Next to the hotel are the famous catacombs of Domitilla. They are the largest maze of catacombs, from the sixty ancient underground tomb systems in Rome. The tombs of the 1st and 2nd Century have partly a Christian background. In the tombs itself there are found frescoes with classical and Christian motifs. In the 4th Century, abouve the catacombs, the basilica of Santi Nereo e Achille was built. In the vicinity of the Regional Park Appia Antica, the hotel is located in a green and peaceful oasis, offering guests rest after a busy Rome-day program or service.
