! Generally a very positive experience and the hotel feels safe with a 24-hour reception and double front doors and a lift. I was charged for taxes when I arrived and I had already paid for it. When I was leaving they wanted me to pay for the breakfast again . Also breakfast is not buffet . It’s bread, coffee and orange juice

Excellent accueil, même à une heure tardive. Personnel vraiment à l'écoute, gentil et efficace. Chambres agréables, très propres et fonctionnelles. Bonne literie. Très bon petit déjeuner. Une très bonne adresse pour un prix raisonnable dans le secteur de Denfert-Rochereau

Excellent accueil avec un personnel très à l’écoute, très serviable et très compétent. Nous avons profité du service petit-déjeuner, on ne peut plus copieux, chaque matin de notre séjour qui mérite bien plus que 2 étoiles. Les chambres sont très sympa et très propres, merci à toutes les petites mains qui on en charge la propreté de l’établissement. Inutile de vous dire que nous reviendrons y séjourner sans hésitation. Bonne continuation à tout le monde.

A localização do hotel é excelente. Fica ao lado da estação Denfert-Rochereau. Boa vizinhança, com boas opções de alimentação, supermercados e acesso aos pontos turísticos da cidade. O staff do hotel foi muito simpático e amigável. Entretanto, ao meu ver o café da manhã incluído na reserva não e adequado. As porções servidas pela funcionária do hotel são limitadas em quantidade e variedade. Acredito que este seja um ponto a ser melhorado. Também senti falta de um sistema de refrigeração do quarto ou de um ventilador.

Very nice service and rooms We’re comfortable and clean. Bigger than most Paris rooms we’ve stayed in. Stayed for 3 nights during a heat wave. No AC but they provided fans. One room the fan was good; the other the fan wasn’t very strong. Noisy with windows open (which was needed this week) but quieter with them closed. Breakfast was basic but good. It was in a nice neighborhood with lots of restaurants, monoprix and a metro stop. Close to catacombs if you’re visiting that and an easy metro ride to other attractions. Would stay again but maybe not in summer unless booking close to trip to look at weather. FYI if you have mobility issues, while they have a lift to access the hotel there is still a flight of stairs. We enjoyed our stay!

Equipe de recepção muito boa, falam inglês ou espanhol, limpeza perfeito, hotel é antigo, aquele lugar pra vc bater pernas de dia, chegar e dormir, sem barulho, metrô linha 4 e 6 na calçada, 15min a pé do Jardim de Luxemburgo e ao lado das Catacumbas de Paris, 30min a pé até o Rio a Sena e Notredame, na mesma rua em frente possui um mercado que tem de tudo, até refeições prontas, se não quiser sair pra comer, mas na avenida ótimos cafés!

The staff at the hotel were so helpful and friendly. The room was spotlessly clean. The hotel is very well located for getting around Paris and to/from CDG airport. It is a busy area with lots of traffic noise but it didn’t bother me as I was up early each day. I really enjoyed the breakfast.

We had a fabulous stay here! The location is perfect if you take the train from Paris or the airport, it is steps from the train station and from the entrance to the catacombs. Very convenient to Métro anywhere in the city. At the desk (I am so sorry that I’ve forgotten her name! Mirela?) was wonderful!! So kind and helpful!! Rooms were clean, cool, and beds were very comfortable. Would stay here again!

Great location, close to the metro. Very friendly staff, amazing view from the balcony, clean room, and the air-conditioning was a definite plus in late July. Will definitely stay here again.
