Beach Colony Resort

Typical tourist resort. Indoor pool closed and outdoor pools overrun with kids. If you are bringing kids it's probably ok. We couldn't use the amenities that are an extra charge.

Pool area top notch. Willing to give up other updates to have this area. Very relaxing. Beautiful.

The people were friendly and there are plenty of things to do. The only downfall on this trip was that the indoor pool and spa was closed for renovation.

Only struggle was parking deck very dangerous. But everything else was good.

The one way parking garage was the only issue that I had with my stay. I felt like it wasn’t well constructed for emergencies . Only one fan can pass through at a time and one way in and one way out . That caused a delay with us trying to leave out the property .

They stay was awesome had a great time the 2 nights we stayed!!! My only complaint is that the parking is to small for bigger trucks, other then that everything else was perfect definitely going back again

Front desk staff is great, and very attentive to everyone’s needs. Grounds were well maintained, staff take pride in their work. Bar service & food were fresh and delicious. Prices were reasonable.

Just ok. The floors in the unit we had were pretty dirty. They definitely needed to be scrubbed. I realize we were at the beach, but if I had a baby crawling around on that I would have been absolutely disgusted!! Our feet stayed nasty if we didn’t wear shoes inside. The sheets on the pullout bed had very obviously not been changed and the keys fobs to our room wouldn’t work on several occasions meaning we had to go get new keys made. Other than that the location was great for us. It’s a quiet area. The staff were all super nice. Pool area was ok, but lazy river was closed. Would I stay again? Probably so, but would definitely want at least a 2 bedroom for 6. The one bedroom was very tight.

Amazing place! Loved the balcony addition! So much fun for kids since there is 2 pools lazy river and a hot tub. Direct access to beach is a plus!!!

Loved the fact that the hotel has plenty of activities to do if you don’t feel like driving anywhere. The pools, restaurant, beach access, and not to mention the arcade! Fun quick getaway.

Room was not clean. Sand on floor. Bathroom door had a hole in it. Gum stuck to bathroom floor. The grounds were well maintained. Beach was nice

I did not find it to be a “resort”. Hallway rugs are dirty. The bedrooms were dirty. No water pressure in the main bathroom. The curtain rod sticking out and water flood the floor. I will only stay in emergency. Good part it sleeps 6-8 ppl, a found it spacious. Indoor pool under renovation. Outside pool and access to beach was great.

My room wasn’t clean, dust everywhere, floor was wet , sofa was dirty even with a big stain, ceiling had a lot black dust or stains I’m not even sure what was that , I like the location of the hotel, pools were great , amenities and view were great , my main issue was my room the rest was good

We were relocated to this hotel due to a last minute reservation issue with the previous hotel. The first room we had was very dirty and even after they attempted to clean it, we were moved to another room. The second room smelled of cigarettes even after the maintenance tried spraying a deodorizing spray. We were moved to a third room which was carpeted and had quite the mold/mildew smell. The fourth room was finally ok but it took a couple of days of moving our family around to get an appropriate room. The restrooms near the pool were often dirty and had an odor. The staff was very nice and helped get us to the final room. They were understanding of our frustration of moving and did give us a credit back due to the inconvenience. The stress of moving around and the time it took to do so definitely ate into our vacation which was frustrating. We went on vacation to relax and ended up being very stressed out initially.

The room layout was nice but the unit was filthy. The floors were not vacuumed at all. There was a sock from a past guest. There were plastic tags from clothing tags on the floor. The bathroom was not nice. The shower grout was black in places. The shower curtain was moldy and the the rod rusted. The towel rack fell off the wall as the brackets were coming off the drywall. There was a puddle of rusty water under the phone. The property was nice. We liked the pools and outside bar which had good food. We loved having the lazy river, but there was no enforcement of the rules whatsoever, and all 3 times we used it, it was chaotic. It was definitely not a lazy river with kids and teens swimming, jumping, screaming, pushing past, running on the center island, jumping in and out, etc. The property seemed well maintained, just not the room. The surrounding area was nice. The location convenient.

The room we stayed in could use some maintenance and better cleaning. Maintenance was actually working in the bathroom when we got there, fixing some kind of drain line clog. Someone "cleaned" the bathroom when they were done but really didn't do a very good job at all. There were smears of some substance left on the tub, shower, and wall. We could see the cabinets in the kitchen had been coming off the wall and ceiling, and had been braced in place, but they were crooked. One of the legs fell off the bed when we layed down. Had to put it back in place but it was obviously not the first time it happened as it was stripped out. The room was decent, just not the best we've seen. However, the view, the pools, and the beach were amazing.

My only thing I would change would be to have my room cleaner as I had blood and poop on sheets on the beds and we had to Have them place fresh ones on. We had hardly any towels and or pillows but other then that stay was great.

The property needs some updates. Great concept just out of date and needs a really good cleaning. Everywhere from the bathrooms near the pools, up to the bed rooms. The mate in the bathtub had black mildew all under it. Dishes in the cabinet are dirty. You cant walk barefooted with out dirt. And that was upon our arrival. I take my shoes off at the door. The rugs need a good washing or at best a really good vacuum. The beds aren't horrible but spring mattress arent the way to go now adays. Lots of pillows which is a plus! After i made my reservation online i received an email from the hotel stating there will be a $200 deposit. When we get there to check in she tells me its $250. I showed here the email so she did only place the $200 deposit which was nice! On a positive note the view from our room which was on the 21st floor oceanfront was amazing! The coffee maker needs to be replaced. I cleaned it before i tried using it this morning. Start it and white calcium rocks came out all in the pot. So we had to wait till 8am for the coffee shop to open and buy coffee instead. So no coffee and sunrise for me this morning.

I've never had a more disgusting hotel stay. After reading numerous reviews that stated how CLEAN this hotel was, we booked for one night. When checking in, the lady at the front desk was unpleasant and didn't speak very clearly- she seemed irritated we were even there. After being asked if we wanted to "Have a hold on my card for $xxx or pay $xx for incidentals" I said - just do the $xx. After checking my credit card I realized she said a larger dollar amount. Oh! And the property is cashless- but charges an additional $2.5% fee to use your credit card? So that's a fun trick. Finally, we get up to our room to find that, rather than the king suite we paid for, we were given two double beds. Okay, fine, we have a place to sleep. Except..both beds were disgusting. One had hairs of various nature and the other sheets were so wrinkled it was obvious they had been balled up and shoved somewhere after being washed- if they were even washed. Hair in shower, trash in trashcan, unknown substances on the walls - blood smears & boogers to boot! The mold on the cieling was significant, especially on the air vents. There was dirt and marijuana left on the balcony, along with trash shoved into the air handler closet. The fridge had various forms of dirt, old foot debri and bug droppings inside. Every surface of the unit was covered in a thick layer of dust and grime. I will NEVER stay here again. Front desk was unhelpful overnight, but the morning attendant was apologetic. Dont do it

We go to Myrtle Beach every year. I was hoping this would be the perfect place with all the amenities. We arrived and was given room 1002. The room was awful! The shower was full of hair and dirt. the sofa bed was old and had an odor. The microwave was dirty with food and coffee pot was not clean. There were bugs and black mold on the ceiling. The beds were uncomfortable. The security lock was broken. From the start we felt the vacation was ruined. We were coughing and feeling itchy. Other rooms were not available with the balcony view we had wanted. We had to shower in the spa for two days. This is something you don't need on vacation. More stress than needed. I feel we should have gotten more money back. I will never go again. I have pictures.

The units are individually owned so some are better than others as far as being updated so it’s a coin toss but overall the property was great! Good pools easy walk to beach, good food. We were very happy with the location and amenities. Would highly recommend.. parking was tight but right in the property.

The amenities were great, but in my room there was no way to turn on the shower.

Great location, the amenities are nice and the staff is great! Building is older and a little musty smelling. Otherwise I would have given 4*. Room layout for the king executive suite is great.

The balcony by door did not lock. Bathtub chalking as well as the kitchen area was dirty. The front door was difficult to open and unlock. The front staff were very unfriendly. Will not stay here again not worth the money. Also the ice machine was loud during the night.

We stayed at the one bedroom ocean view condo. The condo needs major remodeling. There is a certain bad odor when you walk in. The sofa stinks. The kitchen cabinets are old and the furnitures seemed like they were bought from Goodwill. The parking was tight and it was hard to get in and out. The curtains and bed covers looked like they were from ‘80s. Property pool and grounds were nice. We’re not going back there again.

I loved the whole experience. Everyone was nice.. checking in was smooth LOVED that so much! The guy clerk was my favorite at the front desk he did an amazing job checking me In and Ashley she did awesome telling me about the resort.

Check in was great- fast and easy! The property is a bit tired kindof dirty. The room was great! Bed was comfortable and room was clean! Would stay here again!

When we first checked in the room was not really clean. However, we talked to the front desk and we got another room which was much nicer. We were satisfied the staying afterward.

Reasonable place to stay - but leaves room for improved cleanliness. Front desk staff unfortunately are not friendly and all about grabbing more money. I was charged several charges with no biases. When questioned- I was told “well they’re only pending charges”!!

This hotel has a great location, few minutes driving everywhere you want to go, restaurants , shopping, entertainment.

I didnt like the room but they switched us to a better room.i did like the property and the convenience to the beach

We were there from Sunday to Tuesday. It was a super quick last min get away for us. The resort itself was very nice. Was within walking distance to alot that we did and it was nice being so close to the ocean and not having very far to walk to get to it. Lots of cats on the property? Food bowls for the cats were out near the cornhole boards? But the cats were friendly at least. Not alot of staff so I cant really comment on customer service. Our room wasn't ready till sometime after 5pm maybe 5:30ish..so we did have to kill some time until it was ready and no one ever called us to let us know it was ready?We just showed up after our dinner and they said it was ready. 👍 And the 1st day we were there, the lazy river was roped off and closed and there was no one at the bar area near the pool to take our drink order or buy appetizers. So we were a little dissapointed by not getting to use any of that the 1st day we were there. But I'm guessing maybe they just didnt have enough staff that sunday? The next day everything was open and functioning properly. We enjoyed it overall. Pools were a little packed at times...not enough seating around the pool sometimes. But overall. It was a good trip and we would probably stay here again. 👍

I love this place. Be sure to get a room above the 3rd floor if you are ocean side out you just get a view of the trees and not the ocean

The one restaurant on the property was poor at best. For a beach side resort, there were no seafood dishes on the menu except for one appetizer. the quality of the food they did serve was poor. the hamburger I ordered was partially frozen. Also, there was no breakfast served at all. I went to the next door resort to obtain quality meals. I observed several other guests from Beach Colony doing the same thing. Everything about my stay was exceptional quality, but the food amenities were completely unsatisfactory.

One of the best resort I have visited till now. The receptionists were really helpful and friendly. Great staff who knew how to serve the customer. The room was well equipped and the service was excellent. From the balcony, we could view the sea and feel the cool breeze. The location of our room was absolutely perfect. As soon as you come out of the resort, we just need to cross the road and there is a direct path leading to the beach. It felt like a private beach, very clean and clear water, a very good place to relax and chill. The scenery was beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment. The view of the sunset from that point was mesmerizing.

The place wasn’t bad it just needs some upgrades. The bathroom tubs are very old. And they need to make guest walk away from Jr property to smoke because the room’s smell like cigarettes and in the hallways. They need more staff in the bar & grill it was 1 person doing everything. She was the cook cashier and the barmaid.

The angle view was not really a view at all, I could not see the beach, only the parking lot. The room was spacious though. Also I did love the outside part of the resort. Lots of pools and activities for everyone in the family. The bar at the resort was also nice.

Overall it was a great place to stay. The room and property was clean. I just wish they would have had a grill on the property so you could do some grilling out if you wanted to.

The oceanview was ok, as was the room. I didnt understand why the washer/ dryer was in the master bedroom's bathroom. The front desk lady was really nice. My family and I reaaly enjoyed the bar/ restaurant. Courtney was really nice.
