It was a very nice hotel, good parking areas, nice meals in restaurant, nice gardens, good staff.

Easy access to Manchester Airport (10 min). Lovely grounds, great breakfast options (fee) and quiet area. It has a few years on it but our room (executive) was clean and well appointed. Nice bathroom. Small bar/pub area. The gardens are nice for a wee stroll. Would stay again.

The staff is very helpful. The room size is big for family room but the interior decoration is old. The hotel garden is very nice and is a wedding venue thought the location is quite remote and no any other restaurants or stores available.

Second time here. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff. My only criticism is the lack of sinage from the rooms to reception.

Our room was spacious and clean. There was a seating area which was welcome. We experienced noise each night from events which was disturbing.

Reaching the reception desk, I was greeted by a welcoming smile from a young woman called Lucy, who quickly processed my checking in, and doublecheck that the room is prepared ready for me to move into, and was very efficient and helpful. The room is on the top floor up a second small flight of stairs, who is very comfortably appointed with a view of the small lake and fountains outside. I met my friend in the bar and the young barman, Sam.'G efficiently serve the drinks with a pleasant manner which he continued with in the dining room later that evening as we have chosen to dine in:we both thoroughly enjoyed our choices. There is plenty of parking and the grounds were very welcoming. If I had one small quibble, it would be that from the car parking, there was no clear signage about how to proceed to the reception, apart from going back to the road and at the front of the house, it was not immediately notable where the entrance to the reception was as there was no signage and misty. The French doors leading to the bar were also ajar, and I observed several other couples coming in also hesitating by the valet parking signs to discern which way they had to go. However, apart from that, we enjoyed a very pleasant, relaxing day away from the bustle of daily routines...

A nice little find when the hotels were full in Manchester due to Oasis gig! Nice king size bed and a dark room with good curtains to block out light. Room has everything you need. Parking is on site, free and ample. The grounds are beautiful too, which I saw more of next day and spent some time before setting off on my journey. Room was traditional but needs some attention, broken lamp, television not tuned in. Good tea tray with glass bottled water (sustainable) and Border biscuits! Comfortable stay and would stay again!

Lobby, gardens and front of house lovely...room smelt musty, t.v. ariel faulty, no picture. Wallpaper coming off wall in parts and marks on paper where other guest threw tea bags into bin and i guess missed. Breakfast, food was luke warm, no water for a cup of tea.. Overall not worth 140.00 for one night

Stayed for one night on way from London to Falkirk. Outside, and shared spaces (bar and kitchen) nicely kept, furniture comfortable. Our room (3 adults) was great size, beds were comfy, was clean, but walls needed some attention in bedroom and bathroom (cold/damp marks and paint flaking). Staff were great.

Poor coffee and a lot of black mould in the bathroom (ceiling) and lower corner of the room. TV not working. Mentioned to reception on checkout but the lady didn’t seem surprised and no apology given.

Nice clean hotel with large family suite. Very comfortable bedding and furnishings.

Mould around the bath. Toilet did not flush. No hot water for a shower when I arrived in the evening. Paid £15 for b’fast. Fruit sliced on the table had gone brown. Mixed fruit was mush so must have been frozen. Asked for a latta I was give a tall instant coffee with a drop of milk. I could go on but no point as nothing will change.

First of all we were a bridal party the lodge was initially tidy but as for cleaning is another matter as we set out to make an evening meal for ourselves we needed the oven to work which it didn’t also there were cobwebs in the pan cupboard and the windows were dirty outside we had Christopher the night manager who was excellent in solving our problem he is an asset to this place you can be assure if you have a problem he’s the best man to solve it thank you Christopher from the brides mum, the venue was exceptional in every way thats from relatives who had rooms and the breakfasts in all its a beautiful place to go, so thank you to the staff who were lovely

We spent a total of 5 nights and Enjoyed our stay. Room was very big, clean but dated and tired, a four poster bed which I’m not keen on having a lot of heavy fabric hanging over my head in bed. It was however very comfortable, quiet and cosy. The bathroom again, dated with a shower over a roll tap bath which means lots of shower curtain to fight with whist showering, also even the bathroom was huge it was lacking somewhere for our toiletries. We ate in the bar and restaurant and food was very good as was breakfast. It’s a beautiful building but could do with some TLC in most of the areas particularly the entrance and reception which in believe will be happening sometime soon. Would stay again.

I stayed half board and the food choices and quality was excellent. Room was big and comfy. Staff were polite and friendly. Only small gripe was that I stayed in room 334 and directions to and from the room were tricky. See you again soon. Paul M

Quiet, big room with all the features, just looking a little tired. Good breakfast.

WiFi took a long while to get working

Great bar snacks, very generous portions at a good price. Drinks were quite expensive. Good breakfast with prompt service. The room was very comfortable and clean. We unfortunately had a noisy couple shouting late at night in the room next door. Reception dealt with this promptly when I called them and reported it.

Very comfortable and excellent staff

Check in was difficult as on arrival they could not find my reservation even though i had a copy of my confirmation from Hotels.com. This was complicated by the hotel being fully booked. The receptionist got her manager (both friendly and apologetic) and between them they sorted my out a room (hoping someone else wasn't going to turn up). My room itself was fine in keeping with the style of the building, a decent size with a nice bathroom Dinner was fine. The parfait was similar to a supermarket finest range. the ox cheek was good. Service was friendly. Likewise breakfast was good Overall a booking on half board was good value. I would recommend and go back, but check with the hotel in advance that they have the booking

Not the best experience. Reception staff do not bother to acknowledge you are waiting to check in. She was on the phone but then continued to move pieces of paper around the Reception area. Still no acknowledgement to myself or the other person waiting. Mattresses seemed quite old and sagging. Then there was an unfortunate accident in the night. My grandson sleep walked ( not done since a toddler. Can only imagine he was disorientated. ) into to tv cabinet. The tv was on top as too big to fit inside. It toppeled over and unfortunately broke. I went to Reception early that morning to explain whst had happened. No one seemed to know what their policy was regarding the accident. They confirmed my details and said they would call later. They did and to my shock charged me £250 for an old tv. I was told that was the price and i had to pay it immediately in line with thier policy (which no one knew earlier.) I paid it even though i was shocked at the price. At no point did any staff ask if my grandson was ok. I also suggested that they look at possibly putting the tvs on the wall in future to prevent this happening again. I was abruptly told thats not what they do. This was a family room i stayed in my grandson is a teen. What if this happened to a young child?. My concern is that they had no interest in making the family room safer. Like i said this was an accident. I understand damages need to be payed for but also found the price excessive.

This hotel has got amazing potential that I guess (or at least hope) is fully utilised for weddings and special occasions. We went there "just" for the weekend, the Valentine's weekend. There was a mixup with our room, we got checked into a small double room instead of family room that we booked originally because we need separate beds. As soon as we mentioned the mixup to the reception, it was rectified but in a very flat, indifferent way, with no apologies. The room that we finally ended up in (the one that was booked originally) was everything that we expected, at least at the first glance. On closer inspection, there were some details that we did not expect at a 4 star hotel (door knob missing on the bedside cabinet and the door of it coming off one of the hinges, fraying carpet near radiator, mattresses with no support on the edges- felt like you were about to fall off when you're sitting on the edge of the bed). There are no ceiling lights in the room but plenty of standard lamps. The extra radiator was definitely a very nice touch, and we very much liked the jacuzzi effect in the bath. The service from the reception, both on check in and check out, was very lackluster. We did not want to be made fuss of, that was not our expectation, but on check in it would have been nice to be asked if we wanted dinner/breakfast at the hotel's restaurant, and it would have been nice to be asked at check out if we enjoyed our stay. That's not too much to ask, is it?

If you're not part of an event being held at this hotel, don't bother booking as they prioritise event attenders over all others. I booked and paid for 3 double rooms 4 months in advance to ensure we had accommodation for a family wedding at a different venue, only to be informed by email at 2.30pm on the day of check in that our booking could not be fulfilled by this hotel! This was despite me calling reservations 3 days prior to travelling that everything was in order, including being informed what time we could drop vehicles at the hotel for an early start some 10 miles away. The problem for me was that i had switched my phone off as we were at a wedding, and only got the notification that the booking had been revoked when we came to confirm our return taxis at 11.30pm, which then led to an hour of calls with Hotels.Com reservations and finally a 65mile return journey home at 1am having to leave 1 vehicle at the hotel due to no longer having 2 drivers fit to drive. Overall the experience is one that will make me very wary of booking a room at hotel that offers wedding / conference facilities if we're not part of those events. Very disappointed that this hotel has clearly 'bumped' us in favour of others attending the weeding at the hotel, but who couldn't be bothered to get their own house in order and make their reservations in due time. Would never recommend this hotel.

Great location, great venue, friendly staff

We were just stopping overnight before an early morning flight from Manchester. The hotel is in a beautiful setting and the rooms large and comortable. The staff were very helpful and arranged our transport from there to the airport for us.

The hotel was great for location near to the reason for being in the area, road access was very good, car parking was good, the rooms were excellent.

Great location we had afternoon tea overlooking the lake and then stayed over. Breakfast was amazing too!

A bed so soft and bouncy you feel like you are sleeping on a cloud. Spacious rooms. Soft and large towels. One of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had. Amazing bar sandwiches. Super friendly staff. If you’ve got an event in Manchester or going to the airport it’s the ideal location out of the city. Knutsford town is a cab drive away and beautiful

Parking good. Check-in simple. Bad smell in corridors. Everything looked shabby on way to room 327. Room ok. Not a king bed, it was 2 singles joined together with a very noticeable split down the middle, so annoying. TV hard to work out. In bar, no Guinness even though pump was there. Restaurant service was fabulous. Food was bang average. Grill must’ve needed cleaning as my gammon was filthy. Too expensive. Sleep ok. Breakfast good and again service was great. Overall quite expensive for what it was, sorry.

I had an enjoyable stay, the staff were friendly, the service excellent, the food good but let down by old furniture and decor in the room. I would stay again, if a better room was available.
