Modern Beach Retreat: Pool & Fun Near the Ocean

The house was perfect for our large family. We had 14 adults and one child and didn't use one of the bedrooms. The floor plan was great and the location was good, too. The reasons I only rated it good was because the pool, while we used it, had mold (algae) in it especially in the whirlpool. I called on Monday and a pool person came that afternoon but couldn't do much. The pool has a leak and the scubber doesn't work. The water level was a little low. There were not enough garbage cans. The only one was in the kitchen and some very small ones in the bathrooms. Several more were delivered while we were there. The thermostats were crazy. I would set the first floor for 72 and later it would get warm and I checked at it would of changed to 75 and a couple of times to 82. It had to be adjusted several times a day. The second floor was the same. One bedroom on the second floor (left at the top of the steps and left at the end of the hall) had a piece missing from the bed frame. I thought the pool was an issue and the other items an inconvenience. We all had a good time and would consider returning next year.

The house was great. Bedrooms and bathrooms were good. The kitchen could use some additional larger serving bowls and utensils. Pool area was great. Definitely cannot park two cars in the garage as one garage door looks to be for a golf cart and garage doors didn’t open well. Overflow parking was convenient to the property which was nice. For a house that sleeps that many people another fridge would be helpful. Hosts were very responsive to me sending messages for whatever questions we had. Even coming over quickly to address a water pressure issue.

The house itself was great for our group, plenty of space for everyone to hang out without feeling like you were on top of each other. However, the little things that can make a stay great weren't quite there. The microwave was broken and when maintenance came to look at it, they just said "no good" and left and we never heard anything else about it getting fixed. The flooring was coming up in a few places and we had to put a band aid on one of the spots to keep people from scraping their toe on the sharp edge. In the kitchen there were very few pans, bowls, and other things needed for cooking meals including no staple ingredients like cooking oil, Pam, seasonings etc. While these are all small things, when you have 10 similar rental properties in the same complex, the little things can make the difference on which property you choose.

We loved having such a large place. With 9 adults and 4 kids under 4 there was plenty for all! We heated the pool/hot-tub and used it multiple times per day. The beach was very close by and we visited Ryckman Park playground and James H Nance playground!! Great time with great hosts!! !
