HORRIBLE PLACE! DO NOT stay here! Elevator is broken to 2nd floor. Smelled everywhere. The floor and toilet were literally crooked/tilted. Handprints and dirt on walls and ceilings. Lumpy bed. Was not worth it. Breakfast was seriously just some prepackaged muffins.

Beautiful historic hotel, which has maintained the integrity of its history by using interiordesign from the period. Also by using antique furniture and adding classic pieces that blend nicely. Bedrooms and bath were clean and well maintained. Lola and staff we’re very attentive to our needs. Lovely continental breakfast out in the sunroom every morning. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return again.

Cool old property. Decent bar and restaurant. Rooms need updating and maintenance. Stingy with the towels!!! I remember when they remodeled in the late 80's...beautiful then.

If you like 19th century, then this is the place, Furniture resembled that era and kept up well. Our room had a 4-poster bed. I saw one other room as we were going to our room, it had a canopy bed that had a 2-step platform to get in. The manager Lola, that checked us in was adorable and very helpful. Breakfast was a continental style breakfast and all things were fresh. Couple of negative things: Call before you go as the restaurant and tavern that is built in was closed. We were told that it was closed a month ago but were looking for someone to take it over. I was asked but I told them it would be a long commute from Michigan. LOL Looks like it would be a happening place and in great shape, almost turnkey if you are looking. Second thing was that late at night the fire alarm went off. At least we know that it is working. we found out that the steam from someone showering had set it off because they left the door to the bathroom open. I do maintenance and I have known for this to happen at times so it could have been true. There are 4 floors plus the basement where the Tavern is and they have an elevator but at the time, it was not opening up on the 2nd floor. They were waiting on the repair person to come and fix. It does work but is slower than most elevators so don't get button-pushing-happy as this will give it a headache and go slower. LOL All in all, I will give this high marks!

It's an old hotel. So keep that in mind. Rooms are old. Our experience was fun because it was old.
